1 CHAPTER 1: drunk and sober

[mica pov]

"Aim for the top," said by my father, who had great expectations for us. We have no idea what the word means, given that I was only five years old when he uttered it. However, now that I am of age, my life should begin once I finish from college with a 4.0 GPA, I can finally make a breakthrough.

and yet I am trapped at a pharmaceutical firm where we never make a breakthrough, not to mention that the company I work for has become embroiled in controversy when published research found that our specialized cosmetic drugs include carcinogen substances such as asbestos, which may cause ovarian cancer if used frequently.

I didn't even know that we have that kind of product and yet here I am drinking in a rooftop in this crappy apartment. I bet no company will ever take me. I bet father is disappointed at me, I have never seen him happy for me. not even those achievements or at least smile for me, he always give me that blank stare. he never look the same way with my 3 brother.

life really hit hard, if only I was given a chance to prove myself or even invest a little to my research, just maybe I can save myself. but who am I kidding, all those hard work just go in the trash HAHAHAHA 

[narrate]

mica drunk and sober stepped foot at the edge of the building to threw a bottle as far as she could and ended up tripping herself and falling to her death in an 8th-floor apartment. head first at the concrete street which she was pronounced dead at the scene

she hear the sound of birds and calming wind whisper through the window, as she then opens her eyes to find that she isn't at her apartment but in someone bed, not just a bed but a really beautiful room that is fit for a royal family.

[mica POV]

"what the?... where am I?, how the hell did a get here?, was I too drunk that I slept with someone?"

"no..... I don't think so, I knew I was at the apartment".

"did someone grab me"

a maid burst in through the door, she was mid-twenties and had brown eyes and hair with a petite figure and wearing a typical maid outfit.

"my lady you are awake" said by the maid

"umm.... excuse me, could you tell me how the heck did I get here?" said by mica

"well my lady you fell asleep, we were very busy yesterday preparing for the wedding"

"what wedding?"

"your wedding"

"WHAAAT" *shouted by mica

"your wedding with King Harold the Third"

'king Harold the third, is he part of the English monarch, or maybe the Belgium? who the fuck is king Harold? how did this happen?' then I said "from what country is King Harold"

"he is the ruler of the great benzene empire and fought many wars to expand the empire, not only that he was able to defeat our great enemy the chemo empire" in a passionate speech

"huh?....benzene?... chemo?... empire? Aren't those drugs?" said in a confused tone

"aren't you listening to my lady, we have to hurry your father is waiting for you to have breakfast with him."

"Father wants to have breakfast with me?, but he never like me in the first place, he though of me as a burden"

"my lady, are you alright?, you always eat together with your father," said by the main in a concernedKing tone

now that I think of it, king Harold, Benzene Empire. I now know where I am, this is from a historical fantasy novel I used to enjoy back in my teenage years. which was recommended by my friend to keep me at ease, it was such a great book because it was romantic and according to the author, he based this book on a popular historical figure which is based on king Henry VIII wives. not only that but the author was a registered pharmacist, and he inspired me to become one. it was such a good book, but eventually father found out and burn the book right in front of me, because it was a distraction to my studies. 

there is one more thing I need to confirm if this is from that fantasy book,

"one last question miss....."

"oh you can call me ellie" said by the maid in playful tone

"um miss ellie, what is my name?"

"huh?... you forgot your name?, well it is Lady Valerian and soon to-be queen valerian"

*shock

"my lady is everything alright?"

queen valerian, that's the name of the villain. which means I will have a terrible ending soon. As I remember King Harold the Third was a terrible king who is married to his 8th wife or known as "controlling queen" that ruled the benzene empire, the benzene empire wasn't a really good empire, it was devastated by many plagues and calamities as this was a reference in real historical event. then suddenly the king fell in love with the queen lady in waiting lyca who have a charming personality that soothe the king feeling.

after the queen discover their love affair, the queen tried to take matter into her own hand by trying to poison lyca but the plan failed as one of the queen lady in waiting also betrayed her by telling the king of her plans. then the queen fate was sealed as she was decapitated and soon after lyca become the 9th queen

which means I will end up dead soon [blurring vision]

"my lady are you okay?" [blurring voice]

*fainted in bed

"my ladyyyy"
