End of a long day

That day, the war extended for another 1 hour before it subsided.

The remaining beasts are either taken care of or they ran away seeing they are too short on number.

I also returned along with the shoulders of the city. All the shoulders who ware fighting has already noticed me, but seeing be helping them to kill the beasts, they don't say anything and let me do what I want.

After returning to the fort, I was taken by Edward, who is also in charge of preparing a place for me to stay.

"What do you mean no room is available?" Edward groan.

We are currently inside an inn. We have already asked all the inns around the city, and no one have an empty room for me to stay.

But even after arguing with the innkeeper, when nothing came up, Edward let out a sigh.

"Are there any other inns?" I asked.

Edward just shook his head in response.

"Don't tell me I have to stay on the street's" I asked.

After thinking for a moment, he shook his head. "No, you don't have to, we have another possibility left in our hands"

"And what is that?"

But instead giving me a straight answer he smirks and said. "You will know for now follow me"

I raise an eye in his statement but still followed.

Walking through the city and reaching one of the neighborhoods, we stopped in front of a large modern house.

"We are here"

Being confused, I looked at him in order to get what he is saying. But instead, he walks inside the complex without even talking to me.

But before we could walk in I asked him. "Whose house is this?"

Smiling at me, he said. "Mine, of course"

"Ha!" I let out a groan before looking at the complex again.

It was huge and even 4 times bigger than my own house.

'Is every commander and vice commanders are this rich? I asked inwardly.

Opening the door to the house, we were greeted with a big hallway, which has a walkway leading to the backward and what seems to be kitchen, and a door which probably be a bathroom.

Pots with some bonsai plants and other furniture's can be seen throughout the place.

"Honey We are home" Edward said.

Soon after, I heard footsteps coming from the kitchen and a figure walked out.

It was an Even women with pointy ears. She has blond hair, couple with her green eyes, and a young face. Elves are known for their beauty, and these woman is less beautiful than some of the actress of my previous world.

Despite being so beautiful, she has a warm and friendly aura around her which made anyone calm just by looking at her.

"Oh you are back" She said with a sweet and melodious voice, then her eyes fall on me. But she just gave me a smile before asking.

"And who might you be?"

Startle I was about to answer, but Edward was the first one to speak up.

"Oh... him he is Zero Elway from Asia, something happened, and the ends up here. We will talk about it later in the dinner table"

"Thanks for having me" I said while vowing a little. After that, Edward take me to one of the empty rooms in the second floor.

Inside the room was quite spacious, with another door leading to what seems like a bathroom. I quickly pick the spare cloths which we brought while strolling through the city, I entered the bathroom.

Being in the battlefield and killing a bunch of wild bores made my cloths are quite messy.

After freshen up, I enter the room while wearing the new set of Even cloths. It was a blue shirt with some extra clothes bear the collar, and the pants are normal, a slight darkies color.

Being satisfying with my new set of cloths, I nodded while looking at myself from the mirror.

Time passed and now it's dinner time.

Everyone in the house gathered inside the dining room including Edward, his wife and other two figures probably their children's.

One of them is a boy who seems to be at his age of 12 and a repeated self of his father, and other is a girl who seems to 16, almost at my range of age, with a similar look of her mother.

Both of them are good-looking, but compared to the world where I am living right now they are average.

Seeing me entering the dining room, both of them look at etch other than looking at me. Exchanging an awkward gaze, we turn to Edward who is sitting on a chair while looking at some papers.

"Dad, who is he?" Suddenly, braking the silence was the 12 years old kid.

Looking at us, Edward smiled. "Roy, why don't you introduce yourself first?"

Startle by the answer, the kid looked at me with an awkward look before he started introducing.

"H... Hello I am Roy Even, nice to meet you"

In response I smiled. "Nice to meet you too, I am Zero Elway, from Drake city, Asia"

Then I turn to the girl beside him. "And you are?"

"Hm!... N... Nice to meet you, I am Elena Even" She said after a chuckle, seemingly embrace by the sudden awkwardness.

"Now kids, dinners is ready" But suddenly miss Even came serving the food. Although I don't know her name, she is giving a motherly vibe with made me comfortable around her.

sigh

'I miss them' I said inwardly while remembering my family.

Sitting on an empty chair beside Roy and Elena, miss Even served food, which is equal to of a modern day pancake, But without honey and butter, But when I cut it open and saw it's inside a sweet aroma filled my nostrils.

Inside the pancake was some jelly like stuffs filled with some crisp chips like objects.

Looking at the unfamiliar dish, I asked. "What is this dish called?"

"It's called lavender cake" said miss Even.

"It's my first time seeing something like this" I said in pure admiration.

Picking up a spoonful of the cake with the soup inside it, I let it enter my mouth. Instantly my mouth filled with various types of flavor's, sweet, a little spice and a little sour, a perfect combination of various types of ingredient's.

'This is good' my eyes lit up.

After dinner, Edward called me to his study, which is situated in one of the room's in first floor. And now we are sitting while facing etch other.

Silence

For a short while nothing but silence was present inside the room, before it got broken by Edward.

"Now Zero what are your plans until the engineer comeback"

I looked at him for a bit then started thinking seriously. Not only, I am trap onside in a totally different continent with no one that I can rely on.

Edward can provide me with the shelter but what after that? it's not like he can look after me all the time.

Looking at Edward, I asked. "First, can you tell me one thing?"

In response he nodded.

"From what I know the transporter to another continent isn't cheap, so my question is even if the transporter is fixed then what?... it's not like it's free or anything"

"Yes you are right, it's not cheap and we can't give you free transport for no reason, if you were one of the world leaders main family members then it can be overlooked but for you it's going to be troublesome" Edward said with a serious look.

I slightly nodded my head before looking downwards in understanding. Truthfully, it's still going to be troublesome if I somehow manage to go to the mainland. Only the leader of the city can give that privilege.

"Unless..." When I was busy thinking on it for a while, Edward cut in.

Tilting my head, I asked. "Unless?..."

"Unless you meet our requirements and contribute for this city"

Rising my brow in understanding what Edward is saying, I place my hands on my chin and started thinking.

Contributing to the city, it's sound not bad but...

For the current situation the only thing I can do to gain enough fame in time is helping the city defending the city from the horde.

But...

"I understand but I don't even know how to even swing my sword" I said.

Squinting his eyes, Edward stared at me seemingly confused. "What are you talking about? I have seen you running around the battlefield while killing some low level beasts"

"That's the only thing to it, I don't even learn any sword Technic or any arts which can help me, and not to mention any training"

"What?" Edward shouted and stomped on the table and stood up with his confused face. Like he has heard something astonishing.

Stared at my face with a disbelieving look for a while, he regains his composer before coughing and sitting down again.

"Sorry about that"

"No it's ok... even I was surprise about what happened, to tell you the truth, the first time I picked up my sword I felt a sarge to swing it and that's it" I said, although it's the truth but It's still unbelievable how I swing my sword.

Even if I know some moves from those fantasy anime's and manga's It's still unbelievable to achieve this feat. When ever I swing sword, I felt I know it very well.

Is it something to do with the from this world? If it's that, then I think I have inherited some of the perks of this self.

Placing his hand on his face, Edward looked at the selling. Closing his eyes, he grasps for air then he looked at me.

"So you are telling me that you haven't even learned to use sword, and you have defeated a chimera?"

Raising my eyes, I said. "Yes, but how did you know that I have killed any chimera?"

"Yes"

Silence, an abrupt silence covered the whole room for a while.

sigh

"So it's true... What an unbelievable talent" He mutter in a low voice.

"Hmm... did you say something?" I asked.

"No nothing, by the way, what other weapons can you use?"

After thinking for a while, I answer. "Tell you the truth, I don't even know up until now I just used a sword"

"I see... you can go now"

I nodded before standing up to leave the room. But...

"And come meet me inside the basement at 6 tomorrow"

I nodded before leaving the room and entering mine.

Lying on the bed, I sighed.

"It was a long day"
