Ch 48:- Do I look like Nosferatu
The next morning, or afternoon, Rayne woke up with a hunger pang, but it didn't bother him as much as it did during his beast hunt. As he stood up from the bathtub, he wobbled, causing him to fall face down, but at the last moment, he put his hand down, halting his fall. He then stood up again before turning his head around and seeing himself in the mirror. He was shocked by what he saw. He looked like a shriveled-up corpse with deathly pale skin. "What the hell happened to me?" Rayne said.
[Nothing. Your body resorted to self-cannibalism since you weren't near any source of blood to supply yourself with after fighting 175 beasts without rest to complete the evolution process. But congratulations, you at least didn't end up as a pile of ashes by the end of the day.]
"Really? What is wrong with you? It's not the time for that kind of joke," Rayne said as he looked at his reflection with seriousness. He then summoned his system interface, and there, he saw that he had seven unread messages.
[Evolution process was successful.]

"Did my stats get reduced once again, and why is the Day Walker disabled?" Rayne asked.

"Okay, I guess," Rayne replied.
After cleaning himself with a towel, he stepped out of the bathroom. The smell of human blood assaulted his senses once again. He looked around his room frantically to spot where it was coming from, but he was unable to find anything. He then went to the closet and took out a school uniform. As he wore it, he noticed that it had become baggy. Not wanting to risk exposing himself to the sun, he took out a black hoodie and a pair of cargo pants to go along with it. After getting dressed, he exited his room. As soon as he stepped outside, he smelled the sweet smell of human blood. Looking at them, all he saw were delicious beating hearts and veins supplying blood throughout the body. He soon shook his head before making his way towards the cafeteria to see if he could eat anything.
As he walked towards the cafeteria, he heard students talking about some kind of beast exiting from one of the portals and killing some students. "What the hell is happening?" Rayne thought to himself.
Feeling intrigued, he checked his wristband to see what they were talking about. There he saw a message that was posted yesterday about a possible beast attack. He shrugged it off after reading a little bit before making his way to the aisle where he started to check the menu to see if there was anything for him to eat. Unfortunately, there was none according to the system. Feeling unsatisfied, he started to make his way outside of the academy. He stopped right before exiting. There was a clear border between the shadow of the school and the sun that was outside. He slowly took out his hand from his pocket before extending it to the sun. As soon as the sun's rays hit him, nothing happened, but soon a burning sensation started to form, which caused him to retract his hand before seeing it. He then put his hand in his pocket, extended the hood a little bit, covering more and casting a dark shadow on his face. He then started to make his way through the city, looking at people and possible prey that he could hunt. At that moment, a flyer came flying and stuck to his face. He removed it before seeing that it was a special day restaurant sale advertisement poster. But that is not what caught his attention. It was the food item itself that they were selling. They were all blood-related, like ox blood soup, chicken blood fries, pig blood stew, and many more. Seeing all of these, he unconsciously started to salivate.
He immediately made his way there, but as he opened the door, he remembered something. He couldn't eat red meat as he had an allergy to it when he was small in both the world. But then also, he decided to give it a try, thinking that it could have been cured after becoming a vampire. So after entering and choosing a dark corner, he sat down and then ordered a bowl of ox blood soup. After waiting for a while, it finally arrived, and as soon as the waiter left, he started to gobble it down like some kind of starved person who hadn't eaten for days. He instinctively only ate the coagulated boiled ox blood, leaving everything else aside. He then went on and drank the soup, which also tasted good. After that, he ordered two more but asked them not to add beef and instead add as much ox blood. Finally, after three meals, he finally felt satisfied, and his hunger subsided somewhat. He felt much more energized than before, but there was still this feeling of yearning for human blood. After that, he paid and left that place and decided to go to the hospital to see if there was some way he could steal some blood. After entering the hospital, he explored the whole place before standing in front of a blood bank. He then made his way towards the receptionist, who looked quite beautiful. He asked about everything regarding charges of curing anemia and many more. At that moment, an idea sprouted in his mind, but for that idea to work, he needed to make her lower her guard. But that was not possible with his condition right now. He looked like some kind of shady guy due to his outfit and appearance. After that, he exited the hospital and started to make his way towards the academy. On his way, he noticed that his condition was getting better. His healing factor had kicked in, which was good. He could have gone to Hayley, but that was a no-no as she was investigating the beast attack, which Rayne was somehow sure was not a beast attack. After entering his room, he got out of his clothes before entering the bathroom, and sure enough, he was starting to look better. He went to his laptop and searched for blood. There, it showed different things.
Not finding any suitable results, he searched for animal blood online and found hundreds of dealers. After all, vampires and humans alike sometimes crave blood and animal blood seemed like a suitable option for now, especially with the recent commotion. However, he couldn't risk getting exposed, so he contacted a dealer and ordered three gallons of ox blood. Soon, it arrived at the storage unit along with a mini fridge that he had also ordered. He brought both items to his dorm room, set up the fridge, and threw the blood bags inside. He took out some blood and started eating it.
After satisfying his hunger, he started feeling sleepy and eventually dozed off on his chair while working on a blueprint on his laptop.
As he slept, his recovery speed accelerated and soon he was at his most optimal state. At around 7:00 pm, Rayne woke up, and as he stretched his body, he put full pressure on the armchair, causing it to crumble under his hand. He looked at his hand before rushing to the bathroom to look at the mirror, where he was shocked by the reflection staring back at him. A stunningly handsome man looked back with an angular face, porcelain skin, and brown eyes with red tint to them. He had grown a few inches, which was previously inexplicable. If he previously looked like Nosferatu, he now looked more human, but there was something different about it that he just couldn't pinpoint. Nonetheless, he wanted to confirm whether all his stats had returned to normal or not.

"Sigh, it's relieving to know that it has returned to normal," Rayne said with a sense of relief in his voice.
"Now I can focus on the body tempering art, now that I have fully recovered," Rayne said as he summoned a book. It was the exclusive edition of the body tempering book, which he had received as a reward, and it was a physical copy. As he started reading it, a strange scent filled his nostrils through the open window as a breeze blew in from the forest. His eyes glowed red, and his face twisted into a snarl, revealing his fangs in full display.He now had a pair of fangs on either side on his upper jaw they had replaced the canines, accompanied by another pair on the lower jaw, which were smaller than the rest. In the next moment, Rayne vanished from his spot.
