Chapter 9

Once inside the dive shop, Nanaka prepared dinner, to which Kaito offered, "Do you need any help?"

Nanaka smiled and replied, "No, Kaito-kun, it's not necessary. You're a guest, let me take care of the cooking. You'll see how good of a cook I am."

Kaito, smiling, said, "Then I look forward to it." As they chatted, Chisa and Azusa were watching from the side, both thinking, "They get along very well for just meeting yesterday." Azusa, noticing this, reassured Kaito, saying, "Don't worry, Nanaka is a very good cook."

With a cat-like smile, she added, "Let's wait at the table while you tell me a bit about yourself." Saying she was interested in this super ikemen was an understatement; she wanted to know more about him and what he was doing here.

Kaito nodded in agreement and followed Azusa to the table. Meanwhile, with nothing else to do, Chisa decided to help her sister prepare dinner. When they arrived at the table, Azusa and Kaito encountered a man with white hair sitting at the same table they were heading to. Azusa greeted him with a smile, saying, "Good afternoon, Mr. Kotegawa, how are you?"

The man smiled back and replied, "Azusa, it's good to see you here." Then, he looked at Kaito and said to Azusa, "I guess you made a new friend."

Azusa laughed and introduced the man to Kaito, saying, "Haha, no, Mr. Kotegawa, this is a friend of Nanaka's. His name is Kaito Tanaka, and Nanaka invited him to dinner with us." Upon hearing this, the man smiled and said, "Oh, Nanaka has a new friend. I didn't know that." He then looked at Kaito and chuckled, "Hahaha, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Toshio Kotegawa. I'm Nanaka and Chisa's father and also the owner of this shop."

Upon hearing that the man Azusa was talking to was Nanaka and Chisa's father, Kaito elegantly bowed and replied, "Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Kotegawa. As Azusa mentioned earlier, my name is Kaito Tanaka. I'm a friend of Nanaka's. I apologize for coming without notice."

Mr. Kotegawa smiled and said, "Don't be so formal, just call me Toshio. And it's no trouble at all for you to join us for dinner." After this brief introduction, Azusa took a chair and sat down, indicating another chair next to her for Kaito, saying, "Come, come, sit here." Kaito nodded, took the chair, and elegantly seated himself.

Seeing this, Azusa laughed and asked, "Are you always so elegant in everything?" Kaito, with a smile, replied, "Yes, I always am. My father taught me that elegance is a way of showing respect not only to oneself but also to others."

Mr. Toshio, who was also listening to the conversation, replied with a smile, "Your father sounds like a very wise man." Upon hearing this, Kaito modestly replied, "Thank you very much for your compliments toward my father." Azusa said with a smile, "Wow, your father sounds like a very important person."

"Well, let's not digress, Kaito-kun, I wanted to ask you how old you are," Azusa asked, looking at Kaito expectantly, as if urging him to hurry up and say it. Kaito smiled and replied, "To answer your question, Azusa-san, I'm 18 years old." Upon hearing this, Azusa nodded repeatedly and said, "18 years old, I see, I see. You're the same age as Nanaka and me."

After learning Kaito's age, Azusa asked, "Since you're 18 years old, what university do you attend?" Considering Kaito's appearance, Azusa assumed he went to a very prestigious university for rich people.

Upon hearing Azusa's question, Kaito replied, "I don't attend any university." Azusa nodded upon hearing the response and said, "I see, I see, you don't attend any university." But when she replayed her words, she looked at him in surprise and said, "Wait, you said you don't attend any university?"

Kaito calmly responded, "That's correct, I don't attend any university." Upon hearing this, Azusa asked, "So I suppose you work in something?" Kaito replied with a small smile, "One could say that." Azusa, upon hearing this, pouted and said, "Mou, is it a yes or a no?"

While they were chatting, Mr. Toshio changed the channel on the TV he was watching, and a reporter appeared, saying, "Kaito Tanaka did it again, the young genius and future heir of Tanaka Enterprises has developed another very innovative technology that will help millions of people around the world. The development is about personalized nanobots that enter the bloodstream and destroy cancerous cells or other diseases."

This report caught the attention of both Azusa and Mr. Toshio, who were staring at the TV in astonishment, where Kaito could be seen with a big smile, waving to the crowd that cheered him for his great achievement that changed the lives of millions of people. And then they both looked at Kaito and synchronously asked him, "Is that you?"

Kaito replied with a calm smile, "Yes, that's me." Upon hearing this, both Azusa and Mr. Toshio were left speechless.
