Chapter 28

Behind him, the Exiled lycans force their way down the escalator and move off into the crowd. A beat, then Selene and the angelic vampire slink from the shadows and stealthily follow them.Across the platform, Michael shuffles up to the crowded loading zone. While on the Platform the Lycans split up, predators on the hunt, converging on Michael from opposite directions. Without warning Marius's right hand Gregor stops in his tracks and sniffs the air. He turns, and catches a glimpse of the angelic vampire. Panic floods his face. Whipping out a modified Uzi, he screams"Blooooods !"

An eruption of automatic gunfire and terror sweeps across the platform.Some of the Commuters hit the deck, run for their lives, etc.

The vampires dive for cover, skinning MP-5 submachine guns and glock pistols as glowing bullets (ULTRAVIOLET AMMO) ricochet all around them.At the same time a young vampire, who's been standing watch outside, goes tearing into the station, tossing commuters aside like rag dolls, and disappears down the pedestrian tunnel.

The gunshots, screams. We find Michael, along with several other terrified commuters, huddled behind a ticketing kiosk. He reacts as a teenage girl gets caught in the crossfire and drops to the floor, blood spurting from her femoral artery!

While Romulus was making sure nothing happened to the idiot.

The girl was shot and she looks down at her leg and starts gasping in short, repetitious bursts. Michael scurries through the line of fire like an Army field medic and starts feverishly applying pressure to her wound.

Another explosion of automatic fire as Michael cringes, shields the girl's face. Behind him, Romulus was shielding him by firing at any Lycan trying to come his way.

While across the platform Selene and the angelic vampire dives behind a kiosk. All around them, glowing rounds strike the walls, shattering tiles.

Selene frowned and muttered into the coms"They have like UV rounds.Everyone be careful."

Selene knew Fenris's worries came true, but having already made a counter for them, which is enchanted suits and armor, which is good for blocking these rounds and only a headshot is a problem. Another was the Daylight ring, which again made sure UV lights won't affect them. While Lucian,Raze,Xristo..etc, and other Lycans under Fenris had Moonlight rings which made sure they didn't have a problem with silver nitrate gas.

Selene slams a fresh magazine into her Glock 18: a pistol that can fire both single rounds and fully automatic bursts.

Selene then takes aim, and squeezes the trigger, BLAM! bullets tears into some of the lycan's shoulder, sending them slamming to the ground.He flees towards the subway tunnel, floor tiles exploding all around him. The Lycan scurries over the edge of the platform, drops down onto the subway tracks, and slumps against the cement barrier muttering"Shit. Shit. Shit." Wincing in agony, he digs two fingers into his wound and tugs out the bloodied remains of a silver bullet.

She dodges a look around the edge of the kiosk, and sees Michael tending to the gunshot girl. Selene now reloads with Sliver nitrate rounds instead of normal silver rounds and slams it into her Glock.

She sees another Lycan charging his way, clawed fingers outstretched, is the smaller lycan!

Selene enters with both guns blazing and unloads two full Glock 18 into on of Lycan's, most of them shot dead with silver nitrate coursing through their veins.

Gregor charges across the platform to his comrade's aid, guns blazing, drawing Selene's fire.While suddenly Romulus slams into Gregor, causing both of them to fly out of the breaker room,tangled in a death grip, and slam against the opposite side of the tunnel! Plummeting to the gravel they immediately face-off, fangs bared, predator versus predator! WHOOOOOOOSH! The train goes through the nearby tracks.

Romulus is thundering his way, fangs bared, glaring at him,the sclera of his eyes turns blood-red, dark veins appear under his eyes and his canine teeth extend into razor-sharp fangs.

Gregor was afraid it was natural instinct,but he couldn't escape as Romulus used his speed to close the distance and rip his heart out. Romulus looked at the beating heart in his hand and mutters"This is the best this idiot could do."
