Chapter 17: The Mark of Infinity

'You know, when you're not paying much attention to your surroundings, a lot of strange things would happen.' Zenkichi thought to himself as he pushed himself up for the 3999th time, 'Like, getting yourself killed by a bottle to the head and waking to find yourself stealing someone else's body and life, while also trying to live the second life you've been given.'

Zenkichi pushed himself up for the 4000th time and stood up from his position, showing his breath slightly rough and sweat dripping down his heavily defined pecs and eight-packed abs, from the morning workout he had done.

He turned his head towards the sliding, full-body height window in front of him to witness the rise of the rising sun from the east.

He let out a deep relaxed sigh and smiled. "Truly, another great morning to wake up to."

After an entire day of getting a sex friend, having Medaka ease up more to her childhood friend's changes, taming a russian hound, and crushing a coup, Zenkichi finally had the time for himself to relax.

*Ding! User has logged in for day four. Congratulations! You receive the [Mark of Infinity]!

Zenkichi raised an eyebrow. "Well, that's both interesting and ominous..." After he said that a black purple light appeared on top of his left hand. He winces, as he felt pain from his left hand like a knife piercing it. He looked down at to see a black infinity tattoo–of two snakes eating the other's tail, intertwining, to form an infinity symbol with a black circle around it.

A few seconds after he saw it, the black purple light surrounding the tattoo dissipated, along with the pain, with the tattoo remaining only.

"What the heck...?" Zenkichi muttered.

He looked at the eerie looking black infinity tattoo on his hand with a look of disbelief and fear. He almost shouted at the system to take the symbol back, even if it took his hand! Because he partially knew what the tattoo on his hand was and he didn't want anything to do with 'that'!

'There is only one being in that almost hentai anime that I know of that carries the title and power of Infinity, Ophis.' Zenkichi ran down his unmarked hand down his face. He already had his plates full with highschool and abnormal students, adding a dragon god into the mix is just too much!

Suddenly he felt a sudden rise of power coming from within him.

Zenkichi widened his eyes as he felt his physical strength and mana increased at an alarming rate, causing him to freeze in place as his bones, muscles, blood vessels and his mana pool grew more bigger and powerful!

For a moment his figure grew at the size of a certain legendary super saiyan, tearing his pants and boxers apart, it even included the gravity defying hair! Though it still stayed blonde than suddenly turning green, before he regress back into his normal, buck naked, form.

Zenkichi went down on full four, eyes widened and jaw down, and let out a silent pained scream. Only to find out that his throat had swelled up and exploded, along with his internal organs, blood vessels, muscles, only for them to regenerate back a second later but they exploded once more and his organs was restored once more–a vicious cycle ensued.

A small pool of blood started to appear beneath him as he gritted his teeth and shook his head, feeling his brain was about to explode but his regeneration stopped it from happening. 'I have to calm down! Grit your teeth through pain! The sudden increase of strength is probably coming from the Mark of Infinity on my hand.'

He clenched his hands, clawing into the wooden floor, as he closed his eyes and concentrated. The sudden power up coming from the Mark would have made his body explode into blood and chunks of meat from all the energy it was giving him. Which was unsurprising since normal humans wouldn't have been able to handle a portion of the power of Infinity.

The only reason he was alive and was bearing the pain of the power of Infinity was because of the Extremis Virus coursing though his vines, trying to reverse the damages done to him.

Originally the Extremis Virus was an advanced form of genetic manipulation, granting the human body the ability to heal and regenerate from physical damages, deformities and even psychological damages. This also includes the regrowth of severed limbs in a very short timespan, various physical enhancements as well as an exothermic ability.

However when Zenkichi had received the power to control time, the hereditary magic of the Agares Family Devil line, the magical ability had unexpectedly assimilated itself with the Extremis Virus, causing it to mutate into something else. The power of both science and magic, had combined!

Not only did his physical strength grew, but his regeneration had evolved so much that any major injuries that he receives would be healed in a split second! Making it seem as though he wasn't injured in the first place! Which it did!

His regeneration had received a time reversal attribute!

Which is why Zenkichi hoped that the Extremis virus could not only reverse the time of injuries that the mark was inflicting him, but also reversing it to the point that the Mark of Infinity hadn't imprinted on his hand!

As much as he wanted the power that the mark was giving him, how could he benefit from it if he's dead?!

So Zenkichi waited, waited, and waited as the Extremis Virus continued on healing the damages done to him while also guiding it to delete the Mark on his hand.

Seconds passed, minutes, until a full hour had passed before something unexpected happened.

"What the...?" Zenkichi sat upright and looked down on himself in disbelief. All of the pain, the injuries, his increasing power, had all stopped. He looked completely fine!

"Did the Extremis Virus get rid of the Mark?" He looked down on his left hand to see that, no, the Mark of Infinity was still there. Zenkichi's scrunched up into a frown. "It's still here? Instead or getting rid of it, did the virus mutate again and assimilate itself with the power of Infinity? No, that can't be possible. No matter how much state of the art science the Extremis Virus is, it wouldn't be able to handle the power of Infinity."

Zenkichi lips thinned and he shook his head. "I can't make any assumptions unless I find any credible evidence."

He slowly stood up from his position and lowered his head, his eyes squinted in disgust.

"First, I have to check the description of this Mark of Infinity and then clean up this bloody mess. I don't want mom fainting and wondering why I have a small pool of blood on my floor."

Zenkichi looked away from his floor and lifted his left hand, clearly showing the black purple tattoo on it. He ordered the system in his head to show the description of it.

[Mark of Infinity]: It is the mark that the Dragon God of Infinity, Ophis, that gives the bearer a portion of its power. Giving him/her a significant boost in overall power and ability, as well as being able to limitedly use the power of Infinity and many more. But the main function of this mark is that it makes the bearer the champion or avatar of the Dragon God of Infinity. A title not so easily given. Which is why the mark would have bearer undergo a test to see if it's worthy of its power and 'its' blessings. Warning: Becoming the champion/avatar of the Dragon God of Infinity would have you be given constant attention of your patron god: no matter where you are or when you are, it will always have its eyes on you.

"...." Zenkichi dropped his jaw.

'What the fuck?!'

Has a fucking Dragon God has her eyes on him now?! You've got to he kidding me!

Zenkichi palmed his face. "How could this day get any–and I just fucking jinx myself didn't I?"

"Yup~" Suddenly, he heard feminine voice coming from behind him. For some reason, it felt somewhat familiar...

'...Fuck you Murphy. Fuck. You.'

In the complete silence of the dimensional gap, where nothing could ever lived or survived, a gothic lolita slowly opened her blank black eyes.

"Zen...?"
