4 4 – Realization!

After Athena's question, Poseidon agreed to move in with her after she promised to teach him how to use his powers.

Athena took a few things from her house and they both went to Poseidon's house since it was the best place to train his powers.

On the way to his house, Poseidon asked which places he should avoid here on Olympus.

Poseidon also noticed that Athena was acting weirdly, so he decided to ask, '' I'm sensing that you are scared and angry, can you tell me why?''

Athena, seeing that she couldn't escape the question, decided to speak the truth, '' The Gods, at the behest of Zeus, betrayed the God of War and led him to his death, and I am thinking of a way to help him leave the domain of the dead.''

When Poseidon heard this he stopped walking, ' Crap. From what she said, GOW 2 just started... I don't have much time to prepare!'

Athena noticed Poseidon stop walking.'' Is something wrong, my love?''

Poseidon, who was going crazy internally, said to Athena in a quiet voice, ''Nothing's wrong, love. I was just surprised that the Gods would betray one of their own just like that.''

Athena shook her head, '' It wasn't the first time. This is the second time they've killed the God of War in less than 2 decades.''

'' Can you tell me why?''

''It's because of a prophecy that Olympus would fall to the God of War. Zeus decided to help a mortal against the former God of War, and after that mortal killed the God of War, Zeus decided to give him its power.''

'''And then he decided to betray him?''

'' ''Yes... but it's not like Zeus was totally wrong. The new God of War, Kratos, was more ruthless than the other God of War and led all of Greece into chaos. The Gods, myself included, devised a plan to take all God's powers away from Kratos, but Zeus decided to kill him, something I didn't agree with and now I'm trying to help Kratos.''

'' Zeus is really troublesome,'' Poseidus said.

''The strange thing is that he wasn't like that, something changed in him and in the other gods some time ago.'' Athena noticed that the behavior of some of the gods had worsened a few years ago.

'So Athena doesn't know yet that the gods have been infected by the Evil released by Kratos when he opened Pandora's Box. I have to warn her, but how...?'

While they were both thinking about the future, they arrived at Poseidon's house.

''I don't know where anything is here, only where the lake is,'' Poseidon said and led Athena to his favorite spot.

''Our goal here is to make you know how to use your powers in the best way possible, so the lake is perfect.'' Athena began to look around and observe Poseidon's house. It was bigger than hers but it had a lot of empty space.

When they arrived at the lake, Poseidon asked, '' What should I do?''

''Pass me 10% of your power over the sea and lakes and we can begin.''

Without hesitation, Poseidon passed his powers to Athena. Then, as soon as she received his powers, she began to use the 10% better than Poseidon with his 90%.

'' Are you ready?'' Athena asks.

Poseidon nodded.

' FUCK, SHIT, GOD FUCKING DAMNIT'

Poseidon remembered and discovered several things this past week. The gods didn't need sleep and had enough energy to fight all day long. And that Athena was stronger than he was.

Poseidon spent the last 7 days getting a beating by Athena with his own powers, but amazingly enough, the training brought results.

After the first day, Poseidon was able to fight Athena on equal terms. On the second day, he transferred another 10% of his powers to Athena and was again beaten up.

He adapted, and with each part of the training, he passed more and more of his powers to Athena. And today, with Athena having 90% of Poseidon's powers, and Poseidon only having 10%, they were fighting on equal terms.

Athena was incredibly surprised at how easily Poseidon, who had no memory at all, was adapting. Of course, he was already the God of the Sea, but it was still amazing.

After the training was over, Athena gave the powers back to Poseidon, ''You now know the basics of how to use your powers.

"Now what?''

"Now you continue training while I'll stay here and think about some things,'' Athena said and sat down by Poseidon's lake.

Poseidon said nothing and continued training, losing himself in time as he trained.

Minutes became hours, and hours became days. Suddenly, to Athena's surprise, Poseidon asked, '' What could have caused the Gods to become paranoid?''

Athena stopped what she was doing and said, ''I have no idea.''

"Tell me the story of Kratos again, then.''

Athena thought it was strange but told the story again. In the middle of the story, at the part where Kratos defeated Ares, Poseidon said, '' But you didn't explain how Kratos could kill a God without being one.''

'' Kratos is actually a demi-god, son of Zeus, but he defeated Ares by using Pandora's box to acquire powers ...''

Athena stopped talking, and Poseidon noticed, '' What is wrong, my dear?''

'''I think I know what could have caused the gods to change, but ... it would be impossible.''

Athena suddenly began to notice certain things. Zeus' distrust, and Poseidon's lack of memory, all started when Kratos opened Pandora's box.

'I'm forgetting something important...' Athena suddenly became desperate, trying to remember something critical related to Pandora's Box.

Without many options, she asked her uncle for help, '' Poseidon, cover me completely with your power, like a protective barrier.''

Poseidon got out of the lake, approached her, and did what she asked, '' Like this?''

Athena nodded and began to use all her powers to protect her. From what, she didn't know but her instincts told her to do so.

Then Athena noticed that she was changing too. She forgot that she had put the power of Hope inside Pandora's Box, to fight the Evil inside, if the Box was ever opened.

'I forgot that...! HOW DID I FORGET THAT?'

Realizing that the situation was more complicated than she had imagined, she kept trying to remember more things.

And then she noticed. Something was stirring her feelings and memories. 'I've been affected!'

'' UNCLE! Come here, quickly!''

For the first time since he arrived here, Poseidon saw Athena afraid, 'What the hell happened?'

He approached her, and Athena started to speak, '' Do you remember the Pandora's Box that Kratos opened to defeat Ares?''

'' Yes, we were talking about it a few minutes ago.''

'' I'll explain to you what caused the creation of the box... A long time ago there was a war between the Gods and the Titans, which resulted in the defeat of the Titans and the beginning of the reign of the Gods. However, something else was created from that war.''

'' Evil was born, and Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create a box that would be able to keep Evil trapped. Hephaestus, upon finding out that no metal would be strong enough to hold the Evil, created the box using the Flame of Olympus, but I knew that one day this box could be opened, so I put the power of Hope inside as well, as protection.''

'' The problem is, when Kratos opened it, Evil took away all your memories, sealed some of mine, made Zeus paranoid and distrustful, and I don't know what he did with the other gods.''

After saying all this, Athena became quiet.

But Poseidon was extremely happy, 'EUREKA! Now I have a reason for my lack of memory!

'' What memory you forgot?''

'' That I had put the power of Hope in the box... and I don't know if I forgot anything else!''

'' What do we do now?'' Poseidon asked.

'''We will prepare... for the destruction of the Olympus!''

Poseidon was surprised when he heard this, 'Did she realize something?'

While feeling admiration for Athena, Poseidon asked, ''What do you mean by that?''

Still covered by Poseidon's powers and her own, Athena said, '' The prophecy that Olympus would fall is real, and it's happening as we speak!''

'' Explain further.'' Poseidon was surprised by Athena's intelligence, 'She figured it out! Athena is fucking amazing!'

'' Zeus, a few years ago, when he discovered the prophecy, he asked Ares and me to kidnap the person we thought was the predestined one... but we got the wrong person. We got Kratos' brother, Deimos, but the man in the prophecy was Kratos himself.''

'' I am sure that by now, Kratos probably already scaped the Underworld and is planning something against Olympus.''

Poseidon, who knows what will happen if they stand in Kratos' way, said to Athena, '' Should we involve ourselves?''

Surprisingly, Athena shook her head, '' Let the prophecy be accomplished and then...''

'' Then what?''

'' Then we rebuild Olympus. We will do better than Zeus could ever do!''

Poseidon stayed quiet for a moment before shrugging, '' I don't care about Zeus anyway. You are my top priority, my love.''

While Athena felt guilty about using her uncle, who had no memory, she still wouldn't go back on her choice.

Poseidon went face to face with Athena, their lips almost touching, '' We shall rule Olympus together and bring prosperity to all!''

Athena, not used to affection from anyone, even more so from her uncle, who was a douchebag a few days ago, nodded her head in agreement, '' Together!''
