I'll be back soon...

Mrs. Otto just cried in her mother's arms for a while until his father took them both inside the house. They all sat in the living room silently for a while. Her mother, Clara, finally dared to ask once more. She is sad for her daughter. How did someone so gorgeous turn into something like her? It's been years since they saw each other. Clara clearly remembers the face people didn't get tired of looking at. But unless she tells them what is wrong, how can they possibly help her?

Nora just shook her head in a no. She kept staring at the walls of the house.

'How happy I used to be when I was here. I left my parents alone for such a long time just for someone who doesn't even care about me, even when I am the only one alive who they can depend upon. Now I will spend the rest of my life with my parents, taking care of them. I don't need anyone to feed me.' Nora thought to herself and slowly her gloomy face gained a small smile.

She smiled at her parents.

"Your daughter is finally back." She said and went to her room upstairs. Everything in her room was still the same. The music CDs and movie reels were all placed neatly on the shelves. All the clothes she used to wear before marriage, the novels she used to read, everything, brought back millions of her memories. She promised herself to live a better life.

Her parents didn't understand a single thing, but they were now finally able to feel happy as Nora was again smiling.

...

Twenty-five years ago, Nora decided to marry Otto. Mrs. Clara refused right after she was told that Otto lived on his father's endless savings. She was afraid that Otto will take a wrong step if they left him free for a long time.

Nora was determined to marry Otto, so Clara presented the condition of Otto working. Otto used to be a bright person in those days. He agreed easily to the condition and started working as a staff member in a hotel. After ten years of marriage, Nora realised that Otto was unable to give her the happiness of being a mother. Things started changing. Nora was still the same, but Otto's personality changed drastically. He started behaving rudely and stopped being good to Nora. He never allowed Nora to come to his parent's house anymore and refused to talk about kids.

...

Otto was standing at the door with his untreated, burnt hand. After about 20 minutes, a taxi parked in front of his home and an elderly woman got off it. The driver helped her down with a smile. Otto ran over, he paid the taxi driver with a sharp look on his face and gestured for him to go. The driver felt awkward and left.

Otto's mother smiled at him. Otto hid his burnt hand in the pocket. They walked inside slowly, at a pace that makes his mom comfortable. As soon as they entered the house; his mom was terrified to death.

"What did you do here? How did you manage to make a wreck out of this house? Where is Nora?!!"

With every step she walked toward the kitchen, the mess got even messier."

"What were you even trying to cook? Who allowed you in the kitchen in the first place?"

"I don't know mom, she's the one who did it all, and at the last moment, she left the house. I had no idea what to do, so I called you over."

"What did you do to make that calm soul lose patience?" Her words were sharp, but she spoke with a calm voice. A tone of wisdom matching her wrinkled but beautiful face. Her eyes were as calm as an ocean and her gaze was strong because of the confidence she had.

"I...I. didn't do something big, I was just angry. I tried to calm myself down by talking, but she unnecessarily got angry and left the house. She didn't even say anything."

" Are you sure that you tried to talk?"

"Uh,... umm. I don't know, mom." Otto looked a little stressed.

"Ok, I won't enter your personal matters, but make sure to apologize. You can't live without her and you know it. Look, she was cooking your favorites." She pointed towards another pot on the stand.

Otto said nothing. His ego didn't let him say a word. More specifically, it wasn't for his ego that he behaved this way. There was a thorn piercing his heart whenever he looked at his wife, and his mom was well aware of it.

"Ok, my son; you sit here. I'll cook for you, but before that, show me your hand. It needs to be treated. You don't need to hide your pain, share it with your loved ones. Maybe the pain isn't as big as you think it is. There is a solution for everything. Maybe you can manage to get back the original form out of a destroyed one."

Otto understands what his mom meant. Otto tried to remove his hand from the pocket. He was well aware of how important it is to get it treated. But he has no idea what he can do. His mom offered him help. But, "No mom, I'll take care of it myself. You just quickly cook me something and yes, I got transferred to Riverside Resort, and I am leaving tomorrow. So I don't know when we'll meet again. So cook me something delicious." Otto finally had a smile on his face. Although it was a fake one, for his mom it was still worth it.

"Don't forget to do some important things before you go, especially if you are planning to go alone this time."

"How did you know about that? "

"I am your mom, son. And moms... know everything. Take care of your wounds. If those are difficult to handle, ask for help. Don't hesitate. It's ok to feel weak sometimes, just make sure that your behavior isn't hurting people around you. Look in the mirror and make sure that you are not being a coward. I'll pack your stuff after cooking. Ok? Heed my words when you still have time."

"Yes... yes, mom, I'll... try to do it."

Otto went to apply ointment to his burn and his mother entered a whole new world of adventure. I mean she entered the kitchen, to cook,

In about two hours, everything was done.

"Ok, son, I am leaving."

"But's a bit too late mom, is it ok to go now?"

"Your father is definitely standing on his one foot in my wait right now, if I listen to you now, who'll cook for him then?"

"Ok mom, let me drive you there."

"It's ok, I'll find a taxi."

"But..."

"No buts. You just make sure what you need to do."

"Ok mom, but let me walk you to the taxi."

"Ok son."

Otto quickly took his keys and locked the door. There he noticed that Nora didn't even take her keys along. They walked for about 15 minutes.

'When was the last time I came on a walk like this? Nora loves having small chats and walks, but I was too ignorant of her needs.'

He was busy in his train of thoughts when his mother suddenly interrupted.

"Your everything is packed well. It's just the toothbrush that you need to put in the bag tomorrow. Don't forget about it. There is a taxi. Walk me till there then you can go back. Have a good sleep and start anew. Everything will be alright once you start changing your bad things into good ones. I can just wish you luck. The rest is up to you."

"Ok, mom. Say hello to dad. I'll visit you both once in a while."

"Bye."

"Bye, mom. See you soon."

He walked backed back home all alone. It was dark already.

He remembers the first day he walked together with his Nora here. 'If it were not for my incompetency, we would have had a happy life.'

He always kept thinking about stuff like that. It made him feel useless. It was just today when he realized how much he tired his wife out.

He unlocked the door and looked at his empty house. It was uncomfortable. He just quickly went to the bed.

'I'll go there alone, get settled there, make everything beautiful, and bring Nora over. Then I'll tell the truth. I'll tell her the reasons for my behavior. We'll find a way out. It'll be alright soon.' He thought to himself before sleeping.

....

"This is what happened, mom. I got extremely angry this time, so I ran away. Is it wrong?" Nora was doing her favorite thing with her mom. Walking and chatting. Heart-to-heart talks.

"Did you ever try to tell him how you felt? Or simply did you ever tell him that you were disappointed and sad about his behavior?"

"But mom, he used to understand everything even before I felt it myself. I don't know when it vanished."

"Is there something bothering him?"

"I don't think so"

"Are you sure?"

"N....no"

"Did you try to comfort him?"

"But he doesn't like when I talk about it."

"It's ok, wait for him to come back, try talking everything out with him when he comes."

"Do you think he'll come?" Nora said in a low voice. Over these years, the trust she had in herself and his husband was shattered into pieces."

"You just wait and see. If everything goes right, he'll be here in about a week. He'll spend time with us and he will surprise you with something as well. You just wait patiently. Enjoy your time with us. Regain your original self and get ready for a new start."

...

Everything seems to be alright on the surface, but no one among these knows what is going to happen in the coming future.

...

Otto got up early in the morning. He got ready and placed a note on the table.

'I will be back for you. I am going to bring my old self back to you soon. You just wait for me.
