40 Chapter 38:New Norvos(Omnscient's POV)

Sarnor was an ancient kingdom centered around the great river Sarne and its tributaries and some of the lake remnants of the Silver Sea. According to distant legend, the Silver Sea was once truly a large inland body of water, its coasts ruled by the Fisher Queens. Over the eons, the sea dried out into lakes and their realm collapsed.

The Sarnori, who call themselves the Tall Men (Tagaez Fen in their language) trace their lineage to the king Huzhor Amai, descended from the last of the Fisher Queens. He took as wives the daughters of the greatest lords and kings of neighboring peoples: the Cymmeri, Zoqora, and Gipps.

However, it is uncertain whether Huzhor Amai ever actually existed; the heroic figure may be a mythological retelling of how the ancient Sarnori conquered and assimilated the Cymmeri, Zoqora, and Gipps, merging into one people.

By the time recorded history began, the Sarnori had established a series of city-states along the Sarne River and its tributaries and became well-known for using chariot teams in battle. Always a proud and quarrelsome people, they were seldom unified but engaged in long wars against the Qaathi for domination of central Essos.

The Qaathi lost these wars more than they won them until they were driven past Lhazar to the southern end of the Bone Mountains. Later, Dothraki expansion and desertification destroyed the Qaathi cities one by one, until only one outpost remained: Qarth, which ironically then flourished as a major passageway for sea trade into the Jade Sea.

The Sarnori trades with Valyria, Yi Ti, Leng, and Asshai. They also sails the Shivering Sea to Ib, the Thousand Islands, and Mossovy; warred against the Qaathi and the Ghiscari Empire; and led forays against bands of Dothraki, nomadic horsemen who roamed the steppes to their east

Eventually, the Sarnori became involved in the wars between the ancient Ghiscari Empire and the rising Valyrian Freehold. The Sarnori allied with Valyria during the Second and Third Ghiscari Wars, though during the Fourth, the rival Sarnori kings supported both sides.

The Kingdom of Sarnor is a region of northern Essos along the shores of the Shivering Sea. The Forest of Qohor and Vaes Khadokh are to the west, while the Dothraki sea extends along the south. Omber is a peninsula to the northeast of Sarnor, while the Kingdom of the Ifequevron is farther to the east

During all these years of peace with the Rhoynars, the Valyrian empire was not idle, They were trying to reaffirm their strength so they were being far more expansionist than before.

New Norvos was too far apart from Valyria and territory too hard to defend, so the valyrians were opening a pathway from Essaria to New Norvos. It is being far easier to do this than to expand in the Rhoynar region.

Even with the valyrians expanding aggressively into their territory, the Sarnori city-states did not abandon there on skimmer ships, so valyria even got some allies that helped clean their way. This continued until the valyrians reach the upper sarnor river. Sarys allied with Valyria against their old enemy Saath. Desperate the Saath looked for an alliance with the Rhoynar.

The rhoynar coalition declared an alliance with Saath, so the second spice war began. The valyrians were much more prepared this time. Due to mutual mistrust among the dragon lords, they only sent half of their force at that time. This time they would make sure to spend much more than half. Even the dragons that were too young and small to be ridden were taken.

The pressure also ended up with valyrians researching more aggressively about blood magic and with the blessing of their gods, they were able to find ways to make dragons grow faster, using the blood of some thousands of slaves. Tens of thousands of slaves were sacrificed for their dragons to grow up faster. Now all grown-up dragons were big enough to be unaffected by ballista, at least the normal ones. Counting all the water injection, the Valyrian Empire has a dragon unit of more than one thousand dragons. They also developed a lot of curses, combining ghiscari, valyrian, and qaathi magic.

It all started with the combined navies of Sarhoy, Stepstones, Lys, Myr, and Braavos fighting a sea battle. The ships collided and the coalition easily cleaned up the New Norovos navy.

"No dragon is around. This feels strange let me verify first."Angaraja said.

"General, you can't go alone! At least take some guard with you." his second-in-command said.

"You know me enough to realize that I will not make any of my men endanger itself with whatever trap the valyrians prepared." Angaraja said.

"But!" his second in command said.

"There is no but, give me a rowing boat." Angaraja said.

So Angaraja traveled by boat to New Norvos shore, an unpleasant surprise. All but the city temple was instantly turned into flames. Only the bearded priests and their disciples survived. Freemen, and slaves all were used as a sacrifice to spread this enormous cursed flame, that was hotter than dragon flames but less hot than the lava from the fourteen. Sadly for the valyrians, instead of burning an army to death and destroying the soul of all their enemies, they only hurt Angaraja with a first-degree burn.

"Bastards, these blisters on the skin are uncomfortable. Good that I am alone. This d*mn b*st*rds do not even hesitate to sacrifice their own people "Angaraja said. The bearded priests were not able to run this time, and have to feel the brunt of Angaraja's ire, it was the first time a foreigner found out the name of the bearded priest's god.

"Lord Vermithor, please save your devotees." The priests prayed while crying and pissing and shitting themselves. Their god was silent, however.

That's how New Norvos was gone.
