Chapter 21

Last night became blurred because Jamie didn't expect Kun to fetch him. He can feel the coolness inside the car on their journey to the hotel. Kun and Gino disappeared after Jamie went out of the elevator. 

Today is another deal, morning comes and Gino knocks on his door again reminding him to get ready. Kun is out of sight, Jamie took only a shower this time and ready his semi-formal wear. He eats a light breakfast and finds Gino at the entry of the hotel where the same employees are gawking over him. He wears a new colored suit and they hit the road. 

Gino takes Jamie to the club. Unlike the noisy and colorful night. The club in the morning is dull and looks like an ordinary establishment. 

Hanako looks pale, gone from the sheen of last night. She looks pale while Kun is busy reading the paperwork. 

"I'm not accepting underage girls to dance in this club Kun. But I also never sell them to those bastards!" Her eyes linger on the heir while still picking her fingers anxiously. 

"Refused the Virgo gang. I don't want them making trouble in my club. I let those girls stay but they need to be useful just don't let them entertain customers. The guards will be fired for taking bribes. I will deal with them. Also, the club will be handling medical expenses and compensation for those girls who suffered." Kun sighed and glanced at Jamie who only busies himself with drinking whatever the server gives him. He's glad it's not alcoholic. 

"Jamie, I'll meet another set of people you can stay here with Hanako to help her arrange my orders. Would you do it?" Kun's eyes dwell on Jamie's face. Studying his reaction but Jamie thought it would be okay to be useful once and for all.

"Fine. But I don't want to deal with weird people. I'm not good at fighting!" Jamie scoffs but accepts his brother's order regardless. 

"Coming from someone who causes a fight from his university." Kun sighed, shaking his head. 

"Excuse me? Those are bullies!" Jamie's voice was heavy while his eyes were dark. 

"So I've heard." He said dismissing the topic. 

"I'll be going." Kun only stared at Hanako who didn't speak anymore while Jamie shoo him to the door. 

Hanako stays in a daze while Jamie only looks at her. She lets out an exasperated exhale before leveling Jamie's gaze when she speaks.

"I was once the bitch of this club, I was sixteen then. The original manager likes me so much for himself that he abused me." 

Jamie doesn't understand why she was opening up to Jamie but he listens. He knew she needed this if ever he wanted Jamie to help. 

"It was the hardest moment of my life. I was living on the streets because my parents were shits who never really take care of their child. I meet bad people but I never do anything aside from hanging with the wrong crowd. One time, my so-called friends told me they will try clubbing, and despite my fear, I agree. Never thought I was walking to a hellhole. They paid me to be a bitch and the rest is history. I meet Kun and he saves me. Unbelievable right? But that shit manager has been stealing from Dragon. Kun shot him on the spot. I thought I was next but I was smart, Kun sees that. He offered me a job. I accepted because it's better than being a bitch or coming back to life on the street." 

Hanako's eyes drop while still anxiously biting her lips. 

"When you help those girls, can you be gentle? Please? They have been a lot and they won't trust you... Thank you and I-I will be in your care." She bowed formally to Jamie. He stared at the girl who was on the bridge of tears but her eyes were still fierce. 

"I understand." 

The club is still closed so they went to the hospital. There are rooms with three girls confined. Jamie watches their unsteady gaze and body tension. 

"This is Kim-san's brother, Jamie-san. He came here to help." Hanako mumbled with affection in her eyes. 

"I am not part of the dragon. I came here because of my brother's order." Jamie said in Japanese, earning a gasp from Hanako. 

"You speak Japanese..." She said bewildered. 

Jamie only hummed. 

They came back to the club to arrange some papers. Jamie took in checking their accounts. The club earnings and expenses. He feels being scammed by his brother! Even though he likes his job here organizing. Hanako is indeed smart. She has details of everything so it was easy for Jamie to categorize things. 

"So, you never accept drug dealing here?" Jamie asked the girl who was busy with her laptop. 

"Yes. I told Kun that the club's earnings are enough. We have certifications legally too. Kun only brings clients here to deal with business meetings. He said this place has good ventilation." Hanako shrugged her shoulders. She knows once the drug comes here, people will be in danger. 

"You're good though. You manage the club despite crazy assholes harassing your people. The club is also earning just fine for the past years. Any concerns regarding employees? Jamie inquires again, eyes not living from the computer. 

" The dorm... I know it sounded absurd but the girls here have no dorms. We only settled them into one storage room that now is their place to sleep. Some of the girls don't have a place to stay. Many of them are also commuting to work." 

"This place has the third floor, right? What are they for?" Jamie asked, seeing the blueprint of the building. Aside from the boss's office on the last floor, the Third floor has been vacant for a while now. 

"It was off limits because Kun dislikes people hovering there," Hanako muttered plainly. 

"Okay, how about the 2nd floor?" Jamie asked even though he already knows the answer. 

"We have VIP rooms on the second floor but many of the rooms aren't being used. After the harassment of my girls, I forbid them to accept any VIPs not until things are already settled." Hanako flips her laptop and focuses on talking with Jamie. 

"But the club has three VIP rooms on the 1st floor. Isn't it enough?" Hanako drops her eyes, confidence breaking. 

"I... I actually think of getting rid of it but... I haven't mentioned this to Kun yet." 

"I understand. We got the problem solved then." Jamie for the first time flashes his smile. Hanako looks at him in awe. 

"Okay."
