CHAPTER 3: breakfast with father

taking a bubble bath and bathing in warm water is so relaxing and made me realize that I don't want to die or be decapitated. I know there is a lot of saying that beheading is the most painless death of all. Still, a study shows that there is 10-second consciousness of the decapitated head, which means that I have 10 seconds to feel the pain. Also, I don't want to die yet when I'm having this luxurious life, which is way better than being a pharmaceutical scientist. no deadlines, no screaming, no pressure. you just wear a dress and say your speech---

"my lady your dress is already prepared, are you done bathing?" the train of thought was interrupted by ellie

"yes, jaya could you lend me a towel"

"towel?" said in a confused face

huh, what do they call towel in this era?, isn't wiping clothes? water-absorbing clothes? maybe I just let her do her thing

"never mind, just do what you needed to"

"Never mind?" damnnn this old century folks really getting on my nerve sometimes. oh well it's time to get ready and try to get some answer from this marriage stuff

as miss ellie guided me towards the dining hall which our breakfast is being held, I couldn't help but admire how pretty I am. The dress I am wearing is really like the Bridgeton or the Tudor or any royal stuff dress, and it's in baby blue color. and physique of this body is like an hour glass not to mention the tight corset that I was force to. but this body was my dream goal back in my old life. valerian is really pretty than what they describe on the book, she looks like a doll, those plump lips shapes like a brat doll and a wavy white hair that looks like you just got out of a salon. her eyes is really pretty they resemble like the ocean, blue and dark. she also got a v shape face and a small nose also a pale skin, she could actually become a kpop idol. 

"valerian, there you are. the food is getting cold so hurry up and join us" said by father. he is pretty handsome for an old guy, he have full greyish hair in a slick back style and have a blue eye, he is wearing some sort of royal military uniform with a lot of medals, he is also pretty masculine.

the dining room is so huge, it have so many window and arches, just like a church, and they have this long table that can sit up to 20 people with a lot of ornaments placed on the table. sitting on the farthest chair only is my supposed to be the father and sitting beside him is vera and two guy, that I don't know. 

"hello father, I apologize for my tardiness" said in a graceful tone

"just eat already, father made us wait for you before we ever get the next bite" said in annoyed tone by another guy with grayish black with a blue eyes, wearing in a royal military uniform

hmm.... is this my second brother?. I know from the story that valerian have 3 brother, Basil is the oldest, then Valerian second, after that is vera, lastly, balm is the youngest. I wonder which is he?

"so how are you doing balm?" I said it in a happy face, trying to figure out which is he

"well, sis thank you for asking. I have so many plans for your wedding. we can do this and this. and you should wear this too, the food should be---.... mutter, mutter, mutter" said by a the other guy with black hair and yellow eye wearing some high society clothing. he kind of a chatter box. I just put up with a smiling face but behind it all. I'm just hiding my annoyance, I guess he is balm

"would you shut it, we are trying to eat here" said by the guy in grayish black hair with blue eyes, I guess he is basil then.

From what I remember of the story, balm is a good brother but not an ally, he tried to keep his reputation and name stable and he is willing to put me in danger to save his name, In the last chapter he renounce his connection with me stating "I am not her brother". which ultimately saving his ass. 

then there is Basil, he isn't an ally nor a brother, in fact he slap Valerian in the face on chapter 38 for trying to embarrass lyca in front of the crowds. I think basil does have feeling for lyca because he was trying to protect her from me, but that isn't confirm yet by the author so let just label him a douchebag.

then there is my father, his name is Duke Edward Camomile, what I remember from the book is that valerian father died in the war between the benzene empire and the mycin empire which started by the king. there isn't much information about him in the book

and we are known as the Camomile noble family of the Benzene Empire. serving them with military power and prosperity to the land by providing gemstones and goldmines. 

since I now know who they are, and what our standing is. it is time to know the truth

"father, I do not wish to marry the king" I said

vera choke on his food and said "are you mad?, There is no way you are backing this now" in angry tone pointing at me

"now, now, vera. I am sure that there is a reason for this request valerian" said by the father in calming tone

"did you fall out of love" said by basil in a mildly angry tone

then I said "I do not love him, nor do I love the man that is not in my choice" 

"valerian, are you out of your mind? you're the one who requests the presence of the king!... you're the one who stormed in the castle waiting for him to see you!.... I have told you many times to not get involved with him.....but you did!, and now you want to withdraw the marriage proposal, which it was you're idea" said by vera in a standing position with his hands on the table pointing at Valerian

what???, it was valerian idea, was she in love with that psycho?

"mind your manners vera, there shall be no one shouting at the table" said by father in an angry tone, *sigh* he then look at me and said "valerian, it is not up to us to withdraw the marriage, not only that but this man is not someone you can withdraw easily, he is very capable of so many things. I hope you understand my dear" 

"I understand father, I am sorry to ask you of this things" I said in sad tone

"you should have thought about that before you decided to become the 8th wife," said by basil with a chuckle of laughter

"yeah sis, haven't you thought about what happened to his previous marriage?, I mean, if you look it up on the marriage record, I'm sure you will understand why we were so concerned about this idea you have placed," said balm

"Haven't you ever wondered why the king was unmarried for 2 years before you came along?" said basil 

the more that I try to get the truth out, the more it becomes mysterious to me. why did valerian choose this, was she stupid? or does she want power?. one thing I need to get it right is to stop this marriage, since it is not a force marriage, which means I have the power to end this, now I just need to talk to the king.
