Chapter 5: Aren't Demons Supposed To Be The Bullies?

 (Zi Yuan POV) 

My day started like all the rest since I took the vow to defend the Pool of Eternal Life, but as I started my meditation I kept having the feeling that something is wrong with the world. I sense a great evil coming from the west, I did not feel that kind of evil since I was in the presence of Emperor Han. But this is different the emperor was a human, but this thing is darker, and more dangerous also to make things even worse I'm feeling that it keeps getting stronger and stronger. 

"Great Buddha my only wish is that my little Lin will stay safe please" 

After my prayer I stood and looked at Shangri-La and the people going about their life, and I reminded myself what am I protecting and strengthened my resolve. 

All of a sudden I felt something appearing behind me, and I looked at the two monsters that suddenly showed up near the Pool of Eternal Life. I instantly felt it that demon is the danger that I kept sensing, I quickly pulled my sword and warn the demon. 

"Demon I don't know how you found this place, but I warn you I" 

Before I could finish my sentence, the demon said while looking at me. 

"Drop you weapon and bow in front of me witch" 

(Apophis POV) 

I put a lot of magic into that one, lets see if it worked or I will simply kill her. She dropped her sword, but I could see from her expression that she was fighting my mind control. After a few seconds she had an emotionless expression and walk toward me and bowed. 

"Good I shall reward you for obeying my order now look at me and open your mouth" 

I wanted to test a theory of mine about the demon blood. I know that normal humans turn in to nagas, but what about a powerful witch like her. 

"My love I am more beautiful than this old woman, I can serve you better than her" 

Said Meela with a jealous expression as she looked at Zi Yuan with disdain. 

"Don't worry she's not my type, and I never planned to do it with her." 

After hearing that Meela smiled and hug me. I just shook my head and took out the dagger from my inventory, cut my wrist and let Zi Yuan drink my blood. After a few minutes she started turning and as I expected she didn't turn in to a naga but a Gorgon. 

"Very good now kill everyone in Shangri-La and bring me all the other treasures that they guard in this place" 

She nodded her head, pick up her sword and left. I didn't pay her much mind after that and walk toward the Pool of Eternal Life. Immortality is mine, I can't believe this is actually happening. Just one more step and I will be inside the pool. 

"Good riddance mortality" 

I then step into the pool and submerge my body in the waters. I didn't exit the pool and stayed there as I felt the waters doing their work and strengthening my body and soul, I even felt that my symbiont is getting stronger.

 As the energy from the water entered my muscles and bones, and my entire body started to glow white. When I noticed that the pool stopped the strengthening, I exit the pool and looked at my body. I had grown taller to two meters and I get muscles all over my body, I also felt that I got more skills.

I did it I am an immortal and with all this power I am basically at the peak of middle rank demons, I can't wait to return and upgrade my bloodline.

I looked at Meela who had and excited and crazy expression as she looked at the Pool of Eternal Life. I smiled and grabbed her face with both my hands. 

"Do you think I will ever let a useless pawn like you use something so valuable" 

She looked shocked and betrayed at my words, she started to shed tears and was about to say something as I cut her off and use mind control. 

"The Pool of Eternal Life doesn't exist, we are just here looking for treasures. Now return to be my obedient little toy again." 

She blinked for a second and then looked at me with a smile and kiss me, after a few minutes we stopped, and she put her head on my chest. I then pointed toward the Pool of Eternal Life and asked. 

"Meela can you tell me what is this thing" 

She looked at me confused for a second and spoke. "Isn't this just a hot spring here in the mountains" 

I chuckled a little as I caressed her face, she is fun to play with I would really get bored after leaving this world. I then made an item to store the water of the Pool of Eternal Life and waited to Zi Yuan to return. 

I didn't have to wait long as Zi Yuan returned soon, and I saw her carrying two items that I assume are my treasures. She stood in front of me with her emotionless face and offered me the items while explaining. 

"This are the two other treasures the Heaven-Cleaving Halberd capable of controlling water and splitting mountains, and the other the Core of The Red Dragon Longwei gives you the power to control fire." 

I looked at both treasures but what really interest me was the red dragon core, I am sure that after a little modification by the system the Halberd will be a terrifying weapon. As for the dragon core lets do it right now.

As the core aperid in my chest, I felt the fire magic in the core spreading across my body and started to heat me up and smoke begin to exit my nostrils as I breathe. An idea appeared in my mind, and I gather the fire magic in my lungs and then breathed it out, and like I hoped a fire breath came out. 

"HAHAHA maybe I will become the red dragon emperor in the future." 

Putting my little dream aside I order Zi Yuan to kill all the other monsters here and left for London, after all my power ups and the fact that this world is a low magic one, I can only stay in this world for maybe a month. 

I teleported to Baltus's location and appeared in the British museum, where he was still waiting for me with the books of the dead and living. It was already almost noon, I truly didn't waste a minute in this world and advanced by leaps and bounds. 

"Well let's put the books in the inventory, and continue to spread my minions all over the world" 

England is already infected and north Europe especially France, I expect by the end of this week to have already killed most of the world. 

I touched the books of the dead and living, but the moment I touched the book of the living my hand burnt and I quickly retracted it. I looked at my hand and saw that it did heal but slowly, and it should take a few minutes to fully recover. 

'It seems like Ra don't like demons touching his book, I guess it makes sense after all his main enemy is Apophis. Who I am suspecting is a demon lord, because of the title Eater-up of souls.' 

I put the books in my inventory and started thinking about my plans for harvesting more souls, and maybe allying myself with Anubis or Apophis. 

Outside the museum the sky started turning black, as black clouds block out the sun and a lightning storm started and struck the buildings below. After a few minutes of this natural disaster, a voice echoed through the city. 

"DEMON YOUR SINS CANNOT BE OVERLOOKED ANYMORE RETURN THE BOOK OF THE LIVING OR PREPARE TO FACE OBLIVION!!!!" 

At the same time the ground around the museum turn to black send, and slowly figures started to emerge from it. Tall humanoids with the head of a Jackal welding various weapons, a warrior taller than the other step forward and demanded. 

"The great god Anubis decree that if the book of the dead will not return to its rightful owner, your soul will be tortured for all eternity!!!" 

I walked to the balcony and looked at the army of the underworld, and then looked at the sky with a determined face and shouted. 

"I SURRENDER PLEASE DON'T HURT ME GREAT GODS" 

What kind of joke is this these two powerful gods teaming up against a low rank demon like me, it's simply bullying the weak. They should be ashamed of themselves. 

"I WILL NOW KILL MY ARMY AND RETURN THE BOOKS TO YOU IT WILL TAKE JUST A FEW MINUTES" 

I then used the Progenitor skill to kill all my minions, except Baltus and made their souls return to me. Soon the sky started to have rivers of hundreds of thousands of souls, that flow straight toward me. When I finished, I ordered Baltus to walk next to me and be quiet. 

"Anubis and Ra I really thank both of you, if not for your patient I would have really regretted coming to this world. But it's really time that I leave both of your meat head." 

I then killed Baltus and took his soul, the moment I did that a gate of the abyss opened behind me as I didn't fight the will of the world. 

"DON'T YOU DARE"

Before they could finish their threats, I jump into the portal and returned to the abyss, not interested in them anymore. 

As I exit the portal I looked around and notice that I return to the same altar, I even recognize a few of the demons here from last time. I didn't stay and started flying away from there at full speed, and even increase the speed of my wings in the system to Mach 3. 

"They probably won't chase me into the abyss, but better to play it safe." 

After flying for an hour, I decided to stop at a mountain, and look at the books more closely this time. Something tells me that these books are more valuable than they look, for both of these gods to almost descent to protect them. 

I opened both of the books, but aside from the fact that the book of Ra still burns me every time I touch it. I didn't find anything out of the ordinary, and then I thought about something but didn't dare to believe it. 

When I ate my egg at the beach that day aside from my true name and general information about the abyss, I also got the method of how to split the souls. I follow the method and my hands become ghostly, and I put them inside the books and felt it soul fragments. I quickly took them out and put them into the system. And there it was 2 highest quality soul fragments. 

"Forget about hitting the jackpot, I just took all the owner's money, wife and daughter"
