Dumbles loss and Agustus win

(28 October 1989 Hogwarts Headmaster's office)

The scene is set in Dumbledore's office, where a phoenix, a majestic bird of fire, rests on its perch. Dumbledore is replying to a letter from the Ministry of Magic.

"Fudge has been very impatient lately due to the growing support of Crouch. I have to choose between the two of them."

Dumbledore understands that there is no need for an aggressive minister of magic now, as the wizarding world is stable and peaceful. Fudge is a perfect candidate for that role, as he is more moderate and flexible than Crouch, who is known for his harsh and rigid policies. Crouch's strong hate for Death eaters, and Crouch Jr. being death eater didn't set well with the light faction.

Dumbledore is planning to support Fudge in the upcoming elections, as he knows that his word carries a lot of weight among the light and neutral factions of the wizarding world. As the Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, he has a lot of influence and respect.

Dumbledore is busy with his letter when suddenly his magic wand, the Elder Wand, disappears from his waist. He is shocked and bewildered by this event, as it is very unusual for him. He had defeated Grindelwald in a legendary duel to gain the allegiance of the wand, and now it has vanished without a trace.

Dumbledore hurries towards a cabinet and opens it. He takes out a black box in which his old wand is kept. He has not used this wand for years, and he immediately feels the difference between the two wands. The Elder Wand made him a lot stronger, as it was the most powerful wand in existence. It was one of the three Deathly Hallows, objects that were said to be created by Death itself.

Dumbledore looks around the cabinet for another Deathly Hallow, the Cloak of Invisibility, but he cannot find it. It has also disappeared. He finally heaves a sigh and sits down on his chair. Both the artifacts were once sought after by Dumbledore, when he was young he wanted to become master of death to bring someone he loved dearly back to life. He searched everywhere for the stone but he couldn't find it, ultimately he failed his pursuit, his goal got lost with time.

He thinks of Agustus Peverell, the heir of the ancient house that was given the Deathly Hallows by Death.

Dumbledore knows that Agustus is involved in this incident.

Dumbledore wonders if Agustus can summon the Deathly Hallows to himself, like Godric Gryffindor's sword, which appears to those who are worthy of it. He does not know how right he is, as Augustus has a special bond with the Deathly Hallows, being a direct descendant of their original owner.

Dumbledore is already old and his combat power has reduced over the years. The Elder Wand helped him maintain his position as the strongest white wizard in the world, but now he is not. He feels vulnerable and exposed.

Dumbledore puts down everything and goes to his resting chamber, thinking about the future of the magical world. He hopes that if Agustus could bring back his sister, he would give anything to Agustus if he could do that.

(Present, 25 December 1989, 1 am, Drakul House)

Agustus stood in front of piles of books, artifacts, magic swords, potions, and an Ice Phoenix egg. He had stolen all this stuff from the goblins' vaults.

The goblins were a greedy bunch who never sold the most important artifacts to anyone. The swords he stole easily outclassed even the Drakul swords, which were renowned for their power and craftsmanship.

The magical artifacts were impressive too. Time tuners, black magic amulets, vanishing cabinets and much more rare items you can't find anywhere.

Agustus had not touched a single galleon from the vaults. He did not need money; all he wanted was knowledge and artifacts that would make his house's future stronger.

The best thing he got out of this adventure was the Ice Phoenix egg. He had stumbled upon the egg in the vault of the Goblin chief, who had kept it as a prized possession.

Phoenixes were said to be nearly extinct; there were only two known phoenixes in the world, one owned by Dumbledore and the other by an Indian mage. Ice Phoenixes, on the other hand, were extinct. The last Ice Phoenix was seen in the 1800s. Agustus initially did not recognize the egg, but looking closely at the bluish lines and the size of the egg, he thought it was a dragon egg. After using his Power of Destruction to sense what was inside, he came to the conclusion that it was an Ice Phoenix egg.

The phoenix was a powerful magical bird, able to burst into flames and be reborn from the ashes. As a result, they could live to a very old age. Resplendent in crimson and gold, phoenixes had tails as long as a peacock's with feathers that glowed faintly in the dark.

Ice Phoenixes were incredibly cold and icy in color. When an Ice Phoenix died, it was consumed in freezing flames, and a new phoenix egg was left in the ashes. They had incredible mastery over frigid fire, and on a cold winter night, they would sleep outside, often burrowing into a snow bank or finding a sheet of ice to slumber upon.

Agustus wanted a phoenix for himself, and now he had one. He had gone to Gringotts to get Dora a gift, and now he got one for himself as well.

Agustus covered himself with his Power of Destruction and took the Hufflepuff cup in his hand. He destroyed the soul of Voldemort that was hidden inside the cup and examined the legendary artifact. Agustus had to experiment with this cup, as nobody knew the full extent of its abilities.

'Let's go to sleep now. Tomorrow, we have to visit the Greengrass family. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.' Agustus thought as he got ready to go to bed.

I am really questioning my sanity rn.

Anyways, I enjoy writing this novel and I want to see where the journey takes turns, I also like the MCs personality towards the people he care about and I'm not gonna change it. I am going to finish this shitty ff. You don't like it, drop it.

Suggest name for the phoenix here. I was planning with going with 'Ember' lol.
