Claude's POV

My resentment towards Mio started when my parents care about Mio more than me as their real son. I began to bully Mio behind my parents and left her alone when she followed me. I was blind to follow my resentment and never wanted to know more about Mio. I even threw her aside to her biological parents. Her parents are poor and don't have much money, even for eating three times a day. I thought that she would beg my parents to keep staying at our house, but Mio decided to leave instead.

I never imagined that one day Mio would let my family go. I always thought that she likes to stay in my family because we are rich and have a lot of money. But I never knew that she is a pure girl without any malicious intention, and I used to trample on her pure feelings. After she moved out, she stopped coming to my house and lived with mediocre money that she couldn't even buy clothes for herself.

I always thought that Mio went shopping and wasting money without blinking, but later I found out that she never used their family's money at all if it was not for a significant thing. I thought that she wasted money so much, not without proof. I have seen her bring many shopping bags with luxurious brands over the country, and it was so expensive.

Later, I found out that it was his mother who bought her anything because Mio never asked anything to my parents. Mio even never asked them to buy a cellphone, while everyone already had one. My parents felt guilty because they didn't realize that Mio was the only one who didn't have a cellphone. Mio never spent her pocket money for herself at all, and when she moved out of my house, she even left the bank account of her pocket money beside her bed.

I soon realized that she already saved so much money in her bank account and decided to leave the money as she knew that this money was not hers. I felt embarrassed when I found out that Mio never thought of herself as the part of my family because I always said that "she is not Lockheart's real daughter, and as an adopted daughter, you had to know your place."

Mio never asked for anything, and even she also left the cellphone that my parents gave her. Mio never went out to have fun because she was worried that she would spend my parent's money, and Mio always said to her only friend, Lia, that Mio didn't have much money and the money she had was my parent's money.

Mio didn't dare to spend my parent's money. It was also my fault because I said that my parent's money was not her, to begin with. Lia always felt pity to see her best friend's thoughtfulness and kindness. Lia the one who paid for her meal. Mio frequently refused Lia to pay for her food. Mio is a beautiful bird trapped in a gold cage, but she is poor because she can't use the gold cage properly.

Even though Mio had much money in her hands, she was conscious that she didn't have the right to use it as her own. She had a lot of money, but she was no different from a girl who came from an impoverished family. I never imagined how much she had suffered all this time without me knowing it.

I always thought that Mio was an evil woman who was crazy in love with me. I always thought that Lily was a pure and gentle girl, but she was a nasty girl full of malicious intent in disguise. I felt that my eyes were blind, and couldn't distinguish between good and sinister.

I always thought that Mio was a wicked girl, but in reality, she is a pure girl. I always thought that Lily was a gentle girl, but she is a malicious person instead. Lia is right when she said that I had poor eyes for reading people's characters. Lily was good at hiding tricks on her sleeve and deceived me without changing her face.

I remembered her last word before she passed away.

It was the last time that I saw Mio, but I never thought that it was also the last time I heard her voice, because one week after our last meeting, a police officer found her cold body in the corner of the street full of blood around her. When I found out the reason behind her murderer, I found out that Lily paid an assassin to kill Mio. While I knew the fact, my heart beat so hard, and my heart was covered in pain and my tears flowed down through my cheeks unstoppable.

Mio was right at the end. I regretted it so much, but I couldn't fix it anymore, because Mio already left me forever.

Wei and Jane, Claude's parents saw Claude stole glances at Mio and they laughed without sounds. They also knew that love comes late sometimes. So Claude is a late bloomer, he didn't realize it himself that he liked Mio.

The innocent Mio always thought that Claude was deliberately bothering her, but never thought that Claude loved her too.
