14 Christmas Special (not filler)

Gensokyo echoed with the distant laughter of Yukari Yakumo as Reimu, now left alone in the quiet aftermath of the festival, seethed with frustration.

Richard, on the other hand, found himself once again in the peculiar realm beyond the gaps, a place where the laws of reality seemed to bend at Yukari's whims.

Richard: "Is this going to become a running gag or something?!?!"

Yukari, appearing with her fan in hand covering her mouth.

Yukari: "No it wont be, I just need to borrow you for a little bit"

Yukari: "You see I let you go without doing what I was meant to do originally"

Richard, raising an eyebrow, couldn't help but feel a mixture of confusion and concern.

Richard: "What do you mean 'what you were meant to do originally'?"

Yukari, still behind her fan, revealed a sly grin.

Yukari: "You are an anomaly, dear Richard. Your presence disrupts the delicate balance of Gensokyo. I let you go the first time, but now, we need to address that imbalance."

Richard does an audible gulp

*gulp*

Richard: "And how exactly are you going to do that...?"

Yukari, still veiled behind her fan, chuckled at Richard's nervous gulp.

Yukari: "Oh, don't you worry, my dear anomaly. I'm just making sure that you are going to follow the spell card rules."

Richards steps back and scratches his head in confusion

Richard: "...but I'm not a Yokai"

Yukari presses her fan nearer her mouth more as she prepares to speak

Yukari: "oh really?, your biology says differently. its as if two body's are coexisting in there"

Richard's eyes widened in surprise at Yukari's revelation. He instinctively placed a hand over his chest, as if expecting an alien entity to burst forth.

Richard: "Two bodies? What do you mean?"

Yukari: "Its hard to explain, not that I need to or care to, I just need you do do something for me, Mr Yokai"

Richard, still grappling with the revelation of two bodies coexisting within him, took a moment to process Yukari's words. The notion of a dual existence stirred a mixture of confusion and curiosity within him.

Richard: "Mr. Yokai, huh? Fine, what do you need me to do, Yukari?"

Yukari, her eyes glinting with amusement, handed him a set of blank spell cards.

Yukari: "I need you to create your own spell cards. Abide by Gensokyo's spell card rules. It's a small price to pay for the privilege of existing in Gensokyo."

Richard: "ehh? really? thats it."

Richard: "I'm fine with that. Lets get to the montage!"

[One montage later]

Description: Channelling his Limitless magical energy, Richard creates a protective barrier that resonates with incoming magical attacks. The resonance absorbs and disperses the energy, providing a versatile defence against a variety of spell card assaults.

[Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue]

Description: The spell card manifests an ethereal blue veil that cloaks Richard's movements. It confounds the perception of opponents, creating illusions and misdirection, making it challenging for them to predict his actions in spell card duels.

[Cursed Technique Reversal: Red]

Description: This spell card allows Richard to temporarily invert the flow of magical energy in the targeted area, creating a localized field where the effects of magical attacks are reversed. Incoming projectiles are reflected back at the opponent, and offensive spells turn into a source of replenishing energy for Richard.

[Hollow Technique: Purple]

Description: This spell card summons Hollow Technique: Purple. Ethereal purple orbs home in on incoming enemies and on contact is guaranteed to knock them out for 8 hours, This move also destroys any* object that is not a person on contact.

[Unlimited Void]

Description: Channelling the power of Unlimited Void, this spell card allows Richard to manipulate space, creating voids that disrupt and nullify opposing spell cards. It grants him control over the battlefield, turning the opponent's attacks into harmless fluctuations in the void.

The newly crafted spell cards shimmered with magical energy as Richard marvelled at his creations. Yukari observed with an amused smile, her fan once again concealing her expression.

Yukari: "Not bad, not bad at all, Mr. Yokai. Now, keep these cards handy. You'll need them if you want to navigate Gensokyo without causing too much of a ruckus."

Richard pocketed the spell cards with a nod, a newfound confidence exuding from him.

Richard: "Got it. Anything else, or can I go back to enjoying the festival?"

Yukari chuckled.

Yukari: "You're free to go, for now. Just remember, Gensokyo has its rules, and you're not exempt from them."

With a snap of her fan, Yukari opened a gap, and as Richard stepped through, he found himself back were he was originally. The Fireworks had stopped and the only illumination there were pale lanterns.

Yukari: "By the way. you were making the spell card's for a week"

Richard's eyes widened in surprise.

Richard: "A week? It felt like just a few minutes!"

Yukari: "I may of used some magic to make you more focussed. I suppose you just lost your sense of time during that."

Yukari's laughter echoed through the gap as it closed behind Richard.

Richard: "Huh"

Richard: "..."

Richard: "dam' it, Reimu's going to kill me"

Richard chuckled at the "playful" message and decided to move on to the next item.

A subtle magical aura enveloped Richard's right palm as the tattoo manifested. The text "You can" gleamed in elegant script.

Richard: "What is the items bio?"

Richard: *long sigh* "damnit, next item"

[Summoning Giant gun that just fists you(C+)]

To Richard's surprise, a colossal gun materialized infront of him. However, instead of shooting bullets, a giant fist extended from the gun, mimicking a punching motion.

Richard: "..."

Richard: "Can I sell it?"

Richard: "alright sell it then"

Richard stops with his surprise as he comes to a realization

Richard: "Alright, let's see if this book lives up to its claim."

As he concentrated on the target, the book's pages flipped rapidly until it emitted a faint glow. Suddenly, a magical force propelled the book, and it soared through the air with unerring accuracy, hitting the chosen tree dead centre.

Richard: "Well, I'll be. This is quite handy!"

Richard: "NEXT!"

The Amon LOTM set of clothing reappeared, accompanied by a message.

Richard, already wearing the set, nodded appreciatively.

Richard: "This wizard outfit looks pretty cool, but how do people even wear monocle's?"

Richard try's to adjust the monocle on his eye but it slips

Richard looks at the broken glass of the floor with the golden circle vacant with just shards left hanging on it

Richard: "..."

Richard puts his fist against his head and sticks out his tongue for three seconds and then decides to move on

A small pill vial materialized, containing a mysterious pill.

Richard: "Hmm, a body enhancement pill. What could go wrong?"

Richard then thinks about all the Chinese translation novels he had read and how all the young masters would die from the Evil Dao Pill from using it in a tournament or something along those lines

Richard: "maybe for later, system store this pill and open the next gift"

A peculiar-looking chair manifested, its design reminiscent of the friendly SCP-999.

Richard: "Well, that's oddly cute for an SCP. What does it do?"

Richard chuckled.

Richard: "Fair enough. Can't say no to a comfortable chair. Thanks, mysterious donor!"

As Richard grumbled about his luck, he couldn't shake off the feeling that the black, enigmatic symbol held more secrets than it revealed.

Biting her nails with an intensity that mirrored the weight of her thoughts, Reimu's distressed countenance was illuminated by the moon's glow, casting shadows that danced upon her face.

Bags, heavy with the burden of sleepless nights and unanswered questions, hung under Reimu's eyes like badges of weariness.

The moonlight, though radiant, failed to find its way into the depths of her eyes, leaving them devoid of the usual highlights. Instead, they reflected the profound darkness of her inner turmoil.

Richard approached the shrine, hearing Reimu's distressed muttering even before he entered.

Richard: "Hey, Reimu, I'm back!"

Reimu as soon as she hears Richard she instantly returns to her stoic unmoving face that she usually wears

Reimu: "Hello Richard, what took you so long?"

Reimu: "Its been 1 week 3 hours 34 minutes 23 secon-"

*cough*

Reimu: "I mean about a week since you where last here"

Richard: "Oh I got caught up with Yukari, she told me to make some spell cards so that I'm allowed to stay in Gensokyo"

Reimu's stoic façade held firm as she listened to Richard's explanation, though a subtle flicker of irritation passed through her eyes.

Reimu: "Spell cards, huh? You really have a knack for getting into trouble."

Richard scratched his head with a sheepish grin.

Richard: "Well, you know me, haha"

Reimu's gaze remained piercing, as if trying to discern whether there was more to the story. She let out a resigned sigh.

Reimu: "Just don't leave all so suddenly next time alright? not that I care if you do or anything"

Reimu: "its just that you attract chaos wherever you go"

Reimu: " Yeh that what I mean I don't care if you leave or anything baka"

Richard: "You got it, Reimu. By the way, Remember how I told you I had this Purchase stuff ability that sometimes gives me free gifts?"

(a/n or Blender here, I made Reimu know about the system despite the other chapter where I made a whole thing about her not knowing about the system, if you want to know why, then, uhh....., uhhh, cuz of plot)

Reimu: "Yes I remember"

Richard: "well for Christmas it gave me a whole bunch of stuff, so I want to give you some stuff I got okay?

Reimu's stern expression softened ever so slightly at Richard's attempt to lighten the mood. She nodded, a subtle acknowledgment of his words.

Reimu: "If it's some weird outsider stuff, make sure it won't cause trouble."

Richard chuckled.

Richard: "No worries, Reimu. These gifts are harmless, mostly. Let me show you."

He reached into his bag and pulled out a small, intricately wrapped package. The paper, adorned with festive patterns, seemed out of place in the moonlit shrine.

Richard: "Merry Christmas, Reimu. Open it."

Reimu eyed the package with a mix of curiosity and wariness before carefully unwrapping it. As the paper fell away, The Universal cooking book(C-) was revealed.

Reimu: "A cooking book?"

Richard grinned.

Richard: "Not just any cooking book. It's the best cooking book in the damn universe!"

Reimu's eyebrows arched in surprise as she examined the Universal Cooking Book(C-) in her hands.

Reimu: "The best cooking book, huh? You're telling me this thing has recipes from all over the universe?"

Richard nodded enthusiastically.

Richard: "Exactly! From the tastiest ramen in Japan to the most exotic dishes on distant planets. It's a culinary adventure waiting to happen."

Reimu's skepticism lingered, but a spark of interest gleamed in her eyes.

Reimu: "Well, I do get tired of eating the same thing all the time. Maybe this will add some variety."

Richard chuckled.

Richard: "That's the spirit!"

Reimu: "thanks"

Richard's grin widened at Reimu's response.

Richard Summoned another gift.

Reimu: "What's this one?"

Richard smirked mischievously.

Richard: "Only the most comfortable bed in existence. Sweet dreams, guaranteed."

Reimu's eyes widened.

Reimu: "A bed?"

Richard laughed.

Richard: "I know it sounds mundane, but trust me, once you try it, you'll wonder how you ever slept on anything else."

Reimu sighed but accepted the gift with a faint smile.

Reimu: "Fine, fine. If it's as amazing as you say ill try it"

Richard grinned, pleased that Reimu was willing to give the unusual bed a chance.

As Reimu went on top of the bed the fatigue of her seven consecutive all nighter's in a row seemed to immediately lift from her shoulders. The comfort of the bed embraced her like a cocoon

Reimu: "zzz"

Richards scratches his head in surprise

Richard: "Well, that was quick."

He chuckled to himself, realizing the potency of the extraordinary bed. With a gentle smile, he decided to let Reimu rest, realizing how much she needed it.

Richard: "Sweet dreams, Reimu."

As he left the room, he made a mental note to check on her later, ensuring that the newfound comfort had a positive impact on her well-being. The Hakurei Shrine, once shrouded in the weight of weariness, now echoed with the tranquillity of a restful night.
