As mentioned before, once a boy of the Gu family turn 10, He will undergo training outside to gain experience. However, this 'training' will also make them less arrogant and create connections with other young geniuses, as they had to abandon their identity as a Gu family member.

When one undergo outside training, he will usually find a sect and cultivate in that respective sect until he is strong enough.

Getting outside training was also beneficial for Gu Chen as he will go to places out of his parents eyes.

After traveling for many hours, Gu Chen stopped and create a campfire as night has descended.

"Come out." Gu Chen suddenly said to an empty space behind him.

10 breaths of time passed but no one replied to Gu Chen.

"I know you are there, just come out of the shadow."

When Gu Chen said this, a woman suddenly appeared in front of him.

This woman looked like she was in her mid 30s and she was really strong to be able to appear out of thin air like that.

"How do you know that I exist?" The woman opened her mouth.

"I have always knew that you were there, as for how? I think everyone has their own secrets." Gu Chen replied to the woman and a smirk appear on his handsome face.

In fact, it was the system that told him that multiple people are following him in secrets, he was glad to know that his family arrange some people to guard him secretly.

"I see, then allow me to introduce myself, my name is Gu Qingyi and I am one of the 'shadows' of the patriarch assigned to protect the young master during his journey" the woman replied as she kneeled on one knee to the ground.

It could be seen just how powerful the Gu family actually is, as even one of the member of the shadow squad could rival the cultivation base of some sect masters in other continents.

"Then, aunt Qing I have a mission for you. I want you to track the activities of Gu Mei, a branch family girl and report her situation to me."

Being a shadow, Gu Qingyi never questioned the will of her master and live only with the purpose of following the will of her master. As for why she is willing? Because every 'shadow' has their own story (will be explained later).

After Gu Qingyi disappear, Gu Chen wondered which sect he should join to spend his training.

In the central continent, although the Gu family is one of the 4 great families, it is quite low-key compared to the other 3 due to the tradition of 'training'.

Additionally, apart from the 4 great families, there are 7 cultivation holy lands. The 7 holy lands are as follow:

- Heavenly Sword Sect (Everyone in this sect uses sword as their weapon)

- The Buddhist Sect (Everyone in this sect practice Buddhist techniques)

- Ice profound Sect (The only holy land that only has females in it)

- Azure Cloud Sect (People from this sect are very fast, and they has the best information gathering out of all holy lands)

- Starlight Sect (People from this sect mainly use 'star' power)

- Supreme Demon Sect (Unlike its name, it is not an evil sect. People from this are usually body practitioners)

- Celestial Immortal Sect (The most mysterious out of all 7 holy lands, has the least member)

Gu Chen is probably going to join one of these holy lands as it would benefit him the most. The question is which holy land should he go to?
