209 Megumi doubts. Naruto learns the truth?

With a soft frown, Megumi walked around the village in disguise under a clone transformation as he wondered about the problem he was facing.

'Is there really no way to kill him?'

'If only we could learn how to kill him, everything would be so much easier.'

'I can't even spy on him since he is either in a domain or uses Obito's Sharingan to travel around.'

'I need to plant a spy into Akatsuki somehow.'

'But who can qualify as a spy enough that flies under Hagoromo's radar but is still accepted by the group?'

'Itachi?'

'No, he's naive enough to be turned against me. Same reason why I haven't extended an invitation to him yet.'

'Who can I send over to Hagoromo so that I can gleam more information about him?'

Kicking a pebble on the road, Megumi walked over to the SCP foundation building and waited for Sakura's order to teleport all of them from Konoha to Mugenjutsugakure.

"Tsunade-sensei! Are you ready to get teleported!?"

"I hate being teleported by Megumi using that stupid method. It feels nauseating."

"Who doesn't hate it."

"Haha! Lucky you two me and Hashi don't have to bear the terrible feeling you will get." Mito teased as Hashirama laughed heartily in the background.

"Mom! Ready?" Sakura asked as she spotted Mebuki and Kizashi stepping out of the house.

"Yeah! Tell him we're ready too." Mebuki said with a smile, ready to meet her son after the violence from the morning.

'Megi! We're ready!' Sakura communicated gripping tighter the clothes she'd picked for Megumi to change into so that they would be wearing matching clothes.

'Alright, brace for impac-'

"Damn you! Megi!"

Before anyone else could realize they were being teleported, Megumi teleported everyone to himself causing Sakura to curse at him while holding her early morning meal from escaping out of her mouth after cursing at Megumi.

"What do you think!? Was teleporting you without warning bet-?"

Megumi swallowed his question as everyone glared at him excluding Mito and Hashirama who both did their best to shield him from the onslaught that was waiting to happen in case they exposed Megumi to the annoyed stares of everyone present.

"Were are we?" Mebuki asked after barely holding herself from puking like her daughter.

"Mom! We're in the best building of the century!" Megumi proclaimed as he showed off the admittedly unappealing plain concrete walls to Mebuki who was confused like Kizashi.

"Best building? This looks rather bland even by the standards of our house in Konoha."

"Ehh…well wait a second." Megumi compensated for his mistake by waving his hands like a wizard as the roof above their head vanished by folding upon itself, only to reveal a grand building with an endless ceiling and immensely tall walls with circuitry seals crawling all over the building.

"..." Speechless by the sudden turn of events Mebuki and Kizashi held their mouths open until Kizashi was forced out of his state as a fly divebombed right into his throat, causing him to bend over into a fit of coughs until the wet fly was out.

"What in the world…?" Kizashi asked Megumi with a stunned expression as Megumi himself smirked and launched back a question.

"Ready to switch allegiances from Konoha to Mugenjutsugakure?"

"Oh.. so you know?" Mebuki asked a little saddened but Megumi cleared it up.

"I don't care what you do. I'm sure you're doing important work for the Kage, just don't leak out my secrets on purpose." Megumi explained with appropriate hand waving allowing Mebuki and Kizashi's tense muscles to relax by a smidgen.

"How did you find out?" Mebuki asked while shuffling Megumi's hair and dragging him along as everyone walked out of the building.

"It wasn't hard to notice you were gone along with Dad when Konoha was attacked in the morning!"

"That was too easy! I hadn't planned it on being like this at all."

"It's alright Ma, I understand."

"Me and Kizashi wanted to tell the two of you about it much sooner, but the last three months, we just never found the right moment to spill our secrets."

"Hehe, but I already realized long ago about something being amiss with you and Dad."

"At least you're sharper than Sakura. I don't even think she knew before today that we were part of the Konoha ANBU force."

"Mom! You're embarrassing me!!" Sakura raised her voice in concern but Mebuki ignored her and Megumi smirked to show his superior dominance.

"Hmpf. We'll see who's sleeping on the couch tonight." Sakura mumbled but it was clearly audible to everyone as they formed a happy smile at Megumi and Sakura's antics.

"The New Year celebrations are going to be epic!" Megumi cheered as Mebuki looked on at him in confusion.

"Were you involved in the preparations?" Kizashi asked the question Mebuki had.

"No Dad, but I know it'll be epic!"

"How so?"

"Because Seramu baa-san was involved in its preparation! She said she would have fun setting this up and wanted to see our reactions to it today! She even saved us the best seats!"

"Seats?"

"Yep! Everyone has a seat and the performance will happen on a stage in the performance grounds."

"Interesting." Mebuki and Kizashi nodded as Tsunade and Mito had an excited look.

"Hashirama jii sama!" Megumi called the old man who was busy blowing soap bubbles, a trinket he had purchased from a street kid while everyone was busy talking.

"What happened?" Hashirama asked.

"What happened to Tobirama Senju?" Megumi asked him a question that had been bugging him for a while.

Everyone froze in their steps at the question but Hashirama laughed and explained in a happy tone, "He's waiting."

"Waiting?" Megumi asked confused.

"Yes, waiting for you to find him." Mito completed.

"What?" Megumi and Sakura asked together, confused.

"He's protecting something that needs to be carefully protected. Otherwise, the world will fall into imbalance." Hashirama explained with a soft smile on his face.

Megumi shook his head in rejection after realizing he wouldn't get anything of substance from the old man and continued walking towards the venue for the evening's program.

"Mom, are you launching your clothing store today too?"

"Yeah, I figured since the Grimoire is already being sold in Konoha, it wouldn't be much of a problem if the clothing store was set up in Mugen instead."

"That's great! People will have a new reason to visit this village then."

"How many people are already arriving in the village?" Mito asked.

"It's about six hundred people every day currently."

"That's too low for the village to survive with how much you spend on food and shelter." Mito reasoned.

"True, but I'll soon be launching the jutsu store, which should nearly double our numbers if not triple them."

"Wouldn't that just be temporary?"

"Yeah, they'll stop after making their own copies of the scrolls."

"So how're you planning on keeping the flow?"

"I don't need the flow, all I need is money."

"Potootu, potutu."

"..."

Ignoring the wrong usage of the phrase, Megumi continued.

"No, all I want from people coming to our village is for them to learn that we sell all sorts of things in our village."

"So what?"

"So that when the internet is launched, we can set up virtual stores for them to purchase things from."

"Virtual stores?"

"Yep, they can go to their closest Haruno store and pay money to receive things inside their Grimoires."

"How will they get things inside their Grimoire?"

"Of course, it doesn't extend to all things like clothes, but for example, why would you go out of your way to purchase a scroll when you can get the same jutsu in your Grimoire for cheaper? Or things like books to learn circuitry sealing."

"And other people can't copy that?"

"They could, but I'll take them down immediately. Why am I going to let them sell the same things as me when they just copy my work?"

"..." Mito turned quiet after a few seconds as she contemplated what Megumi was talking about.

"By the way Rura, why did Naruto see Kurama in the AR glasses?"

"Huh? He did?"

"Yeah, I asked him to ask his Mom and Dad about it."

"I don't know, I just modified the seal from the Grimoire a little bit while using it to consume less chakra."

"Which part?"

"The part that handles the genjutsu creation."

"Oh, I know what you did. You removed the feature that allows multiple people to use the same device."

"Yeah, 'cause I didn't need that for my product, I mean two people can't use the AR glasses at once right."

"So that's why!"

"That's why what?"

"That's why Naruto and the Kyuubi can see each other."

"How so?"

"Because in the Grimoire every single person subjected to the genjutsu will have their own instance of the genjutsu while in your AR glasses everyone will share the same instance."

"Oh! So the Kyuubi and Naruto can see each other because they're sharing the genjutsu of the AR glasses?"

"Exactly."

"The Hokage is not going to like that his son now knows the secret even before he's become a genin."

"...not our problem." Megumi shrugged and Tsunade accepted his reasoning since the secret wasn't revealed to a third party but only to Naruto, the jinchuriki himself.

Far away in Konoha, a nuclear family was dressing up.

"Dad! Look I went to the Haruno store today!"

"Huh? Great. Do they have a new product?" Minato asked dressing himself up in front of the mirror.

"Yes! And it's awesome!" Naruto exclaimed like Might Guy with a great smile on his face.

"Oh? What is it? Another new manga collection?"

"No! It's AR glasses!" Naruto exclaimed as he pointed at the glasses on his face.

Minato spared a glance at them and did a double take when he saw the glasses on Naruto's face.

"Oh? Give them to me for a second."

"Yeah, here. You can have them."

Minato placed the glasses on his face and passed a string of chakra to connect them to himself using genjutsu as a virtual interface popped up in his view.

"This looks cool." Minato's eyes shone as he lost himself in thoughts wondering how the new shinobi could use such glasses to help themselves during missions.

But a simple question from Naruto brought him back to Earth.

"Dad, can you see an orange fox with nine tails in your vision too?"

"Nnn- Wait what did you say again!?" Minato asked while Kushina peeked at the two of them from her dressing room.

"What did you say my little child?"

"I'm not a little child anymore Mom! I'm almost going to be a genin!"

"Fine, but what did you just say!?"

"I was asking dad if he could see a nine tailed orange fox in his vision too!"

"!!!"

Kushina's heartbeat sped up as did Minato's when they both shared a knowing glance.

"Did you tell this to anyone else Naruto?" Kushina immediately asked.

"Well, I did tell the person who was telling me about it but he just asked me to talk to you. Why? Is it something bad?"

Minato and Kushina shared a look and asked Naruto more questions.

"Who was this person?"

"He is the fiancee of Sakura-chan!" Naruto said with a blush.

Skipping the blush on his cheeks, for now, Kushina asked Naruto another question.

"Anyone else?"

"No Mom! I came back here straight away after I left the store. You'd asked me to come back early so I was here."

"Fine."

Kushina nodded.

"So do you know anything about the fox Mum?"

"....*sigh*"

"This is going to be a long story.", Minato whispered.

"What we're about to tell you is a top secret in the village!" Minato urged Naruto, in hopes that he'd drop the topic.

But looking at Naruto whose eyes widened for a second but instantly turned into stars clearly showed them that their decision to keep it from him was the right one for now.

Naruto wasn't ready to learn the truth about what had happened years ago on his birthday.
