Lightning Spell Module 1

"Very well, looking at your heaven defying learning skill, I don't think it will take you more than a day to learn magic spells up to rank 2." Merlin said.

Nodding my head I sat down comfortably in the body of my previous life and focused on the lightning magic spell module inside my head.

Soon the cube opened inside my head and information flooded my mind which I limited up to rank 1.

There were total of 6 lightning spells comprising of both offensive and defensive category under rank 1 category.

There was not only information but also tutorial of how to perform the spells.

"Oh that was fast; now let's try how powerful the spell is." I said.

"Let me help you with that." Merlin said and 5 low level demons materialized few meters away from me.

"Ready when you are." Merlin said and without replying him I silently casted [Thunder bolts] and 7 [Thunder bolts] fell from the sky.

They were normal [Thunder bolts] without overcharge or fusing fate points and it fell directly on 3 demon beast's skull but 2 demons beast were able to dodge the attack and charged at me with incredible speed.

I once again thought [Thunder bolts] and without a delay [Thunder bolts] hit the demon beast's skull and they fell to the floor their whole body scorched.

"That was impressive taking into account it was your first time, but you can do much better." Merlin said and I nodded.

The first mistake I made was summon 7 [Thunder bolts], I wanted to summon only 5 [Thunder bolts] but I imagined 7 [Thunder bolts] in my head, which caused me excess mana.

My second mistake was I wasn't able to control all 7 [Thunder bolts] and thus 2 [Thunder bolts] missed their targets and I had to use more mana one again to deal with them.

"You are a beginner therefore I suggest you say the name of attack aloud, which will help you imagine the spell more accurately and as your proficiency increases you can try silent casting." Merlin said and I nodded.

"Once again." Merlin said and same 5 demons beast manifested once again while previously dead demon disappeared.

[Thunder bolts]. I shouted and this time exactly 5 [Thunder bolts] fell from the sky hitting 4 target on head and killing them on spot, while the last one hit on the legs of 5th demon beast decapitating him, I had to use another [Thunder bolts] to finish him this time but the progress was commendable.

"This time try overcharging the spell." Merlin said and I did as told overcharging it as much as I could and then shouted [Thunder bolts].

BOOOOM

This time 5 thick [Thunder bolts] fell from the sky, their light binding my vision completely. When I opened my eyes once again to see the aftermath, I was shocked because there was nothing left of the demons beast's body, while the white ground was scorched with 5 black stains.

"Once again, using fate point." Merlin said.

"Will it use my actual fate points?" I asked.

"No, in this space whatever we use, only soul force will be used." Merlin's words relieved me.

This time merlin summoned 10 lowly demons beast's and he also changed our surrounding into an endless grassland and painted the sky light blue.

'I said merge 20 fate points in [Thunder bolts] spell and soon dark clouds more intense than before gathered in the sky covering the endless surrounding and five thick golden [Thunder bolts] fell from the sky once again binding my vision.

When I opened my eyes, I was met with absolute silence as the ground where demons beast's stood were crater was formed and soon the rain started to pour out of the sky extinguishing the flames inside the crater, as smoke emanated from the crater.

"What just happened?" I asked and merlin showed me the aftermath of my attack rewinding and lustering the golden light in front of me.

As I saw the thick golden light fell from the sky and touch the demons beast's skin, their skin melted into nothingness and when there was nothing left to melt, [Thunder bolts] destroyed the ground forming crater.

"The power of your attack just now was equal to Initial rank 3 spell, while the overcharged spells power reached the initial rank 2." Merlin said.

"Only that much?" I said while merlin sighted in disagreement.

"Don't underestimate the magic spells of higher rank because as the rank increases the power increases many folds, let me show you how much destruction can a normal rank 12 spell can cause." Merlin said and in the distance away from us a city manifested almost 50 km long and wide with old looking buildings and in center of it stood a majestic castle.

[Lightning Dragon Descent]

Merlin muttered something and the sky turned dark, suddenly from within the black clouds rain started to fall, it was too realistic because human and demon left their homes and stood on roadside looking above.

Unimaginable amount of mana started to gather and soon electric arcs started to fall from sky and people started to run but the electric arcs took the image of an 100 meter long dragon and the next second a blinding light took over my vision.

When the light subsidized the cloud vanished out of existence and sun rays fell on earth but I didn't care about it because where I saw a city previously was nowhere to be seen and only a huge crater remained whose other end cannot be seen with eyes, dumbfounded I looked at merlin for explanation.

"The moment you perfect the rank 12 magic spells that is when you will be able to fight and kill duke ranked demons and in order to fight demon king, you have to go beyond rank 12." Merlin said.
