end of the first day.

( Yuuki's POV )

When we met in the teacher's lounge, Sif brought Mamako and Eu with us since the school was more or less safe, and now that we were all together, plus a few extras, we could plan our next move.

Yuuki: Before we start, could you tell me who our new friends are?

Misuzu: My name is Ichijou Misuzu.

Toshimi: mine is Niki Toshimi.

Rei: They were running from the zombies together with Takashi and Hisashi.

Saeko: the other is Ichi Kazu, he saved Shizuka from a zombie attack.

Yuuki: seriously?

Saeko: Well, she was safe inside a barrier but Ishi-kun here took care of him before I got there.

Shizuka hadn't stopped hugging me and it looked kind of weird when I walked toward Kazu and I put my hands on his shoulders and looked him straight in the eyes and he trembled a little.

Yuuki: Thank you for protecting my family.

Saeko: go easy on him, there's no need to bully him~.

I was very serious when I was thanking him and the poor guy was too scared so I walked away a bit.

Yuuki: well let's move on to what should be on everyone's mind, why is all this happening?

Saya: you know something? You don't seem too concerned with the situation.

Yuuki: I have some theories, but what I can tell you for sure is why none of you turned.

During my day-long training with Ana, I finally woke up my Kagunes and I activated my Koukaku as a demonstration, It was a long purple arm full of blue cracks, long fingers like knives and through the forearm, it had a long stake that could be fired like a pile bunker.

Yuuki: this is a Kagune, some time ago I discovered this new organ within the majority of the population, this morning everyone who did not have this new organ died suddenly, the older you are the less likely you are to have this organ.

The reason for so much chaos is that the people with enough authority to act in this situation were most likely the first to die, a military friend of Shizuka called me a while ago to tell me to take the weapons in her house and save Shizuka meanwhile the police are blocking the bridges, it is obvious that no one has the situation under control.

Nobody is going to come to save us so we have to take care of ourselves, so tomorrow we will use the school buses to escape from the city.

Saya: tomorrow? Why wait?

Yuuki: It will be safer that way, as I already said the city is in chaos, get ready ok, we need to talk to the other survivors.

When we entered the auditorium everyone looked at us in silence as we headed to the podium but before we got there a couple of teachers stopped us, I think one was Hayashi Kyoko and the other was my teacher Kirisu Mafuyu.

Yuuki: oh hello sensei, can I help you with something?

Mafuyu was momentarily surprised by my clothing and all the weapons I carried, besides my carefree attitude hadn't changed yet in the zombie apocalypse, naturally, the teachers demanded an explanation about everything and I explained as best I could in a way that they could accept, they were taking me seriously but their expressions said they didn't like what they were hearing, when I finished speaking I kept walking towards the podium but they stopped me once more.

Hayashi: wait, I still think we should wait for help, the school is safe now.

Yuuki: didn't you hear what I said, no one is coming to save us, this is a worldwide crisis and the school gates will not withstand the attack of a horde.

Hayashi: you don't know that.

Mafuyu: please Yuuki, you are just a student, we are the adults here.

Yuuki: I don't care about any of that, I know more about the situation and I can't stay without doing anything, someone has to take charge and that's me, of course, I'm not going to refuse anyone's help.

I took the hands of the two teachers and took them with me to the podium, the girls were in their DS uniforms, and in front of us all the surviving students were scared and restless and some looked like empty shells.

The first thing I did was scream at the top of my lungs to get everyone out of the sorry state they were in and once again explain what was happening, I didn't expect them to recover immediately but at least they no longer seemed dead inside.

Since we weren't going to come back here after tomorrow I took everyone who could help to gather all the food in the cafeteria, we kept everything canned or packaged and fed the survivors with everything that could spoil, and that increased morale a little more.

In our Kohta team, Stella and I were the best snipers so we were on the roof of the school headshoting any zombie that came near the school while the others made sure the buses were ready for our escape.

* Yawn *

Saya: Idiot, you haven't been getting enough sleep again have you?

I can go several days without sleeping before it affects me but I haven't slept much since I met Eu.

Saya: you have to take more care of your health, what will become of us if something happens to you?

Yuuki: I'm fine, nothing a nap can't fix.

Saya sat next to me and she was a little blushed, she glanced at me several times and I put my rifle aside and I looked at her questioningly.

Saya: You're not going to have a good sleep on the roof, I g-guess I have to do something.

Saya patted her thighs tentatively and I accepted her invitation, with my head resting on her lap I could feel her temperature rising and her heart beating faster, when Saya couldn't stand her embarrassment she started talking to distract herself.

Saya: y-you taught the others to use weapons right? Can you teach me too?

Yuuki: I thought you didn't like weapons, you never liked it when Kohta and I talked about it.

Saya: you already gave me a weapon without me knowing, the least you should do is tell me how to use it.

Saya points to the barrier bracelet that I had given her and I shrugged my shoulders, I made myself even more comfortable on Saya's thighs, and I gave her clear instructions on how to use it, Saya was almost as bad as Tsukiumi when she started so I moved on to the next thing, Materia, she had no problem with that and she could kill zombies from a long distance with fire and wind bullets, as expected of a genius.

At some point, while Saya was still practicing I fell asleep, ending the first day of the zombie apocalypse.
