The battle ends but war begins

(Rin's pov)

The last few minutes were not something I could describe with words. Not only the unknown came to kidnap Miyu, not only Archer came even though he said otherwise in his letter, not only Archer's Reality Marble has changed a little since the last time but Archer used a servant cards in yet another way than we knew of.

I turned to a man that is suppose to protect us. He is the waiter at the coffee shop that I went to together with Emiya-kun. His name is Cu if I remembered correctly and that's what Archer called him as well, so that confirms it. We all were in an awkward silence. The quietness continued until Cu-san broke it.

Cu: "Hey blond boy, do I know you?"

Gil: "I don't think so but I have a strange urge to give you a chocolate."

Cu: "Hmm."

Ignoring their conversation I focused on Archer. My mind went back to my conversation with Bazett that took place just few hours ago.

She is certain that Archer is Emiya-kun. That would answer the secret of his identity but that's only if Bazett is correct in her assumption and she was so sure of it that she even kissed Emiya-kun. It's not like Archer and Emiya-kun share the same hair colour, have similar voice and both of them like to tease me.

Ok, so they have a lot more similarities than I originally thought but why does he need to hide his identity. It's not like he needs to be scared of the mage association with him being part of Einzbern family. On the other hand though I understand not wanting to be seen by the organisation as even if he has Einzbern backing him, someone as powerful wouldn't be left without at least surveillance because in this world the more power you have the less freedom you possess. You wouldn't be able to do anything without someone at least trying to observe you.

(Shirou's pov)

I stared at Angelica as she looked around.

Angelica: "It isn't the same as before but isn't as dissimilar to the one before but it raises the question, who are you?"

Her icy gaze tried to get the answer out of me but unfortunately for her it doesn't work on me.

Shirou: "Who knows, maybe I am the secret weapon created to counter you or I'm just a guy who likes to mess with people but one thing is for sure..."

My voice became a lot of colder.

Shirou: "... you did one of the few that would make me mad and for that you won't walk away without a scratch."

Finishing my sentence I immediately rushed at her with a sword I had in hand. Angelica seeing this didn't move from her spot. Her expression didn't change and when I was about to strike her, the sword went through her.

Shirou: "Tsk."

I clicked my tongue. Of course she would use something like this but I have the perfect counter for it right here.

I projected a red spear that was two meter long but it was different than usual Gae Bolg. It didn't have the aura of a certain death as Gae Bolg but it didn't mean it wasn't a dangerous one. The name of said spear was Gae Dearg and tou can call it the worst nightmare for any magus as this weapon renders magical enchantment and projections useless by serving all ties with magical energy.

The technique used by Angelica is displacement magecraft that substitutes something for something else. It's called Flash Air and it even allows to inverse the coordinates of the attack but it's useless against this spear as it will just cut through it.

I threw the the spear at her and the same way she did before, she crossed her arms and didn't move from her place until the tip of said weapon started to touch the space where it should disappear just to appear on the other side but instead it went through her technique.

Angelica's eyes widened a lot but even in shock she managed to dodge incoming projectile but not without sustaining injury on the right side of her stomach. The cut wasn't deep it was enough to piss her off.

Angelica: "It seems that you have more tricks than the one before but before absolute power it's futile."

As she said it she the golden ripple materialized before her. From there a sword that didn't look like a sword started to emerge. It had a gold grip and handguard. The "blade" was made of three independently rotating segments. The middle segment was spinning clockwise while the other two - counterclockwise.

I tried to analyse it even though I knew it was futile and of course my eyes started to hurt badly. It was like looking at something that does not belong in this world.

The "sword" started to spin faster. A red aura started to surround the blade and spin together with it

Angelica: "You were a little better than the one before but the ant always will be ant and it will never climb up to become an equal to the king."

She flew up in the air and charged her attack even more.

While I was busy fighting Angelica, Artoria confronted Beatrice. She was able to redirect all physical attacks with her superior swordsmanship and dodged all lighting attacks thanks to her instinct. This made Beatrice progressively more frustrated.

Beatrice: "Why... won't... you... DIE!!!

Artoria: "Your attack pattern is simple. While you possess strength superior to mine it won't do you any good if you can't hit me."

Beatrice: "SHUT UP!!!"

She swung widely her hummer missing once again. Artoria had a calm expression the whole time but sensing the familiar aura she turned to mine's and Angelica's fight for the first time. Seeing Ea she frowned.

Shirou: "Artoria, switch!"

Understanding what I was thinking she nodded.

Beatrice: "Don't run away from me!!!"

Trying her luck once more she net the air with her weapon. Artoria was already next me me while I projected my bow and shot a few weak arrows at her making her even more angry.

I was buying time for Artoria to use her Noble phantasm. There are not many weapons that could rival Ea, normally that is. If it was full powered Ea it would be almost impossible to stop the attack but while using Install you use just a part of the power of a servant bestowed by the card and as I summoned Artoria herself she should have an edge here. Now that I think about it I could have used Avalon as well. I always forget that it's original function is absolute defence and could become "portable fortress" that shuts out all interference if needed but I'll leave to Artoria to solve this problem.

Both of them were ready to fire off theirs respective attacks at any moment and when the tension was at it's highest two sword beams started flying towards each other.

Angelica: "Enuma EISH!!!"

Artoria: "Ex-CALIBUUUUUUR!!!"

The attacks collided, Artoria's golden beam versus Angelica's red. It seemed as if they were equals but a trained eye could see that Artoria was overpowering Angelica. When the attack was reaching her, she vanished and together with her so did Beatrice before I noticed. She probably used Flash Air to teleport to safe location and I can't track her if that's the case.

As I was finished with my thoughts I turned to Artoria to thank her for the help but the words stuck in my throat as I looked at her.

Shirou: "Tkanks for the h-"

She was becoming more transparent with every moment but her face showed calmness even in this situation.

Artoria: "It seems I used up my most of my energy in the last attack. I probably overcharged it as Enuma Eish was weaker than I have remembered but it's to late regret it. Before I disappear I just wanted to say, it was good to see you again."

She gently placed her hand on my cheek and forehead against mine and as she faded away in light leaving only a class car after her. I picked said card, placed it against my forehead and said in gentle tone.

Shirou: "It was good to see you too and thank you for the help. I will be counting on you in the future as well."

(A/N I'm really glad that people enjoyed the last chapter. To be honest I was a little bit worried that the chant that I gave Shirou for UBW was too clingy but as no one has said about I take it that there were no problems with it.

Ps. I'm still not sure if Gae Dearg would be able to cut through Flash Air. I was trying to decode by reading everything I can about the spear itself, flash air, magecraft in general and everything connected but I went out more confused than I was before I started. I had 50/50 chances to be right so I guessed it and I hope it was correct and satisfactory.)
