Day One

I'm sure you all got a recap of the last hour in the previous chapter, so I'm not gonna waste any time.

"Look at our baby! Gosh, I didn't know I was so gorgeous when I was little!"

"Why are you flattering yourself! He obviously got his handsomeness from me!"

"Back at you! Who told you you're handsome?"

"My father"

"We all know he was an idiot"

"..Good point"

I ignored the conversation between who most likely were my parents, I looked around and finally came to a conclusion.

"Shit, I'm a baby in a dirt poor village!"

The two gasped, I was only 10 minutes old but I already said a sentence, heck, I even cursed. They must think I'm a devil now or something, just my luck.

"Didn't the Heavenly Dragon speak his first words in only an hour since his birth? Maybe our son is a genius like him!"

"Even so, that was an hour, he had enough time to learn some words, it hasn't even been 10 minutes since Zhang was born"

"Scratch that! His name is Gao! Befitting of him!"

"Sure sure, but anyway, my son is surely a genius! We must nurture him! Oh especially that deep voice of his, I may get a granddaughter sooner than expected!"

While the conversation about how my parents would deal with me, I organized my thoughts. Murim is a dreadful place, and it doesn't help with me being born in a poor family. Unless I learn some kind of technique that cuts my pain receptors, I would need to brace myself for extreme pain and rigorous training.

I will, absolutely will, rise to the top.

I just need to forget the thing called pain, plus since I have consciousness this early, my muscle regeneration rate would be through the roof.

I drooled at the thought of how fast results would come, before I talked again.

"Mother, Father, I'm hungry" I needed to eat well.

"Of course!" The two parents shouted in unison, now that I actually paid attention, they were a gem. My mother was exceedingly beautiful, to the point of being Ms. Universe if she was in the modern day, my father was also handsome, not enough to marry her but still, he was handsome enough to be a top class model.

The tore apart clothes lowered their beauty though, making me wonder just how beautiful and handsome they both would be if they were born wealthy.

Actually, scratch my past comment, my family wasn't dirt poor, just poor, they had enough money to feed me properly, clothes must expensive or something.

"Here you go, my sweet Gao" Time passed quickly with several thoughts clouding my mind and making it a mess, my mother placed a small bowl of rice on the table along with some strips of chicken.

"Can you walk?" She asked me, "I can" I said to her.

Well I was half wrong.

I tripped twice on my way to the table, since I wasn't used to this new body. I imagined it was what astronauts suffered from after returning from outer space, just on a slightly higher level.

But I wasn't gonna let myself be dragged down by walking, no, if I want to rise to the top, basics like these are nothing compared to what I would eventually suffer from.

I stood upright, and even though my legs shaked a little, I walked to the table, and was met by another obstacle.

"Father, may you help me up?" I looked at my father who was sitting at the table as well, "Sure, Gao" he replied before helping me sit on the wooden chair, although I didn't actually sit. I had to stand up all the time to just see the bowl.

Anyway, haven't they adapted to the situation too quickly? Shouldn't they freak out a little bit?

Screw it, I was in Murim, not earth.

"Mother, I don't know how to use chopsticks"

***

Obstacle after obstacle, I slowly survived my first day in Murim.

It was the evening, my father was hitting a tree rigorously but somehow his hands didn't bleed at all nor get scratched, but previous scratches were visible.

I walked up to him, watching him for a little while before speaking, "Father, may you help me train?

He stopped mid punch and looked over to me, with a confused look and his right eyebrow raised up.

"My Gao, you are too young to do the training I do, in a few years I will let you" He said in a semi serious tone before getting back to punches.

Hmph! I'm gonna train, whether he likes it or not.

"I know that I can't punch trees yet

father, but may I train? I'm sure you wasn't born with your strength, any training I need to do, I will without objections!" I said honorably while clenching my small right fist and resting it on my left chest.

"Where did you even learn the word objection?" He sighed before continuing, "Sure, but promise me you won't stop it midway"

"I promise"

"Alright, that's how my Gao should be! Now do you know how to do pushups?" He smiled and crossed his arms together, "I do" I replied.

"Then do it until you can't anymore, after that I will give you a small log that I want you to curl with each hand until you can't"

A wide smile formed on my face as my journey started.
