Chapter 18 The awakening of the human

When I woke up, I felt every part of my body ache, as if I had been beaten again at Mr. Reinof's bar for not paying the bill, my eyelids refused to open, as if they had a will of their own, and screamed that I needed to rest, and that's what I did.

When I woke up after the break, the first thing that came to my mind was, "Where was I?". That very question made me remember what had happened before I woke up.

I had taken the mission like other adventurers who were on the ship, when I had woken up, I had expected to find in the guild some normal mission, like killing a beast from a nearby town, hunting a criminal, or a simpler mission, finding plants for the mages or cleaning the streets of the Kingdom. But the normal mission I was expecting, did not come, what I found was a special mission, one with which I hoped to rise in rank apart from the good payment of 10 gold coins, which was already a lot in my eyes and in the eyes of the other citizens.

The mission said about a shipment to new lands, the colonization or discovery of lands without a kingdom already occupied it or without intelligent life, although it was relatively new, the other kingdoms had already launched small reconnaissance ships, but the kingdom of Rebinia did not. They or rather the king, sent the mission of reconnaissance and colonization to the guild, in that mission, I and 10 other people that I do not bother to remember, we went for the good reward and perhaps that in the history of those lands that we thought we could conquer, would be noted in the books as the brave ones who went out to the open sea for better opportunities for the kingdom.

But what we found, were not the promised lands, no, they were sea monsters, taken from the nightmares of a navigator, giant crabs appeared, octopuses of abysmal size labeled as possible class S, and above all, the sea, giant waves of several meters that were under our feet and in sight, the sea had taken the course of the ship, the sea was the navigator of our lives, but the worst was when a dwarf shouted something in his language, possibly because of stress and fear, I did not pay much attention to that detail, but what we had seen next, was simply the most wonderful and the most terrifying thing I have ever seen in my life.

A wave of enormous size, possibly hundreds of meters. When I was just reacting, the wave was already over us, we crashed right into it, what follows are vague memories that come to my mind, as, being completely surrounded by the blue sea and the black that surrounds it, the sand and the warm embrace of the sun, the sensation of being moved, but unable to do anything, voices of an unknown language, blurred silhouettes, and the most recent, the awakening and the pain of my body, making me go back to sleep, to wake up again, but this time already better, and without the unbearable pain of my body.

When the human woke up he was confused, he was not in what he thought would be sand and warm sunshine, no, what greeted him after waking up was a room, the room was made of smooth stone and the floor was composed of white marble, with wooden furniture, simple but beautiful, He was lying on a very comfortable bed, said by the same one he was lying on it, there was a window that overlooked the outside of the house, he peeked out, and what he saw made him surprised and scared at the same time, what he had seen were the elves that were outside the house, preventing him from leaving. What the human was thinking right now, was not that he was in a house, no..., it was that he was the first man or human, to see this new race, still undiscovered by the other races that are, the humans, the Dwarves, the semi-humans and their different branches, or the most recent race, the beastmen.

Although he had already seen more races, apart from humans, they looked like humans, but they had long ears, and the feeling that emanated from them, made his hair stand on end, he was the first human who had discovered a new race, just thinking about what would happen if that information was available to the guild master, made his mouth water, he would be promoted immediately!

But that thought vanished when he heard the door open. With a speed faster than a normal human, he ran back to the bed, and when the elf who was opening the door came in, he was already lying back on the bed, with the covers over him, with no sign of having been anywhere else before the elf came in. Although the human didn't know, the elf had given his run but said nothing about it, having other things on his mind.

The elf who entered the room was Luthais, he had just sent an owl with a letter to the kingdom of Vunwae where the king lives, to say about having found the human. When he had already sent the letter he decided to go back to check on the human, but as he was about to enter, fast footsteps were heard, as if it was a race, but when he entered and saw the human awake, he discarded any previous thoughts to focus on the awakened guest. The human and elf stared at each other for a while and it seemed like a staring contest, until the elf broke the silence and at the same time the contest.

"Hello stranger" said Luthais in his language, to which the human replied "what?" at such an answer the elf became confused and the elf unconsciously said " what?" moving his head a little to one side imitating the human, who upon hearing his answer became even more confused.

Hi, I hope you are well, this is the chapter of the week, but I hope to release another chapter on Friday (my city time).
