Although Ye Ling wanted to stay in Fenghua city for a couple more days, he didn't want to lose to Gu Chen over this mission, and he decided to part ways with Xiao Mingxia as he left Fenghua city

Leaving Fenghua city, Ye Ling took a quick look at the mission map he acquired from the sect and headed to the west forest

A couple of minutes after entering the forest, Ye Ling could feel that a group of people were nearby, but he didn't think much of it as he continued moving deeper into the forest

However, as time passed by, the presences beside Ye Ling didn't disappear and they seemed to be getting closer bit by bit

Moving swiftly in the forest, the people around him were getting closer and closer and Ye Ling could tell that the people following him were not weak, the weakest of them was a 6th stage Nascent Soul cultivator, while the strongest was a 1st stage Soul formation cultivator

Although Ye Ling had many extremely powerful techniques accompanied with his physique, he was not confident to face so many people that are stronger than him

Thus, Ye Ling just moved as fast as he could, hoping to leave the forest as soon as possible

"Wha-" The weakest assassin was surprised by Ye Ling's movement and he couldn't react in time as his head was slashed cleanly by Ye Ling

Blood splattered as the assassin's head was decapitated by Ye Ling, and the sound of his body falling to the ground made the other assassins regain their sense

The strongest among them immediately got angry as he yelled at the top of his lungs "KILL HIM"

Immediately, 7 other figure rushed towards Ye Ling at incredible speed as they pounced on him from different angles

Seeing the attack of the figures, Ye Ling immediately got himself into a defensive state, but the assassins were very quick and one of them had already reached Ye Ling's side and attacked from his blindspot

Ye Ling was sent flying and crashed to a nearby tree, as the one who hit him was a strong peak Nascent soul cultivator

"UGHH" Ye Ling growl in pain as blood dripped out of his nose and mouth and he could also feel a lingering pain on his back

The assassins pursuing him didn't give him time to recover as two assassins were already beside him and launched a delay kick aimed at both of his arms

The sounds of bones cracking was heard as soon as the kick went in contact with Ye Ling's arm

Furious at the actions of this people, Ye Ling roared in anger "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE" as he noticed that the actions of these people are well organized, as they have been together for a very long time

"HEHEHE, you don't need to know we are, you just need to know that today will be the last day you live" The leader of the assassins laughed at Ye Ling's word

"YOU WILL REGRET THIS!" Ye Ling roared in anger hearing the words of the assassin

Unbeknownst to both of the parties, Gu Chen alongside Gamma were watching their every movement

As soon as Ye Ling said his last words, he showed the full capability of a protagonist and immediately broke through to the 6th stage of the Nascent soul realm. jumping 3 minor realms in a blink of an eye

The assassins were shocked seeing Ye Ling's breakthrough achievement, and Ye Ling took the opportunity and killed 2 more assassins at the 7th stage of Nascent soul realm

Silence. The remaining 5 assassins alongside their leader were in completely still as they saw 2 of their comrades head get separated from their bodies

The strongest and leader of the assassins was enraged seeing many of his comrades die, so he took it upon himself and dashed towards Ye Ling at an incredible speed "DIE!!"

As Ye Ling and The assassins leader swords met, Ye Ling's body became numb as the recoil of the impact was very strong, displaying the difference of power between a nascent soul cultivator and a soul formation cultivator

The rest of the assassins were also not idle, as they launched a series of punches and kicks at Ye Ling from multiple different angles

Overwhelmed with the attacks of the assassins, Ye Ling used all of his power in his feet to escape

However, the assassin leader took notice of Ye Ling's action and made a slash to his left leg

Seeing the slash of the assassin leader, Ye Ling immediately tilted his body and just barely dodged the potentially fatal attack, but his leg was not left unscathed as his leg was grazed by the blade of the assassin

"TCHH" The assassin leader grinned in annoyance as his attack failed to land on Ye Ling. However, as droplets of blood fell from Ye Ling's leg, the assassins were confident to put an end to Ye Ling, as they moved in closer and closer

However, as they were beginning to be more confident and let their guard down, Ye Ling use his immortal devouring physique and devour the corpses of their comrades and heal himself, and immediately ran as fast as he could, escaping the assassins

"CATCH HIM" The assassins leader yelled as they all chased the running Ye Ling

Looking at the event that just took place, Gu Chen just smiled and shook his head which caught Gamma's attention

"What's wrong Young Master?" Gamma asked Gu Chen curiously

"It is nothing Gamma, I just find it funny how that boy could escape the pursue of those assassins. Obviously, the boy was weaker than the assassins, but he managed to find a way to break free from them" Gu Chen explained to which Gamma nodded

To be honest, it will only took Gamma a snapped of her fingers and Ye Ling will be dead. However, Gu Chen still wanted to play with Ye Ling for a little bit longer and decided to let him live

It was inevitable for the assassins to catch up at Ye Ling, because in the path in front of them, lies a spirit beast at the peak of the Soul formation realm. Gu Chen knew that even if Ye Ling joined hands with the assassins, they won't be able to survive the fight against that monster.

But, having read the background mission from the system, Gu Chen knew that Ye Ling would somehow survived the fight

'He will probably suffer major injuries and somehow managed to barely escape and meet that cousin of mine huh?' Gu Chen thought to himself

Another couple of minutes passed by, and Ye Ling stopped running as in front of him, stood a lion shaped beast whose body is over 15 meters tall and 10 meters long

"A peak soul formation beast.." Ye Ling muttered as he gulped down his saliva while looking at the beast

The assassins soon cached up to Ye Ling, but they all had the same expression as Ye Ling

The leader of the assassins yelled "RETREAT", alarming the beast who let out a loud roar, making all the people there trembled

The assassins then fled using all kinds of movement techniques, leaving just Ye Ling and the beast

Looking at the situation, Gu Chen casually said "It is time for me to step in now huh... Gamma, kill all those assassins!"

"Yes Young master." As soon as Gamma said those words, all of the assassins body blew up, leaving only many piles of blood in the ground

'Despite her look, Gamma seemed to be a sadistic person huh' Gu Chen thought to himself as he saw how Gamma ended all of the assassins
