17 Chapter 17

Chapter 17

If Jamie wants to wish right now, maybe he thought of reincarnation in a book that had a plot or known storyline so he won't be problematic if the actions he would do in the future will give him pain.

Jamie is in a bad mood when he comes home but being called by his mother isn't in the plan. He still has bruises on his face and cuts that hurt him like a bitch.

The female guard looks stern at his beaten look. Still, she bows and then takes him to her mother's room.

Unlike Jamie's previous room, her mother's chamber is a lot more extravagant and luxurious. Jamie rolled his eyes at how his mother is spending her life like a queen while her son is living in (quarters). He didn't blame him for a lack of care instead his narcissistic side can't let go of the neglect.

"Hi, darling." Yoon Lira is the epitome of glamor, her dress is white, and wearing very expensive jewelry. She looks regal, and acting upon that makes Jamie quiver a little. The intimidating aura made him bite the inside of his cheek. He stares at her. Big doe eyes waiting for her to speak.

"Yes, mother?" Jamie sees his mom walk to him. A cold expression scrubs all over her face. It was quick, not even Jamie saw it coming.

'spak'

Jamie's eyes narrowed after being slapped by her mother. The heat in his cheek traveled swiftly as his head turned.

Another slap.

"Why did you do it? Why are you always... always caused trouble?!" She said in a stern voice, icy eyes staring at him with disgust.

"W-What?" Jamie managed to whisper.

"Why are you being a disappointment?! Your father is being kind to you! Why do you need to cause trouble? You've been living a quiet life before! I heard from the school director what you did to those students! Your brother is arranging a meeting with the student's parents you send to the hospital. I was shocked you're capable of doing that!" She manages to say while frowning at Jamie, her perfect brows were in deep frowns as she looked at him with coldness.

"Have you heard the whole story?" He asked her with clenched teeth.

"They said it was bullying." She retorted.

"They're bullying me. I acted to protect myself." Jamie tried to reason out.

"You're too young to engage in that kind of barbaric act. You should be studying art! Your marks are already failing. I cannot, with you. You're like your weak father." She murmurs the last words with the most disdain. And Jamie feels like he was slapped again.

"If you know the full story, you must realize they outnumbered me and have been bullying me since. I cannot stay still while they degrade me like that." Jamie ignored the sting on his chest. Ignore the indication of mocking she just did on her son having a different father. It almost suffocated him.

"Your brother is already fixing it for you. You must thank him and hope your father won't be disappointed again. I hate it enough that you're not his biological son. He being nice to you is a miracle enough." She shook her head and sigh, she closed her arms around her chest and took a seat on a couch eyeing him like a parasite, small and pathetic.

"Try to be good. You're dismissed." She said in a dismissed tone.

Jamie clenched his knuckles and quickly sprinted to the door. He ignores the female guard who was bowing when he left.

His eyes were fierce with anger, and Jamie went to his room almost running. He seats on the couch balancing his breathing. He was mad, ashamed, and hurt.

The last words leave a very bitter taste in his mouth. He doesn't like to admit it. Not wanting to voice out his inner thoughts about how much he was hurt by the person as his mother.

Lee Gongyun's mother is a very kind woman. She was warm, kind, and cared for him the most. She was the kind of person who protects you from nightmares and cooked for you when you were sick. She is the kind of woman who loves all her heart and makes sure to treasure your well-being more than her own.

'fuck'

Jamie's eyes string with tears. The pain of missing her mother and pity for the little boy damaged his internal emotional space. It was like being stripped naked as he sobs pathetically in his room. He was the type of person to shield his expression and emotions. He never really cried before, always thinks positively in life, and knows that his family will always get his back.

This situation is his reality check. He is on his own now. No mother who loves him, no sister who cares for him and gives him advice, and no friends that will protect him from bad people.

Jamie is on his own. The reality is like cold water shivering him. In every depth of his skin is screaming of sleet. He was like being taught how the real world works after graduating from hell university. How did he act carelessly underestimating everything in this new life?

It reminded him of how Jamie originally lived in hell. Nothing cares for him but himself. No one to protect other than himself. He was lost for a moment.

Gongyun must be mocking him for being overly confident to reach the top while forgetting he was only in the mud, not even stepping on the concrete. It was infuriating, an insult to a great legend like himself.

Tears were dry and Jamie felt his body heavily. He realizes how weak he was. How much his left cheek is stingy and bruised.

He closes his eyes and falls sleepy on the couch.

Chest clenching from the pain, missing home, and imagining he was with his cat Dabi.

He slumped in a lotus position. He let himself be vulnerable. The last time he promised, the only time he will remember the warmth of his mother's embrace is when he feels upset.

He wanted to go home.

he whispered in his sleep.
