324 Protagonist Threat

The pastry shop wasn't too busy, apart from Akira and Nino, there were only two girls taking photos of pastrys and chatting casually.

Sitting across from Nino, Akira scanned the shop and said: "So Nino-Nee used to work part time here, huh. This place is really good for you to hone your cooking skills."

"Indeed, the manager taught me a lot of things that weren't in the cookbooks. In the future, I might open my own cafe."

"Oh, Nino-Nee has decided what you want to do after entering society?"

"Of course. I can't keep playing around, I also have to think about my future direction. By the way, don't tell the others about this."

"Why?"

"Anyway, just go along with it, understand?"

Nino still wants to keep her dream a secret from her other sisters.

"Okay." Akira nodded.

From a movie he watched in the cinema before his death, he learned that Nino and Miku would run a cafe business after graduating from college.

Unless he intervenes, the future of the quintuplets will not change drastically. After all, it wasn't like he had gone back in time and didn't need to worry about causing a butterfly effect.

"Shouldn't we order something? That man has been staring here since earlier." Akira said in a low voice.

Nino turned and looked at the pastry display case, finding Fuutarou looking at them seriously.

Averting her gaze from her sister's boyfriend, Nino asked with a smile: "Hey, Akira, do you want to try the pastry I made?"

"Sure." Akira nodded, thinking Nino would buy ingredients and cook at home. But he was very wrong.

"You wait here."

Not giving an explanation, Nino stood up and entered the kitchen under the supervision of Akira and Fuutarou who wanted to stop her.

After a few minutes, she came out and approached Akira.

"The manager let me use the kitchen. No problem, right, you wait until I make the pastry?"

Nino's plan is simple, she wants to directly make pastrys here. What's more, she used to work here and the manager was very nice to her.

If she makes pastry at home, her sister will eat it too. Nino wants to make an exclusive pastry for Akira.

"Um. I can wait however long."

"Good. It won't take an hour. You look forward to the pastry~"

Then Nino headed to the kitchen with a smile on her face.

Akira intended to spend the time waiting by playing with his cellphone, but Fuutarou came to him with an unfriendly face.

"Need something?" Akira asked.

"Who exactly are you? You are not an ordinary person, right?"

In his second sentence, Fuutarou lowered his volume.

It was still fresh in his memory when he saw the other party suddenly disappear along with Ichika and the others. In fact, it's impossible to forget those supernatural scenes!

"Me? Nakano Akira, that's my name. I am the younger brother of the Nakano Family's quintuplets." Akira answered casually.

"Lie. Don't think your lies can deceive me. I've known them for more than two years. Their father never remarried after the death of the quintuplets' mother. You must have done something to them, like hypnosis or something!"

Fuutarou glared at Akira, not believing his excuse at all.

It was normal he had such an idea. He had read some mind control genre doujin. Therefore, he believed that the other party had bad intentions towards the Nakano Family.

Fuutarou becomes more confident in his guess after seeing the drastic change in Ichika, Nino, Miku, and Itsuki's attitudes towards him.

In his opinion, even if he chose Yotsuba as his girlfriend, they shouldn't treat him like this.

"Are you reading too many doujins, Uesugi Fuutarou, or is your brain starting to get damaged from reading too many books? Well, no matter which one it is, I have to commend your wild imagination. Why not become a writer and publish light novels?"

"Don't quibble! Get out of their lives or I will report you to the police!"

Seeing Akira refusing to tell him the truth, Fuutarou was 90% sure that the young man in front of him was a fraud.

Akira shook his head and said casually: "Go? Why should I obey your words? Assuming everything you say is true, then why don't I hypnotize you and make existence. I experienced it?"

Fuutarou couldn't reply to his argument. Honestly, he was jealous hearing Yotsuba say he lived with them.

In the past, he didn't feel anything when staying at their apartment because of various coincidental situations that made him unable to return home. However, when it was another man's turn to be in that position, he felt irritated.

"I—"

Fuutarou still wants to argue, but a customer walks into the shop.

As a part-time worker, he cannot neglect his work. So, he stared at Akira sharply before serving the customer.

"Haaa.... Halo protagonist is so scary. Of the quintuplets, four of them fell in love with such a man, and were even willing to cheat and ruin the sibling relationship. Really, the plot armor of the harem protagonist is beyond common sense."

"Putting aside his personality. At least, he is loyal and not a bastard like me. So, I don't have to worry about Yotsuba being cheated on in the future."

Akira felt comforted by Fuutarou's suspicions towards him.

He could have resolved this misunderstanding by telling the truth. However, he respected his father's decision.

Nakano Maruo asked them to keep it a secret about Akira coming from a parallel world. Because of this, the quints did not give Fuutarou a specific explanation. In particular, Yotsuba who is not good at lying.

Every time Fuutarou asks about Akira, Yotsuba chooses to laugh or remain silent.

Even if one of them accidentally leaked this secret, it was unlikely anyone would believe it, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

"It's a peaceful world..."

Looking out the window, Akira looked at the pedestrians busy with worldly affairs.

"Haaa... I really want to participate in the cultural festival. I want to know how Mika, Bocchi, Shoko, Miharu, Ako, and Riko are doing."

"Hmm~~... You mentioned a lot of women's names, are they all your girlfriends?"

A woman's sour voice awakened Akira from his reverie.

"Are you done, Nino-Nee?"

He realized Nino was looking at him displeased.

"Not yet. The pastry is still in the oven. Instead, don't change the topic. Tell me, who are they?"

Sitting in a chair, Nino crossed her arms as if she was interrogating.

"They are my childhood friends."

"Childhood friend? That much? Akira, are you sure you're not the protagonist of a harem novel? That's too much."

Nino was taken aback for a moment, her impression of her little brother once again renewed.

"What can I do? I'm too popular." Akira shrugged and said shameless.

"Narcissistic." Nino scoffed.

"While waiting for the pastry to cook, tell me about them. I want to know my little brother's childhood friend." Nino said while smiling, but she didn't show a smile.

"If Nino-Nee objects, it's a long story, you know."

"We have plenty of time."
