46 Ch 46:- Beast Hunt

Rayne could be seen building something in his room, with several boxes and crates littered around him. He was constructing a fabricator, a unique device from his home world. Although the ones found on his planet were chunky and bulky, Rayne's creation was nothing like that. He had created a hybrid of different types of fabricators found throughout the universe, making it the ultimate fabricator, and it was named the Superior Fabricator.

The cost to order all the parts for the fabricator was nearly 66,542 credits, which made Rayne cry when he saw how much money was being used. However, he was able to get a 30 percent discount for the usage of his special privilege card. Without the card, the original price would have been 95,050 credits.

After finishing the construction of the fabricator, Rayne looked at his handiwork. The Superior Fabricator was a true masterpiece of engineering and aesthetics. The machine was a stunning combination of form and function, with a sleek and modern design that was both elegant and functional.

The exterior of the Superior Fabricator was crafted from polished Stainless Steel, giving it a luxurious and high-end feel. The steel was carefully treated to create a shimmering effect that changed depending on the angle of the light. The machine was designed to be the centerpiece of any room, with a bold and eye-catching design that demanded attention.

The control panel was a work of art in itself. It was a series of touchscreen displays that were seamlessly integrated into the machine's design. The screens were encased in a clear, tempered glass panel that gave the control panel a futuristic feel. The buttons and switches were designed to be both stylish and functional, with a minimalist aesthetic that complemented the overall design of the machine.

A broad grin spread across Rayne's face as he admired his handiwork. "I'm a genius," he thought to himself. "To be able to build something this amazing in such a short amount of time... I must be some kind of prodigy."

But his moment of self-congratulation was interrupted by the sudden voice of his system.

[But didn't I design the whole thing as well?]

[You only provided me with the idea of building a fabricator, but I did the rest. I enhanced it by mixing in knowledge from different universes to build the perfect one. You only followed my instructions to build it.]

Rayne's grin faltered slightly as he realized the truth of the system's words. He had provided the initial idea for the fabricator, but it was the system that had done most of the heavy lifting. Still, he couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.

"Yeah, I know that," he said, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "I couldn't have done it without you. You're the real genius here."

"So, what do you think we should try first?" Rayne asked.

[Well, I don't know. There are many things you could make, but we don't really have any blueprints at the moment. The only blueprint we have is for a portable portal.]

"Yeah, I guess we can only make that," Rayne said.

After that, Rayne went to the table where he had connected his laptop to the fabricator. He started to download the blueprint of the portal from the laptop into the fabricator, watching the progress slowly. He yawned a little bit before deciding to summon his system status screen.

Seeing his stats, Rayne was shocked and said, "These stats are so pathetic. I wonder how I even survived against the Dalki. Was it what people call plot armor? But that can't be it because I was on the verge of death and only managed to survive by draining the blood of the Dalki, which only managed to heal me somewhat. But it doesn't change the fact that I am so weak," Rayne said, looking at himself with disgust.

"If only I still had soul force, I would be so much stronger. All you needed to do to become stronger was to kill and level up. It was really easy, like a game. But now, all that is lost, and I need to do it like normal people," Rayne said, leaning back in his chair. His eyes fell on the lantern, and an idea sprouted in his mind, causing him to smile.

"What is a better way to improve than fighting bare-fisted without any armor with a bunch of beasts?" At that moment, a ding sound appeared, and he saw a Quest from his system being initiated. He couldn't believe what he saw.

[Quest: Self-Discovery

"Holy Moly macaroni, what is this, a recipe for a barbecue party or a quest from hell?!" Rayne exclaimed.

He looked at the quest requirements again and shook his head in disbelief. "I mean, I know I need to get stronger, but do they really expect me to fight beasts without any armor, weapons or help? It's like they want me to be the main dish for these creatures!"

He chuckled at his own joke, but the thought of facing so many beasts without any protection made him shudder. "Well, I guess I'll have to rely on my fists and my wits. And maybe some luck, if the gods are feeling generous," he said with a grin.

Rayne took a deep breath and looked at the time limit. "40 hours to kill 176 beasts, including an King Tier? Piece of cake! Except, you know, for the fact that I could end up as the cake if I'm not careful," he said to no one in particular.

With a shrug, he accepted the quest and got ready to face the challenge. As he got up from his chair, he couldn't help but think of the optional task to face an Emperor Tier beast. "Why not stretch my luck even further? Yeah, sure, why not just jump into the mouth of the beast and be done with it," he muttered to himself sarcastically.

"What I need now is a plan, a good plan," Rayne muttered to himself as he scratched his head. "What kind of plan do I need? It's not like these beasts can do tactical thinking."

He paused for a moment before continuing. "Okay, I know what I need. Phase one will be scouting out possible beast areas. Then, phase two will involve preparing by getting some blood bags. Now that I think about it, do they even sell those things online? I can't get distracted now. As for phase three, it's simple: attack them all."

Rayne shook his head and chuckled at his own naivety. "Yeah, like it's that easy. But hey, at least I have a plan."

Rayne continued his search for blood bags online but unfortunately, he couldn't find any. He decided to try his luck on the dark web, hoping to find some shady dealer who would sell him what he needed. As he navigated through the dark web, he stumbled upon some disturbing things that he couldn't unsee. Dead fetuses, human limbs, and other grotesque items were being sold on the website. Rayne not liking what he was seeing quickly closed the page, deciding that he would rather go without the blood bags than risk getting involved with such depraved activities.

Rayne set to work making talismans, preparing himself for whatever challenges lay ahead. After crafting about twenty of them, he headed to the lantern. Under the mist, one could see a faint scroll, barely visible. Rayne stepped onto it, and in an instant, he was teleported to Planet Pioletic. This was the only planet, besides Planet Caladi, that he had access to. Luckily, the beasts on this planet were weaker than those on planet Caladi.

Once he arrived, Rayne found himself on the rooftop of a building where the other scroll was kept. He used his Tree Walking technique to descend the wall and set out to explore the city. Along the way, he came across a hole in the ground. The smell emanating from it suggested that it led to a sewer system. Not wanting to alert any beasts, he tried to summon an invisibility talisman from his system inventory. However, a system prompt appeared, blocking his attempt.

[You are blocked from using your inventory. Try again later.]

Rayne grumbled under his breath, "Great, just when I needed an invisibility talisman the most, I'm blocked from using my inventory. This is like trying to fight a boss without any potions."

The system responded [Well, maybe next time you'll remember the rules. No help means no help, buddy. You're on your own now. See ya!]

Rayne rolled his eyes and muttered, "Yeah, thanks for nothing."

Rayne steeled himself, crouching down and relying on his vampiric senses to guide him through the sewage system's walls. As he silently moved through the darkness, he spotted a rat-like beast feasting on the corpse of another creature. Seeing that it was an easy kill, he sharpened his nails and crept towards it. In a flash, he pounced and drove his nails into its neck, killing it instantly.

The Crystal, which had been inside the beast's body, was transferred to Rayne's inventory, as shown by a prompt.

[First Basic tier beast of the day has been slain. The crystal is transferred to your inventory.]

"Score! That's one for me, zero for the beasties," Rayne said, grinning.

"Change of plans. First, hunting. Then, scouting. After all, a hunter must hunt," Rayne said with a chuckle. He made a small cut on his palm and controlled his blood to form a spear pulsing with his blood aura. He moved forward at a quick pace and soon encountered a group of five rat-like beasts charging at him from all directions.

"Oh, come on. It's like they're begging me to take them down," Rayne said, twirling his blood spear like a pro. He fought them with his blood spear and sent out a burst of qi energy with every attack. He twirled his blood spear like a staff, blocking their strikes and countering with swift jabs and slashes.

"Nice moves, huh? I've been practicing," Rayne said, grinning.

He jumped and flipped over their heads, using the walls and ceiling to his advantage. He launched himself at one of the beasts, striking it with a powerful spin kick that sent it crashing into the others, killing it instantly.

"Booyah! That's how you do it," Rayne said, striking a pose.

The other beasts charged forward, but Rayne was quick to react. He threw the spear at one of them, piercing its head.

"Gotcha!" Rayne said, pumping his fist in the air.

He then ran forward and jumped in the air, spinning and bringing his leg down in an axe kick directly at another beast's head, smashing it like a watermelon.

"See that? That's how you make a smoothie," Rayne said, laughing.

He spun around, narrowly dodging a claw that slashed through his school uniform and drew a little bit of blood.

"Ow! Not cool, man," Rayne said, shaking his head.

Rayne called back his spear, which instantly returned, and as another beast charged towards him, he blocked it by creating a blood barrier and then pierced its head, killing it.

"Ha! You thought you could get me? Not a chance," Rayne said, grinning.

As the last one stood, Rayne rushed forward and punched it directly in the head, killing it before it could alert its brethren of an intruder.

"Hey, you're not going to call for backup? No worries, I got this," Rayne said, flexing his muscles.

More of its kind arrived, much more numerous than before.

"I guess it's bingo time for me," Rayne said, looking at the timer in the corner of his vision.

"Bring it on, you ugly little furballs. Rayne's ready for ya," Rayne said, cracking his knuckles and getting into attack mode. Soon all hell broke loose, and Rayne was in the thick of it, fighting off the horde with all his might.

~Few hours later~

In a huge section of the sewage, a whole lot of beasts could be seen lying down. Some of them had several limbs torn from their bodies, while others had gaping holes in their heads or had their heads smashed with some being at odd angles, a result of some strong kicks.

Rayne was standing with a pool of his own blood underneath him. His clothes were all torn, leaving him with only his pants. Even his shoes were no more, and it seemed as if he was tired. Why not? He would be tired after all. He had been running and killing all the beasts that lived in this sewage system, leaving a few of them that ran away. For non-stop without a rest, he had been doing this for exactly 5 hours and 45 minutes, which means he only had 15 minutes left to kill the last beast to complete the basic tier task. The beast that he needs to kill is a boss beast from its size, but from its aura, it seemed to be a basic tier beast. Knowing that he would be needing the maximum amount of reaction speed, he activated [Draconic Vampire Eyes].

"Hah, should have been serious from the start then wouldn't have been injured so much, but I guess now I need to be serious," Rayne said as the blood that was near his foot started to creep up his body, forming pieces of dragon-like scales on his chest and hand, followed by along his face. His nails sharpened before getting coated by hardened blood, forming claws.

[Beast Form I: Dragon Warrior form unlocked]

'Why does it say unlocked? Didn't I just now create this form with the help of my blood control and my imagination?' Rayne thought but shrugged it off as he concentrated on the fight.

Rayne took a deep breath and charged towards the boss beast. The creature was massive, easily twice Rayne's height, and its muscles rippled as it prepared to attack. Rayne dodged to the side as the beast's claw swiped at him, then lunged forward with his own claws. The boss beast roared in pain as Rayne's sharp claws cut through its flesh, but it retaliated with a powerful tail swipe that sent Rayne flying across the room.

Rayne crashed against a pile of rubble but quickly got back up. He knew he couldn't afford to take too many hits from the boss beast, so he had to rely on his agility and speed to evade its attacks. He darted around the room, dodging the beast's strikes and attacking whenever he saw an opening. Rayne's draconic vampire eyes allowed him to predict the beast's moves, making it easier for him to evade its attacks.

However, he couldn't drag on the fight any longer as he was getting tired. As the boss beast went in for a swipe, Rayne was unable to dodge it and it struck his body, leaving a blood trail. At that moment, he felt a strange surge of energy throughout his veins and his eyes glowed crimson. The scales on his body dissolved into blood, forming a huge rampant blood vortex with a dragon-like roar. The vortex transformed into a serpentine dragon, which moved downwards towards the boss beast that was stunned by the dragon roar and swallowed it whole before ascending into the air and bursting. Small red snowflakes fell from the sky as all of Rayne's wounds were healed.

Rayne fell down on the floor with a huff and said, "That was intense." At that moment, a system prompt appeared.

[First task completed: slay 100 basic tier beasts].

Seeing it, he smiled and exclaimed, "Hurrah!"

After exiting the sewer, Rayne took a deep breath of fresh air and exclaimed, "I need a shower after this is done."

As he pondered on how to find 50 Intermediate tier beasts within three hours, a system prompt appeared, causing him to jump in surprise. [Congratulations on completing your first task! Your next task is to slay 50 Intermediate tier beasts within three hours. Good luck!]

"Three hours? That's barely enough time to take a power nap," Rayne said with a chuckle. "Well, let's go find some monsters to kill. I'm sure they're just dying to meet me."
