Boss fight

From the distance all rank 5 and rank 6 beasts fired long ranged attacks at me containing acid, fire, water and even some unknown energy blasts which caused quite the damage to our surrounding but I didn't let those unknown attacks touch me, because only an idiot would let something that he doesn't understand touch him, that is what I have learnt from my 10 yearlong training.

"It's your turn now." I said pointing my sword at the group of rank 5 beasts.

They glared at me but before I could start attacking them an invisible energy wave swept through me making me flinch.

"Oh this never gets old but unfortunately my soul is much stronger than you." I said looking in the distance.

What just happened now is, the rank 7 beast has released his soul force outside his body targeting me with the intention to damage my soul and weaken me but my soul force was much greater than his.

I too released a tiny bit of my soul force to suppress the rank 5 and rank 6 beasts because full thrust of my soul force was comparable to the duke ranked demon, and it would make them go mad or permanently cripple them.

I also have to be more careful because if used outside the body, soul force depletes twice as fast.

The moment my soul force swept through my surrounding, rank 5 and rank 6 beasts took a step back in fear and I heard a loud roar coming from the distance and a powerful energy signature approaching me.

"I think the big boss has woken up, I should wrap up things here fast." I said.

It won't be easy to kill the rank 5 and rank 6 beasts with single attack because they possessed more vitality and greater defenses as well as firepower than normal beast and thus I prepared a powerful spell.

I manifested 25 such swords which didn't cost me more than 5% of my mana reserve, I also didn't face any issue in controlling the trajectory of my blades because I have practiced mana control for years inside sea of consciousness on more powerful spells than this.

At my motion the blades charged toward beasts and pierced their bodies rendering them motionless on the floor.

Not getting the chance to get near me, the rank 5 and rank 6 beasts, pushed low rank beasts toward my attack to be used as cannon fodder but redirecting the trajectory at the right time I only killed rank 5 and rank 6 beasts.

Even after using rank 5 spell two rank 5 and two rank 6 beast survived although gravely injured and lying unconscious on the ground but I didn't had the time to finish them because the rank 7 beast has caught up to me shooting more than 10 black poison bomb where I stood.

Using [Quick step] I avoided all the bombs and soon spotted a 12 meter long snake like beast with a head of a demon arrive on the battlefield and stare at me with bloodshot eyes.

"Did you do this human, call other filthy humans who are hiding, I will kill all of you together." The beast roared.

So he was thinking that I am not capable of killing this many beasts on my own.

The beasts above rank 6 had the ability to speak telepathically and were considered to be very aggressive toward the invader of their territory.

They had intelligence surpassing that of a human and as they evolve further their appearance looks more and more like a human or in case of demonic beasts like a demon.

"A mere beast looking down on me, how comical." I said.

'That is because he can sense that you have not finished merging with your beast core yet and he assumes that you can only use spells up to rank 4.' Merlin said.

"You are calling me beast when you rely on our strength to survive, you human should learn your place." The rank 7 beast said to me.

"You are not very smart are you; making your own assumption from the moment you have entered the battlefield." I said because this beast kept making claims that didn't make any sense.

The beast didn't reply but prepared a poison breath and fired at me, which I avoided using [Quick step] but the eyesight of this beast was good enough to follow my movements.

Suddenly the speed of his attack increased many folds and when his attack was about to land on me, I used another moment technique I had learned for this kind of situation, [lightning step].

The skill was amazing but my current physique can't handle the movement at the speed of light and thus it puts lots of strain on my weak body.

I had tried to perform this ability more than 3 times in sea of consciousness and the result was after using it for 4th time my legs became paralyzed for the whole day.

I appeared behind the 7th rank beast in the blink of an eye and slashed him diagonally with my full strength but the sword snapped and broke into many pieces and beast hurriedly protected himself becoming aware of my existence behind him.

Using [Quick step] once again I distanced myself from the beast.

"Whhat.. how did you get here, you were there before my eyes..?" The beast looked at me with confusion and fear evident in his eyes.

"You don't need to know." I said preparing [Nova octave] sword art with [Lightning step] and charged at the beast.
