39 Chapter 38

The two now rivals walking into the little cafe start to converse about Pokemon in general and how their journey has been so far.

In the middle of the talk Brendan gets surprised by how Wallace travels around with a helicopter as his family is extremely wealthy, as they are the people in the Hoenn region who produce Pokeblocks and Pokemon food.

Both trainers getting to know each other better, giving each other their Poke gear numbers to talk about once in a while.

After an hour or two of just Pokemon talk they eventually get up and start heading towards the gym.

Brendan looking forward to the new challenge, walks with an extra zap in his step as Wallace has a glint in his eyes wanting to see Brendans new Pokemon and him battling. With Wallaces connections he was able to watch the Pokemon Battle Brendan had with Flannery.

Brendan and Wallace, now after a long walk while chatting about how Brendans Beldum evolved into a Metang on the way to the city, both trainers make their way inside the gym.

Inside the lobby can be seen you normal desk with someone waiting there talking to people, everything seems to look plants besides the forest vibes the plants give out.

Brendan now sighing in and getting ready for his battle, tells Wallace that he'll see him after the match.

Wallace now walking towards the seats to watch Brendans match waves while walking, making a few of his fans start to follow him as they recognise him.

'It's time for you're next battle Brendan, this will be a very difficult but extremely fun match.' Brendan says to himself.

Brendan remembering that he queued for a three verses, three match where one of the gym leaders, Pokemon are part of her main team, remembering this makes Brendan wince at the damage her Pokemon will do to his.

Brendan getting the green light from the guy at the reception desk proceeds forwards into the elevator leading him up to a hallway.

Brendan walking through the hallway, suddenly sees the door at the end open. His eyes closing from the sudden burst of light from the outside, but after a second Brendan recovers.

Brendan on his Podium can see another person opposite side of him. A woman seemingly in her 20s the gym leader of the Fotree City Gym.

The gym leader looking at Brendan, notices that Brendan isn't much of a talker after he nods at her so she decides to start the match. "Referee start the match!" The referee hearing things hurringly, gets to his post on the side of the field.

"This is an official gym battle requested by Brendan from Littleroot town!

This will be a three versus three match where only the challenger can switch once in this battle after a Pokemon defeat."

The man shouts, after a few seconds of saying this. The referee shouts again.

"BEGIN!"

The whole stadium now listening in all, started to cheer and whistle, wanting to see this new challenger face off against the gym leader as high level gym battles weren't that common and very rare at times.

Both trainers hearing the referee send out their Pokemon

Pokemon: Altaria (Green)

"Altaria!"

"Gardevoir!"

"Gardevoir dazzling gleam!" Brendan shouts, Winona reacting fast, tells Altaria to use protect. Altaria getting blinded by the bright light trying to attack it makes a barrier in front of itself to protect itself.

"Altaria use mist, then after that attack with sky attack when you see an opening!"

Altaria, now letting mist out of its body, suddenly gets smacked down by an unknown force sending it hurling towards the ground. Altaria recovering before hitting the floor, is able to set up the mist and start flying around.

'Gardevoir use disarming voice then use psybeam if you see any movement.' Brendan tells Gardevoir through their telepathic link Gardevoir made.

Gardevoir hearing this, nods and uses disarming voice. The disarming voice dealt damage to the poor altaria flinches, making some of the mist move around mostly in one spot making Gardevoir shoot a psybeam in its direction.

Unfortunately for Gardevoir seconds later a shadow can be seen going at a fast speed, can be seen speeding towards her, and before Gardevoir can teleport it gets rammed with a direct sky attack sending her flying.

Winona not letting off this opening, shouts for Altaria to attack again.

"Altaria quickly sky attack!"

Brendan hearing this screams for Gardevoir to counter.

"Gardevoir full power psybeam!

The bird quickly dashing at the downed Gardevoir at record speed is able to dodge most of the psybeam but still getting hit tanking, the psybeam Altaria hits Gardevoir with a direct sky attack knocking it out of bounds, fainted.
