2 Demon Prince’s New Life

In a large bedroom, a figure was resting on a bed. They appeared to be a young boy, who hadn't yet reached manhood, with child-like or feminine facial features. His chest was bare, and underneath his skin, it seemed as though he had more than one heart beating.

Inside his body, a strange parasite was undulating against one of his kidneys. As it spread it's tentacle-like darkness fully through the organ, it moved to a lung, and then the heart, then a few more organs, until 7 were completely infected by the darkness. This would allow them to produce it naturally, however the boy would die, should they be removed or destroyed.

The boy groaned as he turned, a small black symbol beginning to appear on his forehead, above his left eye.

I woke up, feeling super groggy, and my chest hurt a little bit. I tried to sit up, but my vision swam with black and I almost passed out. I sat there for a while, trying to gather my thoughts. I felt a little discomfort in my back, but I assumed it was from laying down for so long. I called Gloxinia to me, having it take it's spear form.

I walked to the bathroom, and I noticed that my eyes had changed from their previous yellow color to a deep purple. And there was a strange mark above one of my eyes. Wait… am I.. a Demon? How is that possible, I was a Fairy just… actually, I had no idea how long it had been. I thought to myself, 'How funny would it be if I'd sprouted wings while I was unconscious, haha,' turning around in the mirror to view my back.

Let's just say, I was speechless. There, on my back, was a pair of butterfly-like wings, still maturing, they had a film over them, and they clung to my back as though they were frozen. I went back into the main room, hiding in Gloxinia's Tenth form. I stayed there for a long time, unaware of the passing time.

I heard a knock on the door, and a familiar blonde boy walked into my room. I said nothing, simply staring at him. "What's up, Esta? How ya feeling?" His voice was loud. It gave me a headache. He still had that little smile on his face, although it was a lot friendlier than when he was in my quarters in Camelot.

Seeing that I wasn't going to answer him, he continued on. "Well, since you're finally awake, I was thinking that you should get started on your training right away," He said, looking unconcerned, "And since you don't look strong enough to train under Cusack at the moment, I asked Chandler if he would stop by to teach you everything. He should be arriving any second now, actually."

As though the universe had heard his words, a knock sounded on the door. When Meliodas opened it, a small, portly man walked through the door. He had green-ish hair and pointy teeth. He bowed deeply, and I thought he would tumble over. "Why, good morning, Lord Meliodas! And good morning, Lord Estarossa! I didn't think I would see you here together. Ah, may I enter the chambers?" He spoke weirdly, as though if he said the wrong thing he was scared of being punished.

When Meliodas nodded, he hurried inside, closing the door behind him. He began speaking immediately, and I could see a bead of sweat resting on his temple. "Now, young master, since I was asked to train you, I thought that I would instruct you in how to use an incredibly strong technique, Full Counter. Me and Lord Meliodas both are able to use the Magical variant, though I have never met someone able to use the Physical variant. Please, young master, if you would follow me, I wish to instruct you in the confines of my own tower."

He began moving, and I was left with no chance but to follow. A few minutes later, we were in his tower, with a small wooden sword in my hand. Gloxinia was floating besides me, but I had no use of it at the moment, so I let it rest.

"Now, young master, the first step to learning Full Counter is that you must know the following; You cannot initiate an attack, and you cannot Counter an attack that does not fall within your variant. Do you understand?" With my nod, he continued, "Now, with your stick, I want you to focus your magic power into the tip of it, and then swing it. Well, go on!"

I began to do so, focusing on the tip of the wooden sword. I swung it, and left Chandler with a confused look on his face. He then asked me to do it again, to which I did. His expression became one of thought, and he nodded. He bid me to follow him, and he let me to a courtyard full of strange cannon-like structures. When I looked at him, he smiled mischievously.

"This, young master, is where you will begin your practical training! Since I sensed that you had proficiency in the Magical variant, these cannons will fire spells at you, and you are to counter them! Remember, shouting the words 'Full Counter' helps with reflecting, although it isn't required. Now, let us begin!"

He clapped, and one of the cannons began making a whirring noise. I readied myself, still holding the stick. From the cannon, a small ball of fire flew towards me. I swung the stick, catching the fireball with the tip, and mumbling "Full Counter," and I heard a loud ringing, before the fireball doubled in size, hurdling back towards the cannon. Chandler clapped vigorously, yelling, "Well done, well done! Now that you have it down, do it 300 more times, so we can move on to the next part of our training!"

The next hour was filled with the monotony of a small boom, a swing, a ring, and a louder boom. I made good progress, though, managing a Counter every 12 seconds. I had accidentally destroyed a few of the cannons, but Chandler acted as though this was normal. Once I had finished, he told me to rest before we move on.

After an hour, I heard the Pacifier Fiend tell me to stand and follow him. I did so, an ache resting deep in my bones. We came to a courtyard, and it was full of small, human sized creatures that looked like miniature versions of the tall Albions.

"Now, young master. We begin your practical training today! I have a small theory that I've been letting simmer, and now I'm going to test it. I want you to Counter the Aalbion's attack."

I looked as him, bewildered. Hadn't he told me that you could only counter one of the two? So what was he talking about? Well, not like I can fight against him anytime soon. I walked up to the Aalbion and fell into the stance that I had spent drilling in for an hour. The Aalbion swung it's arm back, and it shot towards me like a whip.

When it came near, I channeled my Magic into the tip of my stick and swung it at the attack. I heard a ring, and the Aalbion fell back, it's body split down the middle. I took a step back in shock. How did I do that? I thought I could only preform Magical Full Counter? I shook my head and turned to Chandler.

"Well done, young master," He said, clapping his hands enthusiastically, "I thought this was the case. With enough practice, you could be stronger than Lord Meliodas and Lord Zeldris combined! Now, just as before! Preform Full Counter 200 times!"

I groaned. It was just my luck. First I get kidnapped, then I'm forced to train in hellish—literally— conditions. Although, maybe this could help me. Maybe I could go back to ruling the Forest, where all my friends are, once I finished this training, if I wanted to run away.

I fell to the ground, panting. This truly was hell. I couldn't feel my arms, I couldn't feel my legs. My lungs felt like they were on fire, and I could have sworn I was suffocating. I wanted to hate Chandler for making me do this, I really did. But, for some reason, I just couldn't. I felt more empty than anything else.

"Chan-dler, are.. we done.. yet? I did.. as you asked.." I could barely say a full sentence without panting between words. Chandler stared at me and nodded. I stood, and I began to walk towards him, using Gloxinia as a walking stick. He began to fly back towards his tower, beckoning me to follow him. I did so, and when we finally arrived in the tower, I sat down, putting my hands to my eyes. I hadn't realized I had passed out until I woke up four hours later.
