37 Chapter 35: Pokemon launch and GTA plans

[3rd Person POV]

After arriving at his office in Metropolis, Ven set up a meeting as usual and started discussions.

"So Pokemon was just released earlier today right? How are the numbers so far?" -Ven

"It's going smoothly. Game stores are asking for more copies as the physical release ones are getting sold out very quickly." -Staff1

"The early reviews on game forums and DCWorld are very good as well." -Staff2

"Sir we also received an offer from an animation company in Japan for an anime adaptation as well. It turns out one of the early reviewers we got from Japan had a relative in the animation industry and saw them playing the game. One thing led to another and next thing we know, we're getting official offers." -Staff3

'Hmm, in my old world, I think Nintendo was in charge of the anime version there but I can't be sure since I didn't pay attention to it that much. But I guess it's no problem to hand this off to them since I already have a lot on my hands anyway.' Ven thought.

"Alright. Send them a copy of the Fire Red but tell them the anime must follow the main protagonist of the game not their own character. In case of sequels, the anime will follow those protagonists as well." Ven exclaimed.

He didn't want an Ash Ketchum character here where he's an eternal loser of a character that wont win a league till decades later yet is still a 10 year old kid. He wanted the anime to follow the game protagonist, but expand on it instead, adding more supporting characters if they wanted, bringing life to the game even more.

Using the anime, he could put in hints or easter eggs that would lead to things in the games. This would also make the players feel as if they really were part of the story being able to participate in the game and watch the anime.

"Sir it's only the first day but we're already getting a lot of buzz about the stuff toys in DCW. A lot of posts asking for earlier release of the toys." -Staff 2

"Seems people are more enthusiastic about this that we thought." -Staff1

"Hmm, I don't mind releasing it earlier but at least on the third day." -Ven

"""Yes Sir!""'"

"Next lets discuss GTA. I heard it's nearing completion yes?"

"Yes sir, is something the matter?" -Staff1

Ven then told them about the concept of Need for Speed and asked their opinions if it was to be included or separated as its own game.

"I suggest doing a separate game, that way we can profit more."-Staff1

"I think it's not a bad idea to combine it though, that way the game is much more alive for GTA." -Staff2

"Or we can make it separate for now but maybe combine it when we do the VR version so that one is much more realistic?" -Staff3

"Yes I think I like that last idea. Let's go with that then. Also make sure to try and contact Car manufacturers later on when we do the VR version if they want to advertise their cars. If they don't, we can just model our own car designs. Don't include real world cars unless they pay us to advertise alright?" -Ven

In a random apartment in Gotham, a young woman was removing her clothes and stored a few jewels in her hidden safe. 

"Got a good haul today. Diablo! Hecate! Otto! Mommy's home!"

She then proceeded to feed her cats then went for a shower. After cleaning up, she sat on her couch and opened her laptop. She was feeling bored at the moment so she randomly tried to download a random game. 

"Hmmm Pokemon eh? Why don't we check this out, there's a few cute animals so this should be nice to look at hopefully."

After installing and starting the game, she was instantly drawn in. Choosing Bulbasaur as her starter, she went on her first Pokemon adventure. 

After reaching route 5, she came across a Pokemon that made her giddy with amusement.

"Ohmygosh! A cute cat! Meowth huh? Let's go catch this one!" 

After obtaining a Meowth, she knew, she would enjoy the game. The idea of building her cute team of Pokemon and taking care of them in game was amusing to her. As a Cat lover, she had a soft spot for cute animals after all. 

Since she was all done with her 'work' for the night, she spent the rest of the night playing and enjoying the game until she made the mistake of opening the Vgames account in DCW and saw the stuff toys to be released in a few days. She was instantly in love and made up her mind to buy all the versions they had available when it came out.

All across the country, people are enjoying the new game and started taking note of the nearest toy stores the moment they learned about the stuffed toy. 

In DCW, there were a lot of discussions regarding the game.

"How the hell are we supposed to catch that Abra, it keeps teleporting on its first turn??!!!"

For the next few days, people are mostly talking about Pokemon. It became a huge topic with a lot of hype like that time tamagochi's were popular in Ven's world. The moment toy stores started selling the stuff toys, people flocked to their stores and business was blooming. 

Because of the surge in demand of Pokemon stuff toys, several toy factories started opening up in several cities including Gotham. A lot of people were able to get new jobs and proper income. The new job openings greatly reduced street people and homeless people. 

Because of this improvement in Gotham, even Bruce Wayne was very appreciative of Ven's moves. He didn't really think much about Ven when he first started new companies but now that the effects are being felt, he realized that maybe having him go off on his own wasn't a bad idea at all. His originally suspicious mind was a little more accepting now than before. He understood that while this is a small change in Gotham, it's indeed a good one. And it has potential to go further and improve the City. He still doesn't appear as much as Bruce since Ven was taking care of that every now and then. But sometimes he was required to visit Wayne Enterprises with Lucius for either new gadgets or board related stuff that he normally just sleeps through. 

But even as he drives across Gotham as Bruce, he could see a bit of the positive improvements in Gotham. Unlike before, he was now a lot more hopeful of the future. It was not obvious to anyone but this was one huge change in the mindset of Batman, making him much more open to cooperation and thus making the possibility of joining the Justice League in the future easier.
