18 Birth of Athena

"Why did I accept that drink? Thinking about it now, it's not like me at all", I wonder in my head before sighing and looking at the ten people surrounding me at the large round table.

At the at the round table, there is Delphin, Hecate, Amphitrite, Oceanus, Alexios, Hypatia, Hades, and my other advisors and executives.

"What's the situation?", Delphin asks me seriously.

"I cursed the Olympians after Aphrodite tried to r*pe me", I continue,"and we now officially have nothing to do with Olympus."

They all say suck in a deep breath before calming down.

"It's fine, our kingdom is a lot more powerful than theirs. There is nothing they can do to harm us", Alexios says confidently.

Alexios serves as one of the generals of the Atlantian core—a section of our military.

Our force contain the sea monster battalion —the lowest level of out military, disposable low level sea monsters without true intelligence.

Then the Atlantian core— made up of merfolk, nymphs, and other water spirits.

And finally, the ancient sea behemoths. They are dangerous and extremely powerful sea monsters that I had to forcefully subjugate myself, such as the Kraken, Leviathan, Schylla, and Charybdis.

"Though, the Olympians will most likely declare war on us soon", Seraphina, the representative of the nymphs replies.

"No, after the show of power that I gave them, they should be careful before truly starting anything," I respond.

Although Zeus can be stupid sometimes, I do respect his abilities as a strategist. He wouldn't dare attack yet.

After all, he was the one who came up with the plan to attack Mount Orthys from the next mountain over.

"If they really do try something, Poseidon and I can just go and wipe them out", Hades says boredly.

"Hades, have you done anything to Persephone yet?", I question him.

"No, I love her! I wouldn't force her to do anything she doesn't want too!", Hades hurriedly says.

"She hasn't eaten anything from the Underworld, has she?", I continue questioning.

"No", Hades responds.

"Then you should return her to her mother! You can't just kidnap someone", I tell him.

"Poseidon, my brother, it is true love! I can assure you that she loves me back", Hades says seriously.

"Can you deal with your family drama later, we still need to continue the meeting", Amphitrite cuts in.

"Yes, let's continue", I respond.

"Hecate, have you finally found the location of the Morai?", I ask.

"Yes", Hecate says with a twinkle in her eye.

(Third Person)

"Zeus, when shall we attack?", Hera asks Zeus with a dry and scratchy tone of voice as she lays on the gold and white bed with Zeus by her side.

Though gods do not need water to live, the curse Poseidon had laid upon them also forced them to have an unbearable thirst that can only be quenched by water.

Though this would not kill them, the thirst would be eternal, no other liquids could quench it, even the nectar of the gods.

"We must bare with it until all the pieces of my strategy fall into place", Zeus says just a dry-throated as Hera, but with more confidence and ease.

"The Minds Eye will be completed in six months, then we can begin", Zeus says.

"What is it?", Hera questions hopefully.

...

(Third Person- The Change)

It was at this time her mind had started slipping.

After Rhea had handed her first born child to Kronos for him to devour, her divinity had fractured.

What she had done had gone against the very laws of her being.

The once tiny crack only grew and grew as time went on and she gave up more and more children to the beast of a husband she had.

She wanted to stop, she wanted to not have anymore children, though not only her fear of Kronos, but also her divinity pushed her to have more.

Each child that got devoured left her with a heart wrenching hole that could only be filled once she has another child.

By the time she had her fifth child, her mind had broken.

But her divinity would not let her have rest.

In the presence of her children, or anything that had to do with them, her divinity would forcefully pick up the pieces of her mind and force them together. Giving her the image of a mentally sane and kind mother.

Though scars run deep.

In the presence of anything even resembling Kronos, an intense hatred rises from her psyche like a demon in the night— a rage so extreme that it could fight against her divinity, and fight it does.

In the presence of her fifth child, Poseidon, the child of hers that looks almost exactly like the man who broke her—this anger, this rage, appears.

Though, her divinity recognizes him as her son, thus refusing any hatred or bitter thoughts towards him.

Her mind goes through a constant battle between love and hate.

That one day though, due to the nectar reducing her to drunkenness—reducing the mental inhibitors place by her divinity, the anger could truly slip through.

Though all this anger did was increase the power of the divinity against the hatred due to act of verbally harming her child, allowing sanity to once again return, although it was too late.

.....

Hestia had always liked her brother Poseidon a lot.

Back in Kronos's stomach he had always talked to her and spent so much time with her.

Though once they left Olympus things changed.

She started getting splitting headaches, but never told any due to not wanting to worry them over something that most likely wasn't a big deal.

After all, what could harm her? She is a god after all.

Though, what was happening was not physical harm, but a mental change.

Her divinity of Family was resonating with her mother's divinity of Motherhood.

Though the resonance strengthened her love for her family, it also allowed the bias to worm its way in.

This normally wouldn't be possible, but due to their blood relation and the closeness of their divinities, it did.

Although she herself didn't know this, she was also developing the same bias against her brother as her mother.

In moments of clarity she would wonder, "Why am I saying this?", or "He hasn't actually done anything wrong, has he?"

But the bias remained and led to her agreeing with her unreasonable family and drifting away from her brother.

...

Hera of them all was least affected. The only thing that happened to her was a subtle change, the strength of her divinity, Marriage had increased and in return her loyalty to her husband.

Strange, isn't it?

Though, the strengthening only happens because her divinity was the least related, thus she only received the strengthened love portion, not the bias.

And all this occurred without the knowledge of Poseidon.

But the know Morai.

....

(Third Person)

"Ahhh, my head!", Zeus bellows in the throne room, surrounded by the all major goddesses except for Hestia, his voice scratchy and hoarse from thirst.

"What's wrong with you?", Hera say worriedly.

"My head, cut it open!", Zeus roars.

"Are you sure?", Demeter says feeling confused.

"Just do it", Zeus madly screams.

Aphrodite backs up.

"Where are you going?", Hera asks.

"I don't want his blood to stain me", Aphrodite responds with a frown and a hoarse voice.

Both Hera and Demeter are speechless and Zeus continues groaning and grunting while clutching his head.

"Whatever! Demeter go and summon your scythe", Hera says while trying to comfort Zeus.

Demeter summons her scythe and then lines it up with Zeus hairline.

"How do you want me to do this?", Demeter asks worriedly.

"Just do it!", Zeus roars.

Faster than possible, the scythe has drawn a line around Zeus's head and blood spurts.

Then something slowly wriggles out of the cut, slightly pushing up the now cut off top part of Zeus's skull.

A small bloody human shape falls to the ground and starts rapidly growing until it is a full grown woman, already decked out in armor glowing silver armor that burns away the blood staining her from birth.

"I am Athena, daughter of Zeus formed of Zeus's thoughts!", Athena says.

The goddesses gape.

Zeus continues to bleed out, semiconscious and on the ground.
