110 Ship for Mana Storage Box?

Kyzer spoke in a respectful tone but with a hint of hate,

"Will this do?".

Scarlett gave a small yelp in the sudden threatening sense she perceived from Kyzer.

"Y-yes'.

Not bothering with Scarlett anymore, Kyzer turned to Ritzy.

"Let's proceed with the tour of available ships we're able to offer you".

Walking down the corridor, Kyzer would point from ship to ship. He would mainly show the vessels that were medium-sized or smaller since a large wouldn't normally be used for selling and they wouldn't dare part with one. Not only are they very expensive, but they are also very rare. Making them only used for military or very profiting business.

Ritzy buying one would be wasteful and irresponsible. For the guild, it would be idiotic because of how rare it is to come by getting large ships.

The first ship Kyzer showed them was a long but skinny ship with a large verticle sail. It would prove very useful in escaping and passing through dangerous areas quickly but the enemy currently was a very skilled veteran.

Seth the Vulgarian, most likely had plans to capture any escaping ships. Especially since he's most well know trait was his tendency to capture and plunder ship instead of sinking them. Making it reasonable to believe Seth would have methods to capture various kinds of ships.

Ritzy rejecting the ship, Kyzer took him to the next ship. This time the vessel was a tall small ship. The front of the ship was compromised of two floors but the back also had two floors but elevated. The front had stairs to the back first floor, and the back first floor had stairs to the second floor in the front, and the second floor in the front had stairs to the second floor of the back.

The areas were divided as such; the first floor of the front was used for storage, the first floor of the back was for navigation, the second floor of the front was for cannons, and the second floor of the back was used driving the ship.

This ship in particular intrigued Ritzy but it didn't have much defense capabilities. The ship was open concept, with the only enclosed area being the bottom front area. Everything else is an open concept so any archer or cannon men would have a clear sight of them.

Ritzy,

"Do you have something with more defense capabilities. Something very hard to capture".

Kyzer thought for a moment and then remembered something.

"Follow me, I believe you'll be satisfied with this one".

Passing by two ships, they arrived at a regular looking ship but with a distinct difference in its railing. Where the wooden rails were located, there were slanted metal plates.

Kyzer,

"This ship I bought from the Darya Sailing College. The top railing area has metal plates that prevent harpoons from penetrating. Stopping the forceful process of pulling one's ship to the enemy".

"It may sound like a revolutionary idea but the bang from the harpoon causes the metal to become severely bent and causing the wood holding the metal plates explode into splinters. The splinter heading straight to the other crewmates, severely injuring them and potentially leaving them blind. If they're lucky, they might only be left like a porcupine with no permanent damage".

"This may be a huge dealbreaker but we can remove the plates and it'll still do its job. Luckily the wooden railing also has small knife holsters so they can cut any harpoons tethered to the ship. Having that feature, and an equal division of speed and defense. I think this would be the best ship".

"Since I can't offer you anything better than this, I'll put a ten-percent discount and include the de-attached metal plates for free".

Ritzy,

"Leave the plates and get an extra pair. I want to do some modifications".

Kyzer, Scarlett, and Kyzer's assistant looked at Ritzy with a confused face.

Ritzy,

"Also put some nails because I plan to use the extra plates. If you can do that, I'll buy the ship right now".

Kyzer was shocked but quickly reacted,

"Of course, I'll also add in the nails for free! It'll be 5 platinum coins!".

Kyzer was filled with relief and eagerness. Originally, he thought this deathtrap of a ship was a huge waste of money. He believed he would need to lose the plates and turn it into a common ship. Making the 7 platinum he wasted on buying it from the academy turn into a major loss.

With Ritzy taking it immediately, he would be able to sell it at a used price and make a blessed noble friend. The extra plates didn't cost much compared to being in Ritzy's good graces as well.

Ritzy then took out a magic item. It was a mana storage box the size of Ritzy's hand.

"Would you like to do a trade instead of a sell?".

Scarlett, Kyzer, and Kyzer's assistant quickly had their eyes gleaming at the mana storage box. Seeing its rather larger than normal size, intricate gold, and brown design, plus its gleam of seeming almost used or new. They were in a bit of a shock.

Ritzy,

"I received this as a reward for saving Lord's Benedire life. He said I had a talent for fire magic and this mana storage should allow me to practice more if my magic to become part of the best in the future".

The average mana storage boxes have the capability of doing at least twenty basic spells. With this small amount of spells and storage boxes needed to be recharge, it caused for practicing to become very difficult. If one didn't live at or near a powerful enough city that owned a mana room, people would have to send their storage boxes away for days just to recharge it. Making training very long and difficult.

In Leaf County, there are no mana rooms. Christopher had led the city in a different path where everyone beneath him learned skills. Skills do not require mana but it does come with the cost of being very restrictive and stamina consuming.

Christopher had purposefully done this to make all his people weaker than him while also making his bloodline stronger. Everyone of Christopher's children received a tutor to teach them how to create their own mana. Making his family the only one around able to use the might of spells.

The only other way Christopher's people could use spells was to buy the severely expensive magic rings but hey had a very limitive amount of mana in them. They were only good for emergencies.
