Chapter 95
Alex Phenex along with Hope, Harry and Neville sat in a cozy bedroom, surrounded by shelves filled with spellbooks and magical artifacts collected over the years. The sun's soft rays filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow on the room. Resting on the desk before them was an unopened envelope, bearing the emblem of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry and Neville we're looking at the letter with a mixture of excitement and trepidation, they were curious about how different IIvermorny was from Hogwarts.
Alex reached for the envelope and carefully broke the wax seal. Inside, they found a parchment letter with elegant script. As they unfolded it, their eyes scanned the words that would change their life forever.
"Dear Alex Phenex,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the upcoming academic year..."
Alex smiled, while Hope was now feeling- joy, relief, and a profound sense of achievement.
Hope went to read her letter once more, savoring every word.
With the acceptance letter held tightly in their hand, Alex couldn't help but smile. They were ready to embrace their destiny as a student of the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Neville was curious and questioned"Is there difference in subjects in Ilvermorny from that of Hogwarts?"
Alex hummed and shared his limited knowledge of the various classes offered at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:
"Defence Against the Dark Arts, or D.A.D.A., is a pretty much the same.It is a crucial class where we learn how to defend ourselves against dark magic and creatures. It's been taught here since the 17th century and has some remarkable professors like Rionach Steward."
"Then there is Charms is another essential subject. We study spells that give objects new and unexpected properties. Chadwick's Charms Vols I–VII, written by one of our founders, Chadwick Boot, are our standard textbooks."
"After that Transfiguration is all about changing the form or appearance of objects. It's a scientific and theory-based subject, and we even have a Transfiguration Tournament to test our skills."
"While Potions subject seems to have an upgrade.It is now different and fascinating! We create magical mixtures with various effects.And don't forget the Excellence in Potions Cup!"
"Xylomancy is an extracurricular class involving divination with twigs. It's often overlooked but quite intriguing."
"We probably have Arithmancy, too, as we have the Arithmancy Achievement Accolade. It's all about the magical properties of numbers and likely theory-based."
"Study of Ancient Runes, just like at Hogwarts, studies ancient runic scripts. They have an Excellence in Runes Cup for it."
"And Creature Care is a recent addition, introduced in 1927. It's essential to learn how to care for magical creatures, especially after the events in 1926."
Alex paused, he saw Harry and Neville's eyes were sparkling with excitement.
While this was happening the trend of Magic rings were increasing more and more magical societies started accept it because of how easy it is use them.Only once who didn't accept them were the the hardcore traditionalist societies like British, Bulgaria...etc
They all seem to stick to wands even though wand creators like Garrick Ollivander,Violetta Beauvais and even Mykew Gregorovitch spoke up about the advantages of magic rings.But it all went from one year and through the other.
Malfoy along with his pureblood idiots did cause a small rukus in a ICW meeting with the help of Fudge, but that was easily solved by kicking out Fudge, who was once again disgraced in front of a large number of international officials.
After getting Neville and Harry to home, Hope was sitting next to Alex and questioned"So we are going Adams, Massachusetts next week."
Alex nodded,Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was located at Mount Greylock, Adams, Massachusetts, United States of America, North America.
Alex had a small smile and said"I am looking forward seeing Ilvermorny."
Hope also was excited replied"I am looking forward to their sorting, I heard it was slightly different from Hogwarts sorting.Also Uncle Kol, Freya and even dad won't tell me anything about the sorting."
Alex nodded and added"I heard a lot of tales of
Ilvermorny like there is a unique Snakewood tree that resides in an Ilvermorny courtyard.If I remember correctly one of the founder Isolt Sayre had a aunt Gormlaith Gaunt, who
believed strongly in pure-blood supremacy and had an intense hatred for anyone that went against these extreme views. Her hatred went so deep that she murdered her own sister and brother-in-law for showing sympathy towards her Muggle neighbours.She wanted "save" Isolt because she hoped to put her on the "right path". She believed Rionach's(Isolt's father) idea of helping Muggles would lead Isolt to marry one, of which the very idea was something Gormlaith found completely unacceptable.Although at some point, Gormlaith began teaching Isolt the Dark Arts, until Isolt had learned enough to be able to escape along with Gormlaith's wand.It did not fully work as year's later Gomlaith found out a headmistress at a new school of magic in the New World was nicknamed "Morrigan". She remembered her niece was named this by her father because of their lineage to Morrigan herself. When she also heard the school was named Ilvermorny, she knew it was Isolt because it was the name of the same cottage Isolt was born in and Gormlaith set fire to. She was also upset to hear Isolt had married a Muggle and opened the school up to anyone with magic and not a select few of pure-bloods.Which led to fight, but soon led to
Gormlaith's death and after that, Isolt and James buried Gormlaith's wand outside the school grounds. Isolt Sayre did not wish to keep the wand as it was the last reminder of her unhappy childhood. Within a year, a snakewood tree grew from the ground where it was buried. Any attempts to kill or prune it were unsuccessful, and it was kept after it was discovered that the tree contained powerful medicinal properties."
Hope eye's slightly lit up as she spoke up"It is am amazing story, also Uncle Kol has snake wood wand too."
Alex nodded.
