21 Chapter 21 – Two Souls in One Body Part 1

I had surrendered to this feeling of tiredness by making my mind float in dark space. I felt like I'd been in this space before.

I opened my eyes, but I couldn't see anything but my body shining faintly in this darkness.

- Where am I?

The last thing I remember was having sex with all three of my toys and after having sex with Olivia I fell asleep. This could be a lucid dream.

Lucid dreaming was a phenomenon that occurred very rarely in a person. When you dream, you often don't know that you are dreaming. Some remember those dreams while others forget about them completely. Lucid dreaming occurs when you know that you are inside a dream and you practically become omnipotent in the dream. There are people who simply never get to experience them in their entire lives.

I tried to change the landscape thinking of a beach, but nothing happened.

- This is not a lucid dream. Darren

A voice made me turn abruptly. My real name was mentioned leaving me perplexed. Behind me was a figure identical to mine.

- Let me introduce myself, I am Merlin Von Diluc. The original owner of your current body.

His words immediately pulled me out of the trance. This was complete madness. How could it be possible for this guy to still be alive?

- You're wrong about something, I'm already dead.

- Can you read my mind?

Merlin nodded without hesitation. Which caused me more questions than answers.

- What are you?

- I don't know. Maybe some remnant fragment of my soul. I read all your memories and based on them I created the theory that my soul merged with you.

- What do you mean?

- You should know it, but you refuse to admit it. The system opened a gap in this world for your soul to enter, during that process I died and you occupied my body. To maintain balance somehow our two souls must have merged in order for my body to accept you.

That theory made a lot of sense. Even within the game, only one class capable of manipulating souls and corpses called necromancers was known. Necromancers could create undead who could move on their own who were called death knights. These knights required a strong body and the original soul of the body. If one tried to enter an old soul, the body rejected it and ended up turning to ashes after a while.

- I assumed the same thing as you. Now I'm trapped inside my own body helplessly and all the control has been taken over by you. I used to be sleeping peacefully until something woke me up. Do you know what it is?

This guy was already getting on my nerves. In my recollections, he never acted as presumptuous as he does now. His abrupt change of personality may be due to the influence of my memories.

As for what he was saying, I didn't have the slightest idea. The only thing that came to mind was...

- The Dragon's Heart.

- Correct! When you ate that thing, I came back to life, so to speak. Even when I'm awake, I can't take control of my body, so you don't have to worry. I'm tied to you completely, and if you die, so do I.

Merlin's hands moved and a slightly bluish rope connected us.

- My entire soul was consumed by yours allowing you to obtain my memories and my current self is just a fragment of my old self equally linked to you.

- Stop the nonsense and tell me. Why did you bring me here?

This thing of being tied to another man made me angry. So, I interrupted him by forcing him to tell me his reasons.

- I brought you here because of Olivia. You must have felt different from your old self when you were with her. Truth?

I nodded at his words. Normally I wouldn't care about women's feelings. Lately, though, I've started to worry about the emotions of my toys.

- That's due to a remnant influence from my body.

- What do you mean?

- Still don't get it?

This guy's face showed a lot of doubt on his face. It looked like he was talking to an idiot. So, I decided to give my opinion.

- As I merged with your soul, I acquired some of your behaviors and tendencies. Maybe you loved that girl and that's why she refused to treat her badly. Correct?

Merlin nodded, confirming my theory. Then he said.

- Yes, you're right. I fell in love with it since I was little. She was the only one who cared about me and treated me well unlike the rest of the servants. I couldn't have brought you to this space before and it's all because of her. My remaining feelings were amplified while your desires were calmed by taking it out on Camila and Domenica.

- Drop the roll and speak what you want.

Merlin coughed and said. Currently I was acting like a true noble, haughty and superior which annoyed me.

- You don't have to get so angry. I'm just copying your personality. We are both one after all. What I want is for you to treat Olivia and the rest of the women you get along the way.

- I refuse.

I instantly declined his request. Remnant or not, these were not my real feelings.
