Highschool of the dead

( Reina's POV )

Yuuki wouldn't call all of us just to tell a joke or maybe he would but he sounded pretty serious, but still, zombies seriously?

I think I prefer those giant animals with uniforms.

After receiving Yuuki's message, Felli, Saya-shi, and I got up from our desks quickly and I raised my hand, our teacher gave us a surprised look and she stopped the class.

Reina: Excuse me, can I go to the infirmary? My stomach hurts.

Felli: mine too.

Saya-shi: I'll take them there.

We left the room quickly without waiting for our teacher's response and when we were far enough away we started talking.

Saya-shi: Sooo, what exactly are we supposed to do?

Reina: we have to secure all entrances and exits, make sure there are no zombies inside the school, avoid bites and scratches and move all the uninfected to a safe place, come on that's zombie apocalypse 101.

Saya-shi: s-shut up, you know that I don't like that kind of movies.

Reina: Felli, make a connection with Matsu, we need more information.

Felli: huh.

Reina: [ hey Matsu, can you give us more details on the situation? ]

Matsu: [ all I can say at this point is that anyone over fifty-five turned into zombies without being attacked and also some over thirty-five, the time before the change depends on each person but it does not exceed ten minutes, We don't know how it will affect us Sekireis but you guys should avoid getting too close. ]

Well, the age thing is weird, a zombie virus is normally quite indiscriminate, but then again this isn't a movie.

Reina: [ over fifty-five, I think only the principal and a couple of teachers fit that description. ]

Kaie: [ Akitsu and I will take care of them, you guys should make sure nothing gets into the school. ]

Reina: [ All right, let's meet in the infirmary when we're done. ]

Reina: you take care of the door for me ok, I need to go somewhere else first.

Feli: where?

Reina: the Kendo club.

Weapons are an important part of the zombie apocalypse so I borrowed some bokkens from the club and headed to the school entrance, As soon as I stepped foot outside the club I heard an annoying voice behind me.

Saya: Hey, what are you guys doing now?

Reina: What makes you think something is going on?

Saya: Please, from the way the three of you left the room it's obvious that something is going on and Yuuki is probably involved.

Well I was hoping she wouldn't notice but that's probably too much to ask, aside from Saya I saw Kohta lurking behind her, Rei probably went after her sister and I'm sure my sisters followed Akitsu and Kaie when they left their classroom.

Reina: no matter what I say you won't believe me, just come with me, you too Kohta.

Saya narrowed her eyes at me but she decided to follow me without asking questions while Kohta followed us while keeping his distance, at the entrance of the school where Felli and Saya-shi were waiting for me, also as I expected Rei had followed her sister here, what did surprise me is that Takashi and Hisashi didn't follow her like they always do.

When we got closer we saw that with nothing to bar the entrance Saya-shi simply twist part of the gate together with her hands to prevent anyone from opening it, seeing that, Saya couldn't keep silent anymore and she started questioning us.

Saya: how did you do that? Why are you blocking the gate?

Felli: so the zombies can't get in.

Saya: zombies? Are you an idiot, this is not a movie.

Reina: I knew you wouldn't believe us, what do you say about that then?

I pointed outside the school where something was slowly walking towards us, Our conversation attracted a lone zombie who approached mindlessly and rammed himself into the school gate over and over again, he was the slow zombie type and also seemed unable to see, I hit the door with my Bokken and the zombie took it and tried to bite it, he was strong if I wasn't a Sekirei he would have snatched it from me.

Reina: how do you explain this genius?

The zombie appeared to be an office worker with a large hole in his left side, no one would be walking through our school with a wound like that, and Saya easily realized all of that.

I raised my Bokken ready to break the zombie's head but just before it hits I stopped.

???: Hey you, what are you doing over there?

Three teachers noticed the ruckus we were making and one of them was Yuuki's teacher, They walked over to where we were but they quickly turned their attention to the zombie slamming into the door.

Teacher: what's wrong with this guy, maybe he's drunk, hey get out of here!

Reina: no, don't come near!

The teacher pulled the zombie by his collar to intimidate him but that was useless, the zombie just gave him a big bite on his arm.

Teacher: ARGHH!

the teacher could only scream in pain before falling dead and becoming another zombie, another teacher went to check on him but that was a mistake, the zombie lunged for her neck, I activated my kagune and pierced his head millimeters before he could bite the teacher's neck and immediately after I pointed my kagune at her.

Reina: hey if you don't want to end up with a hole in your head you have to listen to me, there are a lot more of those things outside the school so start evacuating everyone to the auditorium and do it calmly the last thing we need is people running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Teacher: O-Ok I will do that.

The teachers ran out and I finished off the zombie that was still banging against the door.

Saya-shi: Was the threat really necessary?

Saya: With such an unbelievable situation, I doubt they would have listened otherwise.

Reina: It bothers me that you agree with my methods, but I guess it's preferable to wasting time arguing.

I wiped the zombie blood off my Kagune just to make sure it didn't infect me and having taken care of that matter we headed to the infirmary to meet with the others but there was an uninvited guest there.
