77 War crimes

The two forces clash in the sky, and corpses and mutilated body parts rain down as the two sides rip each other apart. Scorge ignored all that and began to hum happily while throwing the ingredients into a small cauldron that he magically pulled out of thin air. He filled it up with some kind of blood and some unknown black goo. Raas watched silently as he slowly regretted accepting his proposal, the fumes of the concoction made him dizzy and nauseous.

Scorge poured a lot of demonic mana into it to refine the ingredients, and a lot of the now whitish golden liquid evaporated until only a tiny bit was left in the cauldron.

The two all seemed to have forgotten about the poor wendigo as she didn´t know what to do, she wasn´t allowed to fight, she can´t run away and she couldn´t even sleep with all the noise, she only sat there and "guarded" the ship silently.

Using the few drops that were left of the refined liquid, he poured it all into a cristal vile.

"Drink this."

Scorge´s tone was almost demanding as he hold the pure white liquid with golden flakes in front of Raas.

Raas sighed and grabbed the crystal container with his tail and drank the whole thing in one gulp.

As the liquid reached Raas's mouth he got light-headed and his vision blurred.

*Ding*

The familiar sound rang in his mind as he saw a screen pop up in front of him.

[Requirements met, host has chosen to be a Fortress Destroyer! May you bring downfall to castles and walls and everything in it!]

"Wow" said Raas absentmindedly, as he struggled to read the text, but eventually he got it, and tried to lay flat on the ground, but even such a simple action took him nearly one minute.

*Ding*

[Sol accepted the integration of the new energy source!]

The gem on Raas's head lit up, shining suddenly like the sun, and the area around him began to sizzle as the corrupted parts of the boat began to melt. Scorge didn´t care about anything as he circled around Raas like a little child observing a small animal in a cage. Luckily for the other two on the boat, the light gradually receded and sizzled out.

The dizziness too receded and he slowly raised his head again, but this was only the start of his transformation.

[A problem has been found!]

[Used ingredients are too potent for the current host...]

[Proceeding with forced adaption!]

[Comencing growth acceleration...]

The first thing that happened was Raas's body rippled, starting from his head his scales rose and feel like waves, then a few of his red and orange scales turned white and gold, making a beautiful pattern all over his body. Then his size grew drastically, his body ripped apart and mended together at a very fast rate, but oddly enough it didn´t hurt. Scorge had to take a few steps back as Raas keeps expanding. The boat creaked and swayed under the sudden weight. It didn´t take long till he was 10 meters long and 1.5 meters wide.

As Raas stopped growing he could feel something weird on his back, as if something wanted to burst out under his skin. And low and behold not even a second later something indeed burst out.

*Poof*

"What?"

"Haaaa?!"

"Nice"

Large white and golden wings sprout out of his back dropping to the ground, the wingspan reached 10 meters, large enough to cover his whole body when curled up, but not large enough to let him fly, the soft feathers looked unblemished from any filth, contrasting from the corrupted environment. Each feather was 30cm long and had a sharp golden tip but some were longer than others.

"What did you give me Scorge?" asked Raas stunned while touching the feathers on his wings. "I know this is a fantasy world but, what the fuck."

"It is MAGNIFICENT! It is even better than what I have imagined! Your luck is truly out of this word SHISHISHISHISHISHISHISHISHI!! To think just a little bit of archangel essence would have this kind of effect on you! Sol must be beaming with joy seeing one of his gem carriers getting to gain such a massive boon, AGAIN!"

*Ding*

Reading through his status sheet his eyes widened, he lost 4 skills but gained 4 new ones, perfectly balanced, and level-ups in other skills. Though what troubled Raas the most was the decrease in his Agility stat, being too immobile was a problem already, the gain in strength definitely balanced it out. He was now very tanky, his health more than doubled and his new wings are kind of... cool? And for the first time ever one of his racial skills leveled up, he still don´t know how to do that, but somehow it did.

He noticed that he has mana again, but with the core broken, it was slowly dripping away.

"Stop looking at your Status all day and try out your new skills!"

A shout took Raas out of his daze and looked into the sky, the summons from Scorge were slowly losing ground as the swarm of monsters was just too much. For every monster, the summons killed 20 more flocked forward.

Raas nodded and tried to fold his new wings out, it was a strange feeling, like you got a new pair of arms, even though he doesn't have arms, but couldn´t move it as he wanted it to. After a few tries, he managed to unfurl his wings, the large wings flapped a little and he flung his wings forward.

Thirty white feathers zipped through the air like bullets, leaving a small golden trail behind. In a blink of an eye, it tore through a bunch of monsters clearing a chunk away, the bodies dropped from the ground and splashed in the sea. His eyes widened at the power behind it, but it was slow, the motion of spreading the wings and aiming took too long to be viable in close combat. Nevertheless, the now giant winged snake was more than satisfied by the power behind the skill. But the kills didn´t give him much experience, not that he cared about that at the moment, having completely forgotten why he became a fortress destroyer in the first place.

Scorge noded his head in aproval, and waited patiently for Raas to test his skills.

Wendy still tried to get her head around that Raas just expanded in size like a newborn slime that just consumed a tier 5 core.

Raas glanced at his wings and saw the many missing feathers and only the long sharp ones were thrown out, 'Maybe 20 more rounds' thought Raas as he looked at the remeaning feathers on his wings. 'Let's give it another try.'

Firing another two rounds and shredding dozens of those flying white pieces of menace he heard Scorges voice, "Maybe you should show us your other new skill before your mana runs dry again?"

"Right right," said Raas sheepishly as he drew on his mana to cast a [Poison Nimbus], a purple steam gathered in front of him forming a deep purple sphere of poisonous gas, it constantly sapped his mana, using half of his mana pool he gathered for a few seconds longer before sending the 2-meter wide ball into the swarm with a flap of his wings. It sailed through the air calmly, far slower than the feathers he shot out. Raas watched with bated breath.

Touching the first monster it phased through it and the monster died instantly, falling from the sky with its eyes bleeding black goo, purple spots all over the body, and the wings crumbled.

The same faith befalls every other monster that touched the dark purple orb, and just when the orb reached the center of the flook it exploded outward everything caught in it died. But it didn´t stop there.

The purple cloud began to form droplets that rained down on the monsters beneath it and tainted the sea under it. Scorges summons that touched it exploded or dissipated.

The solstice venom somehow reacted with the ghost and phantoms. Raas wondered now, Scorge never told him what it did.

*Ding*

*Ding*

*Ding*

*Ding*

But the string of notifications assaulted him, all the exp gain, all the kills confirmations. He leveled up 4 times just from that alone and was steadily rising. The flook of monster eventually realized to avoid the purple cloud and flew around it. But so many have already died that a small iland of corpses formed under the poisonous cloud.

*clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*

Scorge clapped at the fantastic display of death and destruction, it was far more powerful than he imagined, sadly there wasn´t a big explosion, but the number of deaths made up for it.

"The solistic venom sure did a number on my household summons. A truly horrible venom."

"Are you going to explain to me now what it does?"

"No, you have to find it out on your own."

"And why is that?"

"Because it will be more interesting that way. Anyway, so you unlocked [Poison Numbus] and [Hyper Feather Shot] and your mutation is obviously those magnificent wings. Sadly your core is broken or your Feathers could be so much more deadly. And you didn´t gain a breath attack as I have thought, but your [Sun Breath] must have gained a few levels right?"

"Yes it leveled up 2 times"

"Good good, spend your remaining mana on it and cast it right into the center"

Raas nodded and used his remaining mana to cast the skill. He opened his mouth and a small fireball appeared, the more mana Raas poured in the brighter it grew now that he was bigger and had more mana the sun between his mouth shined even brighter than before. Shooting it towards the center of those pesky monsters it exploded, creating a giant fireball in the sky.

*BOOM!*

A second later the sound reached him, followed by the shockwave and heat. The force behind it was far greater than he had imagined it. Just 2 levels can´t have such a drastic effect on my skill, it must be the title.' Thought Raas as he stared at the aftermath.

Flaming chunks flew everywhere, hitting other monsters and setting them ablaze or outright killing them. The chaos it caused was massive as the panicked monsters flew aimlessly trying to get rid of the flames and crashing into others. It caused a small chain reaction and soon 1/8 of the swarm was set ablaze.

"Beautiful isn´t it?" Said Scorge wishfully.

"..."

Raas didn´t respond or heard as he was too busy to look at the scene of thousands of burning birds flying around in the sky.

The only thing that went through his mind was the sound of notifications popping up.
