17 The Return

"That… was definitely not a dream."

Rohann said to Zorenn. The latter nodded in agreement after seeing Rohann be as confused as him.

They both dreamed of the same dream at the same time. It was no coincidence.

"So… who are you?"

Zorenn asked Rohann in anticipation. He prayed in his heart that his twin brother felt the same as him.

"Me? I'm just… me. You?"

Rohann simply said to Zorenn. It was enough for Zorenn to know how Rohann felt about the whole thing.

"Same. It's like… I just read a story book in first person. No, more like I lived as the main character of that story. I know that the Supreme Sorciere is me, but… I'm just Zorenn Lupica."

Zorenn answered Rohann. Despite living through and recovering the memory of the Supreme Sorciere, he still felt like him.

Although, the awakened memories are really useful. Zorenn wanted to try testing out if the magical knowledge of the Supreme Sorciere can still be applied to this world they live in.

Before Zorenn could do anything, Rohann jumped down from his bed and sat on Zorenn's bed.

Rohann's red eyes were glowing, further showing his excitement.

"I was really cool! You should have seen me fight those monsters! I was so strong!"

Rohann excitedly shared with Zorenn.

Zorenn could only shake his head as he grinned at his twin brother's retained childishness even after living through the whole lifetime of their past lives.

"I know, Hann! I was there too, you know?!"

Rohann blanked out for a moment before gasping. A teasing smirk soon formed on his face.

"Hehe! You were a girl there, Renn~"

Hearing his twin brother's teasing, Zorenn pouted a little and bumped his fist on Rohann's shoulder.

"I'm a boy! You better not make my past life a subject for bullying me."

Rohann laughed a little and patted Zorenn's shoulder.

"No worries, Renn. I was just kidding!"

Rohann reassured Zorenn before shifting his position to sit beside his twin brother.

"But still… we were amazing back then."

Rohann said as he looked up at the ceiling like he was reminiscing something.

Zorenn understood his twin brother's sentiment. The both of them were legendary individuals in their past lives.

Can they be the same in this life?

"Yeah. We really were amazing."

Zorenn agreed with Rohann before raising a hand in front of him.

Rohann turned his gaze to the side to look at his twin brother. Zorenn was staring intently at his hand as if trying to see something that wasn't there.

"What are you doing?"

Rohann asked his twin brother while staring at the hand Zorenn raised as well. His eyes squinted, trying to see what Zorenn was doing.

"Shush. I can feel it…"

Zorenn said to Rohann. His attention was fully focused on what he was trying to do.

A few moments later, Zorenn's hand glowed in a white light.

Rohann was amazed at what Zorenn did, so he asked him how he did it.

"That's amazing! Is that… magic?"

Zorenn turned to Rohann to answer his question.

"No. This is just me manifesting mana to my hand. In your past life, your body made you incapable of bringing mana outside your body. This made you stronger than normal people."

"How? You never fully explained it to me."

"Well, all people actually have a certain amount of mana they were born with. The amount of mana they have will dictate their growth in different aspects. Only some are born with sufficient mana to become wizards."

Rohann listened attentively to Zorenn's explanation. Zorenn was amazed by how much Rohann was listening. It was as if he desired to be a wizard as well.

"In your past life, you were actually born with enough mana to become a wizard."

"Hmm. Too bad I wasn't blessed with a body of one."

Rohann remembered one moment in his past life. Zorenn already told him why he can't manifest mana like she did.

"Yes. However, this wasn't totally a loss for you. Your mana that should have been used to create magic was pooled inside your body, nourishing it to a degree incomparable to any human being."

"Really?... Well, why didn't your body become as strong as me then?"

Rohann asked Zorenn. The latter was surprised at Rohann's line of questioning.

It was true. Since Rohann had the mana to become a wizard and made use of it to make his body stronger, why couldn't Zorenn do it?

"I tried, Hann. But your body was just… weird. It completely closed off your arcane pores. Not a single drop of mana could've gone out of your body. I tried replicating your body by controlling my mana to stay under my skin, but whatever physical improvement I got was only temporary."

"How so?"

"Whenever I use mana for my magic, the physical improvement I got from circulating mana inside my body just… reduced. Until my body goes back to the way it was before."

"Huh. So that means only people with similar bodies to mine can come close to what I achieved."

Rohann realized a fact. Zorenn agreed with what his twin brother said. That's what made the Grand Master special.

A genius in battle. The only man who has complete mastery over all kinds of weapons. His whole body was saturated in a large pool of his own mana, making him smarter and stronger by leaps and bounds as he grew up.

"Yeah. Many have tried. You inspired generations to follow your path, you know? The progenitor of Magic Swordsmen."

Rohann and Zorenn smirked as they remembered the details of their past lives. All their glory, all their power, all their achievements.

"You think we can do the same in this world?"

Rohann asked Zorenn, wanting to make sure that he's not the only one dreaming of becoming as legendary as their past lives.

"Of course, Hann. I mean, just look."

Zorenn raised his hand for Rohann to focus on. Zorenn's hand was still glowing white.

Seeing that Rohann put his attention on him, Zorenn spread the white glow from his hand.

Soon, Zorenn's entire body was glowing white.

"You feel… powerful."

Rohann said, amazed at Zorenn's display. Seeing the wonder of magic with your own eyes is better than remembering it from your past life.

"I'm sure you can do this too, Hann."

Seeing how mesmerized Rohann was at mana and the potential for magic, Zorenn threw his twin brother an olive branch.

"Really?"

"Yeah! Don't you remember? Project Phoenix!"

Rohann's eyes glowed in understanding.

"Oh! Right! Teach me, Renn! Please!"

Rohann almost begged his twin brother to teach him. Zorenn chuckled and started instructing him on how to rouse and awaken his dormant mana.

"First, relax. You need to be at peace for you to feel and bring your mana out of its vessel… if we were normal. But Project Phoenix made sure that our whole body is made of mana. This will make it easier for you to sense it."

Rohann listened to Zorenn's instructions and closed his eyes.

"Now, don't be frustrated if you can't sense it yet. Even I took a whole month to sen–"

Zorenn's words got stuck in his throat when he saw what his twin brother was doing beside him.

Rohann's eyes were closed and his face frowned in concentration. A white glow covered his body.

Mana poured out from Rohann like a candle burning brightly. Wisps of white energy were dissipating upwards, making Rohann look like a wick burning in white flame.

"Hann, stop! You're gonna kill yourself if you don't!"

Zorenn slightly panicked when he saw how potent Rohann's mana was.

'I forgot! He has zero mana control! How could I be so stupid! Oh… wait. I can just control his mana. Ehe~!''

Rohann opened his eyes and saw what was happening to him.

"Quick, how do I stop this!"

Zorenn calmed himself down and explained how to control mana to Rohann.

"Imagine flowing water. Make your mana take the form of flowing water, or blood running through your veins. Whichever you want. Make it flow around your body first, and guide it inwards. Make mana flow in your veins along with your blood."

Rohann closed his eyes again and pictured what Zorenn told him.

Zorenn watched as Rohann tried to control his mana. A few seconds was all he apparently needed as Rohann's mana was already flowing around his body.

The mana flowing around Rohann gradually thinned as he brought it inside his body. Rohann pictured an image of digging a canal in the soil to guide a body of water to flow as one with another river.

Zorenn watched as all the potent mana of Rohann calmed down and returned inside his body.

Rohann then opened his eyes that were glowing red. A moment later, the glow stopped as he completely returned all his mana in his veins.

"...How? How did you do it all so easily? Normal children take around a year to even sense mana."

Zorenn asked Rohann, evidently amazed at his twin brother's latent potential and talent in controlling mana.

"Hehe! I'm the Grand Master! The greatest warrior in the world! I take pride in my immense self-control and mastery over my own body."

Rohann huffed in pride as he jutted his chest out to boast.

"Tch. You wouldn't have done it without me, though! When it comes to all forms of magic, the Supreme Sorciere rules above all!"

Zorenn huffed in pride as he jutted his chest out to boast.

A moment later, the twins burst out laughing. In this manner, the Grand Master and the Supreme Sorciere that soared incredible heights in another world have returned.
