2 New world

Zhang Xia looked around himself or he tried to but was already confused.

I seem to have more than two eyes, wow this is a weird feeling, I can see right in front of myself even when I turn my head. Wait are those eyes in my chest instead of nipples? How bizarre.

There are also 2 eyes on either side of my head, so a total of 6 eyes, combined I seem to have nearly 360 vision.

Looking down at my body there is a humanoid shape, two goat-like legs. Oh did I mention I seem to be made of some weird shadow substance? The shadows floating off my body like steam from boiling water.

I bring my two long shadowy arms up to my eyes and inspect the very scary and sharp metallic-looking claws for fingers.

Looking around and taking in the view from all my eyes I seem to be in some large forest. Aren't the trees a little small though. I went to a forest back on earth before and the trees were definitely taller.

Alright let's see what I'm working with here, [Status]

Uh, aren't those values a little high for a level 1?

Anyways pushing that aside let's check out the race information:

Nightwalkers are sentient undead monsters from the Plane of Shadow; they are unnatural and malicious, they are recorded to take delight in the corruption and suffering of others. It's a creature of both death and shadows and has enormous powers over darkness.

A Nightwalker's body looked as if it was made of shadow-stuff, with a vaguely humanoid form. They are about the size of a house but were usually no taller than 20 ft (6.1 meters), and their bodies were smooth and hairless.

As Nightwalkers are unnatural beings they are only able to stay in the mortal realm through consuming life energy. Because of this once a Nightwalker runs out of prey they soon die out.

[Notice: To maintain form in the mortal realm one stat is lost per second from each stat category]

So that explains why the trees seemed smaller, I'm over 6 meters tall after all. But more concerning is that last notice.

Checking my stats again

It's only been a minute and I have already lost over 60 stat points in each category, so 300 in total??? Doesn't that mean I only have around 15 minutes left to live?

Quickly I open my skill menu

Shit, I don't even have time to read my abilities that can wait, while my stats are still high I need to find some prey.

Xia started to run in a random direction but much to his surprise it seems Nightwalker's are incapable of simply walking. Instead, they float or fly to move. This is a huge advantage in combat as Xia will make no noise or vibrations from walking and he can also change direction instantly, instead of having to turn and giving away his movements to an opponent.

While floating through the forest like some grim reaper he turned on his [Annihilating Aura], any creature within 30 ft of Xia died instantly. This seemed to be a pretty effective method for killing all the insects hiding amongst the soil and trees.

[Level up!]

Despite leveling up multiple times Xia's stats were still decreasing by the second. Thinking for a moment he decided to read the first skill description [Life Eater]: Absorb nearby lost souls for life energy

Realizing what he was doing wrong Xia also activated [Life Eater], small blue wisps started flying towards him and being absorbed by his shadowy body. Xia could feel the life energy enter his body but was quickly used up.

Even after killing hundreds of bugs Xia had only really stabilized his stats at around 1000 each. Desperately looking around Xia saw a small green man with a wooden pole and rags covering his junk.

Xia floated over to the green man. Despite being directly in front of it, the goblin completely ignored him as if he was not even there but it seemed to sense something was wrong.

Although the goblin couldn't see through Xia's maxed-out Stealth skill its instincts were telling it of incoming death. It decided to run. Xia simply followed behind silently.

Xia had disabled his [Annihilating Aura] to not kill the little goblin. As everyone knows goblins are not solitary creatures. They are like rodents and breed like crazy. All he needed to do was follow this little goblin to his nest and then his rapidly lowering stats issue can be resolved for a while.

It was quite a terrifying sight if anyone could see it that is. A small 1-meter tall goblin was running with a scared face while a 6-meter tall shadow monster of death was silently floating behind it like some stalker.

This poor little goblin will have to regret bringing his tribe to extinction in his next life...
