13 Christmas l

The Ministry of Magic had rented Addington Palace for the Christmas ball. The venue, set within 163 acres of undulating Surrey countryside, was warded with Muggle-repelling Charms. Luxurious carriages filled the back garden, signifying the wealth of the guests.

( most of the British wizarding world owed money to Agustus)

Agustus was sitting inside a carriage along with Alfred. He was thinking about Dora. 'I already miss her,' he thought. They had just come from the Tonks residence, where Agustus had invited Dora as his date for the ball. But Dora was a mess today.

She had been stunned when she saw Agustus dressed in a black noble suit with golden braided robes that hugged his body. Agustus had grown taller, reaching five feet and six inches. He looked like a prince of a kingdom. When Dora looked at him, her hair turned pink and she couldn't think straight. Even her Occlumency shield failed her. Her Metamorphmagus ability went haywire and she couldn't stand up properly.

Agustus had trained Dora to control her Metamorphmagus ability, but whenever she gets too emotional her abilities go out of her control.

Dora refused to go to the ball like this.

Agustus, after making sure she was okay, had to leave for the ball. He said goodbye to Dora's parents and left, promising to see her tomorrow as Andromeda had invited Agustus for Christmas dinner.

Dora didn't even said goodbye to Agustus and ran into her room.

What he didn't know was how much Dora was being teased by Andromeda, her mother, about how she fainted seeing her charming prince.

Dora felt so embarrassed that she wished the world would swallow her. "Idiot Agustus, looking good every time. I hate him. Why did he make me feel like this? I will hit him on the head next time I see him," she muttered and blushed, thinking about how handsome he was.

Edward watched his daughter with a sigh. He knew it was only a matter of time before Agustus took her away from him.

Agustus's carriage was specially modified by Alfred. It had the family crests of all four noble families: Peverell, Ashwood, Fleamont, and Drakul.

The carriage was twice the size of a normal one and was pulled by five hippogriffs. The hippogriffs were from one of the Drakul family farms in Romania.

The carriage driver was a new addition to the servants. Alfred had hired him four days ago to make sure he knew how to handle hippogriffs.

As Agustus's carriage landed near Addington Palace, two Aurors came to greet him.

Alfred got out of the carriage to talk to the Aurors.

"Can I see the invitation letter, sirs?" asked an Auror.

Alfred nodded and handed the letter to the Auror. After reading the letter, the Auror announced, "Heir Peverell has arrived."

The second Auror took out a notebook and checked Agustus's name.

"You are free to go, sir," said the first Auror to Alfred.

Alfred nodded at the Aurors and got back inside the carriage. The carriage continued to the gate of the palace.

As the carriage stopped in front of the palace gates, Alfred got out from the left door and opened the right door for Agustus.

Agustus was impressed seeing the venue, but Addington Palace pales in comparison to Drakul palace which was more than 400 years old but had top class maintenance due to magic.

Agustus got out of the carriage and thanked Alfred and the driver.

The Aurors guarding the gates saw the luxurious carriage and Agustus stepping out. They knew he was Heir Peverell, the descendant of the legendary Antioch Peverell, who once owned the Elder Wand. They had received special instructions from the Minister of Magic herself not to offend the young heir. The Aurors was placed there by Ministry to welcome Agustus.

Agustus was half an hour late for the ball, and the Aurors had thought he would not show up.

As Agustus climbed the manor stairs, Alfred followed him with an expressionless face. The Aurors greeted Agustus.

Agustus nodded at their greetings and walked on. He reached the centre hall and saw people of various age groups wearing lavish clothes and chatting with each other.

Agustus, after Dora's refusal didn't wanted to come here, all he wanted right now was either training with swords or talking with Dora. He also wanted to try Fiendfyre spell but he had to be here introduce himself to British wizarding world.

The Aurors had orders to inform the Minister of Magic as soon as Heir Peverell arrived at the Palace gate.

There she was, the Minister of Magic, standing at the centre of the hall and talking to an old man, when an Auror approached and informed her about Augustus's arrival.

(AN - Minister of magic looks like an Actress, guess the actress name here.. and first lemon will be with her.)

Millicent Bagnold had been the Minister during the final phase of the First Wizarding War. It was under her term that Lord Voldemort seemingly died. She was also responsible for the successful Death Eater trials that followed the war.

She had now stabilized the British wizarding world and started to enjoy her time in office. Next year, there would be elections again and she wanted to become the Minister, but this time she faced strong opposition from Bartemius Crouch Senior. He had been the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement during the First Wizarding War, and a candidate for the highest role. After the war, he was demoted to the Head of the Department of International Magical Co-operation.

And then there was Fudge, who was the junior minister in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. She needed the support of the young Heir Peverell for the upcoming elections and had invited him to the ball.

As Agustus entered the hall through the gate, he was greeted by the Minister of Magic. She smiled warmly and extended her hand. "Welcome, Heir Peverell. I'm so glad you could join us tonight."
