Last Day

It is the morning of Alex's birthday, and she is eating with her parents at the table. Today marks the day when she can finally start to cultivate, as her body can now endure more intense training at least up to a point. The only thing that will unfortunately hold her back is that the area she is in has low concentration of energy, thus making it harder to progress. Despite that, she knows that she will eventually leave, which while it saddens her she also promises to herself to come back and visit when she can.

Saying goodbye to her parents she makes her way back to the familiar martial arts hall. For half of the martial arts she learned over the last three years she would come back to the hall to make it seem like she was borrowing more books. Eventually she just started to memorize everything when she was there and head home. Now they just assume that if there is a technique she displays that she didn't borrow that she probably just memorized it when she was there, which made her life a bit easier. For the final part of her quest to be able to upgrade the books, Alex had to go in and read through low tier techniques. Going through the low tier section of the building was a lot faster than before as there was less. After reading through the system descriptions of the ones she went through she chose one set to bring her total low tier techniques to thirteen, as now its bad to have more than one breathing technique. Now even the more techniques that are made into one the better, its just that she hasn't read mid tier techniques yet as she hasn't reached that point.

Using four hundred system points she had the system modify those techniques to have the same core as the rest of them. In other words all of her techniques would have the same base, while also giving her a more broad repertoire of techniques. With all of that set in motion Alex now had thirteen techniques to be able to comprehend and learn. After memorizing the main techniques she would learn first, she went on her way back home to start practicing them. Upon getting home though she wasn't just met with her mom, but her dad was also still home and first Elder of the branch clan was there as well.

When she saw the Elder and before she could say anything he started to tell her why he was there, "I know you may be confused as to why I am here, but it is actually more simple than you may think. Now that you are of age to cultivate, even though you haven't reached the Martial Realm yet we are going to send you to the main family. You will be able to excel far better there, and have much more resources that you could get here. We've pulled a lot of strings and you will be able to cultivate there, though you'll have to prove yourself unlike main family disciples." As the Elder said that a look of irritation appeared on his face, the fact that talents would be overlooked just because they were branch members was infuriating to him. "So, for your future you will have to prove that you are worth spending resources on. As unfair as it is, there isn't anything we can do about it, the weak have no say in their treatment."

Alex listened to the Elder attentively as he spoke to her, taking in everything that he said. Instead of it weakening her drive though it lit an even bigger fire in her heart, a determination to show them what she is made of and break their prejudice. Clenching her fists, she locked her determined eyes with the Elder in front of her and nodded her head to him. Him seeing the determination held in her small stature smiled and knew this was the right path to follow, the one with the greatest prospects. "Okay, with all of that said, you and your family will be leaving for the main family tomorrow morning. Make sure you have everything that you will need packed and with you when the time comes and you will become an outer disciple of the Davis family in Hazelwood Town."

With all of this said the Elder bid them farewell until the next morning when he would bring them to the main family. Alex didn't have many things that she wanted to pack, so going into the room she grabbed the things that had memories attached to them which was most of the things still there. After putting them in a small bag she lay her other robe on her small desk next to her bed, and with everything she needed packed went outside and started to practice her first three low tier martial arts. The rest of the day quickly passed, and with that she achieved an initial understanding of her new techniques. After spending time in her room meditating and learning the new breathing technique she gained some understanding towards it.

Eventually it came time for Alex to go down and have dinner with her family, and so she did. They enjoyed each others company while reminiscing about the time the spent here. After a long dinner, they eventually sent Alex to bed where she meditated and continued gaining insight to her techniques before finally setting off to bed.
