5 Lost Heir
Two weeks had passed since Agustus had returned to his orphanage after his shopping trip at Diagon Alley.
Today, he had decided to visit Gringotts to claim his inheritance as the heir of the Peverell House.
'Damn, it was hard to get permission from Grandma to leave the orphanage. She has been acting like that ever since she found out I would be leaving the orphanage for boarding school.' Agustus thought with a smile on his face.
He entered the Leaky Cauldron for the second time. It was less crowded in the early morning, and nobody paid him any attention this time. He greeted Tom, the innkeeper, and quickly made his way to the Diagon Alley entrance.
He stepped into Diagon Alley and walked towards the wizarding bank.
As he entered the bank, he saw a similar scene as when he had visited last time. He had thought that the goblins might be able to sense his Power of Destruction, but he was afraid for nothing, as the goblins ignored him and focused on greeting Dumbledore, who had arrived with him.
He quickly went to a goblin who was sitting at a desk that said 'Inheritance Test'. "I want to take the inheritance test," Agustus said to the goblin.
The goblin looked down from his desk and saw a human child.
He acknowledged Agustus's request and said, "It will cost you five galleons."
Agustus nodded and took out five galleons from his leather bag and handed them to the goblin.
The goblin counted the galleons and asked Agustus to follow him.
He led Agustus to a unique room that was engraved with runes. In the center of the room, there was a podium with a bowl on it.
The goblin stopped in front of the podium and took out a dagger that had similar runes as the room.
He said with a sarcastic grin, "We will need your blood to determine if you are an heir of a lost house." He clearly did not believe that Agustus had a chance.
Agustus said, "First, take a magical oath that my blood will only be used in the inheritance test and you will destroy it afterwards."
The goblin looked surprised and said, "What do you think we are doing, human? This is an ancient ritual that was designed by the heads of the ancient nobles to make sure the noble house gets a worthy heir. The heir's blood is very important for a noble house. The runes here absorb all the blood and destroy it. Not even a single drop of blood remains after the ritual."
Agustus nodded and placed his hand on the bowl. The goblin used the dagger to cut the palm of Agustus's right hand.
Agustus's blood dripped into the bowl. After a few seconds, the wound in Agustus's palm healed magically. He felt a strange sensation in his veins, as if something was awakening within him. He wondered what the results of the test would be.
The runes in the entire room began to glow and a parchment dropped from the ceiling.
A goblin picked up the parchment and proceeded to read it, but he couldn't believe what was written.
"Th..This is..." The goblin stuttered and looked at Agustus from head to toe. "Heir, wait here. I am going to call the chief goblin for assistance." He handed the parchment to Agustus and ran away.
Agustus looked at the parchment, and his mouth hung open in amazement.

Agustus realized, 'So I'm the heir of four noble houses. Thanks, ROB, for the pleasant surprise.' He thought to himself.
Now Agustus understood why the goblin was so shocked.
'An heir of four lost noble houses appears. Any goblin would be astonished.'
Suddenly, the previous goblin reappeared, accompanied by a muscular goblin who looked at Agustus in awe and said, "If it wasn't for the ritual's authenticity, no one would have believed that an heir of four lost noble houses appeared. My name is Gorok. Follow me. I will tell you about the wealth and property you inherited and give you the heir rings of the houses, Heir Peverell."
Agustus nodded and followed Gorok to a chamber and sat down on a sofa.
Gorok took out a magical box and placed it in front of Agustus. He said, "These are the heir rings of the houses you inherited. If the rings accept you as the heir, we will proceed further."
Agustus opened the box and saw four beautiful rings.
He first took the ring that was quite big for his finger. It had the Deathly Hallows design. Agustus put the ring on his finger.
The ring flickered and fit snugly on his finger.
Seeing this, the goblin nodded and said, "Congratulations, young Heir Peverell. You inherited the House of Peverell. On your 16th birthday, you will be identified as Lord Peverell, Head of the Most Noble and Reverent House of Peverell."
Hearing this, Agustus asked a question. "Don't I need a lord ring to become the head of the house?"
"No, Heir Peverell. A lost house only has heir rings. The lord ring gets buried with the last head of the house. When an heir turns 16, the heir ring magically reappears in Gringotts. A lost house doesn't have a lord ring, though you can contact us to make one for you." The goblin replied with a greedy smile.
Agustus sighed and put on the other rings. He was accepted as the heir by all of them. Agustus was wearing four rings on his right hand, one on each finger. Seeing this, the goblin was stupefied and said, "Merlin, I thought you would inherit one or at most two houses, but all of the rings accepted you."
Agustus just smiled at Gorok and asked about the functionality of the rings. Gorok replied, "The rings act as the keys to the heir vaults in Gringotts. They also give you protection from mind-altering potions and legilimency."
'They wouldn't affect me anyway,' Agustus thought and nodded at the goblin.
Agustus then asked Gorok, "Is there a way to combine these rings? Wearing four rings is too much."
Gorok told Agustus, "Just think of which ring you want as the main ring and the other rings will merge into that one."
Agustus did that and chose the Peverell ring as the main one. The other rings automatically merged into it.
After that, Gorok told Agustus about the properties, shares, and money he inherited.
Let's just say he was rich. Very rich.
He had houses in England, France, Germany, and Italy. He also owned a large portion of the stock market, several businesses, and a private island. He had access to ancient and powerful artifacts, books, and secrets. He was the sole heir of four of the most influential and respected families in the wizarding world. He had more power and wealth than he could ever imagine. He was Agustus Peverell, and he was destined for greatness.
Agustus had discovered several marriage contracts with the Greengrass, Black, Bones, and other prominent families.
He also learned that the Malfoy family owed the Ashwood family one million galleons, and that both the British and the French Ministries of Magic owed him money as well. He smiled and thought, 'One's political power is directly proportional to the money he has.'
He owned two noble manors in London, England, and many more properties in other countries. He decided to buy a bag enchanted with an Undetectable Extension Charm, and fill it with clothes from the Peverell heir vault, as well as fifty thousand galleons.
Later, he asked Gorok, the goblin who had assisted him, "Can you donate money to a Muggle orphanage for me?"
Gorok replied, "We will take 3% of the donation, give us the address and the amount in galleons, and we will convert the money into dollars. One galleon equals five pounds."
Agustus nodded and replied, "Donate five thousand galleons each month from the Peverell heir vault."
It wouldn't even make a dent in his millions of galleons.
The goblin agreed to Agustus's request.
Agustus then left Diagon Alley after eating an ice cream.
What Agustus didn't know was that his trip to Gringotts had caused chaos in the wizarding world.
Nothing and no one has the power to hurt him. Many people were shocked and curious about his sudden appearance and his claim to the ancient and lost houses.
Some were envious and greedy, others were fearful and suspicious, and a few were hopeful and intrigued. Agustus had unknowingly stirred up a storm that would change his life and the fate of the wizarding world.
