22 Chapter 20: Squaresoft Buzz

[3rd Person POV]

After setting up the young toyman, Ven thought this would make a very good collaboration for him and the kid once he learns to make some seriously advanced tech. The kid was a genius after all.

His existence and discovery changes things. This was huge.

So he decided to start encouraging the kid to learn anything related to computers, programming, electronics etc. But he also told him he wouldn't mind him watching anime and reading manga as long as he learns properly. Ven knew his anime and manga influences were also part of his inspirations for his technological mojo.

Ven then started arranging and planning for the kid. He wanted to make sure he properly utilizes his genius for his gaming plans.

For the next few days, forums and chat groups were all going ballistic with his recent visits to Universities.

"Hey did you hear? Wayne Enterprises representative Ven Matthews was spotted visiting several Universities looking for new talent related to game development!"

"For real?! Man I wish I get picked as well! Getting a job from them would set you up for life!"

"I heard he was also looking for talented musicians and voice actors!"

"I hope he also comes to our school! Maybe we can show him our good sides and also get hired!"

"I heard from my friend from Tokyo U that several students were selected and were called with their legal guardians for contract discussions!"

"Damn I wish I was also selected ugh!!!!"

"Were they all game design courses?"

"Nah, most of them were from the music department."

"But there were still some game design courses right? I can't wait for him to visit our school!"

The students who were thinking of switching courses for fear of not having a job when they graduate started to reassess if they had a future in their courses. Because of the sudden boom in hiring, they were starting to get hopeful once more.

With this whole buzz and jobs being created, the japanese economy's movements weren't unnoticed by US companies. A lot of people started wondering what the hell Wayne was doing but at the same time, they started getting ready. If this became a big market, they wanted a piece of it. So shortly after, several companies started paying attention to what was happening and if this would indeed become a good venture or not.

In this world, while anime and manga still exist, it wasn't as developed so the games made based on them or even had the same themes, were quite lacking. So when Wayne Enterprises started their movements, Squaresoft employees were quite excited. Not only for simply getting to make new games, but making new ones never seen before in that world.

A lot of the games in that world were mostly short games, or ones that could be played casually with no time investment needed. Hence arcade style games bloomed. Fighting games were the top of the game charts. Games that can be played while on the go were the ones that sold a lot. Their gaming industry didn't develop that much simply because of the dangers already existing in the world, and its only going to get weirder and weirder.

At the moment, most of the crime that happens were still rather human or gang and drug related. But even so, with how often crime happens everywhere here, entertainment was simply left behind in the minds of the people.

But as soon as the Buzz around Squaresoft developing a high budget game, a lot of people started looking forward to it as well. There's no trailer yet, no ads or posters. Yet the game is already spreading around in rumors.

"Hey so what do you think this new game is gonna be?"

"Think it's a shooter game?"

"Could be fighting game for all we know!"

"Nah mate, I think it's a rhythm game. Otherwise why would they hire musicians?"

"Hey fighting games got music too dumbass!"

"But seriously, think it's gonna be good? I mean, it has to be right? Squaresoft being bought by Wayne Enterprises has to be big budgeted!"

"Theoretically yeah that's a huge possibility! Unlike most gaming companies, I heard Wayne is rich AF!"

"Damn I wish I was that rich!!"

"Same!!"

"Same x2!"

"Same x3!!!"

"Here's a random thought! What if the billionaire just wanted a game made for him alone? I mean what do rich people do with their money?"

"F*ck you! Don't jinx it!!!!"

"Yeah screw you man! But seriously, I fckin hope not!!!!"

After setting up a few more teams and getting new office spaces for Squaresoft, Ven had the new hires start shadowing veterans and learn the ropes. He also had the music students form an entire section for game music and background ambience. Ven also got in touch with several popular composers in his world to check if they had the same talent here in this one and hired some of them as a result.

Squaresoft now also had complete orchestras under salary by Ven.

All the pieces are starting to fit into place and the game was being developed quite nicely.

After sorting out all the immediate issues, Ven went back to the states for the time being. He started looking around into America based game companies as well as recording studios he can hire for localization. He hired several staff and rented office space in LA for his operations when he was sorting out auditions for his voice actors. But after the most hectic times, once everything stabilized, he went back to Gotham and did the remaining work via conference calls.

When Ven had free time, he would continue working on the other game he wanted reproduced but also created several folders and files for other projects. While he had long term goals, his reproduction of some games was mainly a test run. He wanted to make sure all the pieces were there first before going further.

Also since toyman was not under him, he could, later on, move even further than his initial plans. At first he was happy with just reproducing stuff from his world but now, with him, he knew the future was going to be more fun.

---

Meanwhile the batman remains to be an urban legend and Ven knows it's going to be a while for things to escalate that would give the joker his debut.

After looking into recent events in Smallville, He spots an ad in the school website that they were selling school rings that held a red 'ruby'. Ven knew these were in fact red Kryptonite. So he started to think of a plan to make his first appearance and introduce himself to Clark. Though he never planned to say much. A simple introduction, get him to stop wearing the ring, explain consequences then vanish. It was his plan to add a little mystery first so he makes an impression.

Ven was reminded of Ra's 'theatricality and deception are powerful agents'.

This was going to be his first official introduction with the last son of Krypton.
