18 The dragon

A few hours later they were already halfway there and also by this time kei had already explained to Itami what's going on with Rory, who right now was inside the car, with an esdeath that was clearly trying to mark territory.

'Where will the dragon be, wasn't it supposed to have shown up by now' thought kei while at the same time wondering if the weave armor was doing its job or not.

But while kei was in her thoughts, Rory was completely engrossed in everything going on around her, and although she was somewhat annoyed that esdeath wouldn't let her sit with kei, she decided that she wouldn't bother her for now, since the sight she had now of kei was as if he was the bandit chief or something like that, because the serious face he had didn't match at all with the actions he was doing, because he was petting esdeath as if she was a cat and even though the sight was kind of weird for some reason she couldn't take her eyes off kei.

"Looks like he's close already." kei said snapping Rory out of her thoughts as esdeath listened intently.

"What do you mean?" asked Rory, because kei spoke so suddenly without any context, plus they talked only a little bit, so that later they just stayed in a comfortable silence.

"Looks like we'll have to give our dear dragon friend a stronger punishment this time." kei mentioned without responding directly to Rory as he brought his hand closer to the radio to talk to Itami.

"Can I be the one to punish him master kei?" This time esdeath wanted to directly kill the dragon, to erase the problem at the root.

"Yes, you can punish him but you can't kill him, he will be of use later." said kei giving esdeath permission while making it clear that she couldn't kill him for now.

"Okay, master kei but can I at least take off one arm?" asked esdeath reluctantly agreeing that she couldn't kill him so she might as well ask if she could take off one arm.

"Sure, I guess one arm is fine." kei accepted esdeath's request as he turned on the radio to warn Itami.

"Itami we have an unwanted guest." kei said over the radio.

"What do you mean unwanted guest?" asked Itami he had a bad feeling about this.

"Dragon" said kei calmly as he waited for Itami's reply.

"Dragon?" repeated Itami still not understanding what he meant.

"Yes, dragon." Kei repeated again.

"Where is it?" asked Itami while trying to suppress his urge to scream, right now, because not long ago he is having a conversation with his partner about this very situation.

"Stick your head out of the window and look in the direction of the sun." suggested kei.

"okay" Itami accepted kei's suggestion, so it didn't take long for him to stick his head out of the window and look in the direction of the sun.

"Combat imminent !!!" shouted Itami over the radio, which made everyone else in the squadron take their positions.

"Itami don't worry about the villagers I'll protect them." said kei over the radio again.

"Won't you help with the dragon!?!?" asked Itami somewhat surprised because he thought kei would be the first to attack the dragon.

"Yes, I will help but I will let you guys participate too, so don't worry I have you covered." replied kei.

"It's okay we're counting on you." said Itami as he told himself that fighting a dragon was not in his contract.

It was at that moment that kei's car stopped and, he got out and then jumped on top of it followed by esdeath and Rory.

It didn't take long for Itami and the squadron to overtake him in an attempt to direct the dragon's attention elsewhere, away from the villagers.

It was just at that moment that the other wagons stopped behind kei and, some of them wondered why the sudden stop.

Though they were not long in their thoughts when suddenly a great roar was heard.

*GRRR!!!!**GRRR!!!**GRRR!!!**GRRR!!!*

The dragon's roar imposed a great fear in the hearts of the villagers who reflexively tried to make their horses move, although these for some reason did not move from their place and only had their gaze to the front completely ignoring the dragon's roar.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of everything." kei's voice was heard all over the place.

Everyone at that very instant forgot about the dragon and concentrated on the feeling they were feeling, one that they had never felt before so comforting and heart warming that they all thought that dying with this feeling wouldn't be so bad.

But at that very instant, someone was heard snapping their fingers, only to have light blue domes form around the wagons and although they should have been surprised somehow they knew it was protecting them and they knew this was kei's doing.

This was due to the skills [King's Will] and [King's Aura] which were involuntarily activated by kei.

"I think that will be enough." said kei as he looked at how the dragon was flying in his direction.

'you've got to be fucking around, just when I don't want to fight him.' thought kei.

*GRRR!!!*

The dragon's roar was heard again, but this time he was already over the dome containing esdeath, Rory and kei.

"Can I kill it?" Esdeath asked as he looked directly at the dragon with his eyes which seemed to be hollow.

"No, you can't but you can play with it a little." kei remarked again.

*GRRR!!!*

The dragon roared again because he was trying to break through the dome, while being watched by a Rory who wasn't paying so much attention to the dragon but was paying attention to the dome, while in her mind assessing how strong and sturdy it is.

"Ahh" kei complained "you're too loud." kei said as he raised his hand towards the dragon.

"why don't you go and play with my friends for a moment, then my dear maid will take care of you." kei said and apparently the dragon seemed to understand.

*GRRR!!!*

He roared again in denial.

"well, that wasn't a question." said kei as he waved his hand and the dragon immediately shot off in the direction of Itami's squad and then fell somewhat away from them as it was slammed into the ground by the force kei had used.

"Let's attack while it's stunned from the fall." said Itami as he saw that the dragon was taking a while to get up.

So the others heeded what was said, and started attacking while circling around the dragon to distract it.

(The fight is going to be the same as in the anime so I won't describe it).

After they were fighting for a while, kei decided to give them some advice since they don't have tuka in their car like in the canon.

"Itami I think you should aim for the eyes, because you won't do any damage to it, unless you shoot it with an RPG" Kei mentioned while amplifying his voice once again for everyone to hear.

"Thank you!!!" came Itami's voice in the distance.

So Itami wasted no time, and neither did the squad to start firing towards the dragon's face, causing it to cover its face.

Which gave them enough time for one of them to fire an RPG, which by the time they fired it was too late because the dragon started moving again.

"Looks like they'll need some help." kei said to esdeath and Rory who were just watching the whole battle unfold.

"I'll give them a little help" Rory replied as she started swinging her halberd.

"Ok, but if they don't do any damage, esdeath will take care of it." Kei mentioned.

"Okay" Rory replied as she walked up to the edge of the roof of the car to then swing her halberd towards the dragon.

"Are you ready." Kei asked.

"Sure, though I won't be the one to rip the dragon's arm off." said esdeath as she also said a few words under her breath "Shiro it's time to eat."

"Ohh!!!" Kei was surprised "so little Shiro will have the honors." said kei with some laughter.

"yes, she will be the one to do it." said esdeath so that then from her wrist, a bracelet became visible which had the shape of a snake.

It began to move and then fell to the ground and began to grow rapidly until it reached its original size.

*GRRR!

But while this was happening the dragon roared again, while dodging the missile again, and all this was because right now he was in something like a berserker mode since he was too angry.

Because not only had kei hit him and sent him flying which had already happened twice counting the one in the forest, and not only that but now that he tried to attack kei he couldn't even get close, so right now he decided that it would be better to leave the place, since he is also outnumbered although he didn't consider this at first because he believed that kei was the only threat.

So you could see how it is that the dragon started to fly, trying to leave the place which kei would not let go.

"I guess it was too much for him." said kei seeing the dragon retreating "But I guess I can help a little, and by the way give little Shiro something to eat." mentioned kei while thinking that it would be best to leave the dragon in the same conditions as canon unless he wants the dark elves to die first.

And since the plot armor can help him but it can't do miracles. (well yes it can but come on!!! I needed a reason to make the dragon lose the arm like canon).

So with another wave of his hand kei made the dragon return to the ground roughly creating a crater around where this one had fallen.

"All yours little Shiro" said kei cheerfully "You are allowed to take off an arm but not kill it'' said kei playfully.

While Shiro the giant snake only nodded her head, which left all the spectators with their mouths open, but leaving that aside Shiro went to the dragon, which was still recovering from the fall and began to coil around his body and then quickly approached his left arm.

But this was not taken in a good way by the dragon, which immediately released its fire breath while it started to move in a jerky way trying to get Shiro off its back.

For her part Shiro felt nothing when the fire hit her, and she just kept moving forward completely ignoring the dragon's attempts to get her to let go.

And it didn't take too long for her to be close enough to open her mouth and with one bite she completely tore off the dragon's arm, while with ice she immediately stitched up the wound.

So once she got what she was looking for, she quickly released the dragon and returned to esdeath as she finished swallowing, then began to shrink and place herself back on esdeath's wrist and then turn invisible.

While the dragon didn't take long to recover so that immediately realizing that no one was attacking it, it flew off as fast as it could while ignoring the pain after all its life was more important right now.

"Good job everyone." said kei as he made everyone listen to him.

Which caused everyone to jump in amazement and joy as Itami's squadron was finally able to relax for a moment.

But on the other hand lelei's master was completely amazed at what he was seeing, a beast that was fully trained, while there was a person who used magic at a level he had never seen, which caused all kinds of questions to invade his head like 'who is he? some kind of demigod? how can he have so much strength? did he come from the other side of the portal? how do you control magic without an enchantment?' those kinds of questions invade him even though he knew it would be hard for him to tell them.

At night after everyone had calmed down and rested, they decided that it would be better to continue advancing since it would not take long to reach the next city, although there was a group that decided to stay with them, among them clearly Lelei and Tuka, who had woken up in the last roar that Kei made when he whipped the dragon against the ground.

So with that said it was decided that they would take all of them and the elves as refugees to the hill of arnus, so with that it was decided to continue advancing given that no one died because of kei's intervention.
