48 Cat Walk, Through the Night.

The night was young. The wind blew gently creating a peaceful atmosphere. The magic of a moonlit night was something else entirely.

However, contrary to the scenery outside the window, everything was in chaos in Fredric's mansion. The servants were running around doing work. There was apparent urgency in the air.

Fredric in his office was sorting through papers like a machine and his newly appointed butler, was barely able to keep up with the paperwork. The upcoming war wasn't a small matter. Fredric had accepted the war invitation sent by Jester a few days ago. It's safe to say Fredric was pissed.

In a letter, Jester had confessed to killing his son. Without checking the legitimacy of the claim Fredric declared war.

According to him, Sakura had no reason to kill his son, unless she was here to assassinate him in the first place. Which clicked right into place.

And now Fredric was going through all the procedures such as gathering war supplies and giving out orders to the knight commanders and generals.

Unbeknownst to him things were already going haywire.

'I wonder where this boy is going.' Sakura at this moment was following Phil as a cat.

Unfortunately, this world didn't have cats. So, she took some caution while walking. The tininess of the cat form was just too convenient to give up.

At first, Sakura was following the boy out of boredom, however now it turned into curiosity. Sakura didn't have any idea how Phil lived. She only knew Phil was native and was somewhat well off compared to the other kids.

She wondered why this boy was walking so suspiciously, so close to the curfew. The curfew was in an hour or so, and the streets were becoming empty and isolated.

The boy named Phil walked through the empty streets, occasionally taking a look at his back, to make sure he wasn't being followed. Sakura followed the said boy by hopping on the rooftops like a nimble cat.

Phil walked and walked heading towards the slum area which is located at the edge of the town.

This section of the town was particularly poor. The crime rate was also higher than in the central districts. And the regulations were lost and corrupted.

The cleanliness of the central district could be nowhere to be seen. The drains were mostly clogged so, there was a certain bad odor around, Sometimes you could see shady-looking people walking by. Overall, the place felt dark.

While walking a group of shadows were seen in a nearby alleyway.

'Oh, it's them.' Upon closer inspection, Sakura recognized the figures. They were the boys who stayed with Phil in his endeavors. Phil seemed to be looking for them as he went to them. The whole ordeal seemed sus. Meeting your friends in a dark empty corner of the slums during dark hours.

Sakura hopped onto a nearby tin roof and sat there listening to the conversation happening between the boys.

"Did you find what I told you??" Phil asked.

"Yes, boss."

The boys discussed things that Sakura didn't understand. They were talking about running away from the town in secrecy.

'Why are they running away in secrecy. They could literally walk out of the gate. It's not like there's any rule to restrict them.'

Sakura became more and more confused as she listened to them.

'Astra?'

<Yes, master?>

'Give me some context here, I'm lost.'

< It would take 0.0002 EP >

'Do it, And also you don't need to ask for confirmation every time If the amount of EP is small.'

< As you wish to master. >

A torrent of information entered Sakura's head. She instantly understood what happened.

Essentially this happened.

Earlier this day Phil was on his first date with the girl called Aeolia. Everything was going okay until a group of unknown people came and kidnapped Aeolia. Turns out Aeolia is a princess of a recently fallen nation. it's not clear why she was kidnapped though. But little Phil here is set on to rescue his first love.

'When did they get so close again?' Sakura scratched her head.

'Anyway, this feels more like something you would see in a movie. The heroine is kidnapped and the hero who in this case is Phil is dead set on rescuing her.'

But regardless Sakura looked at the boy and she could see the firm determination in the boy's face. Not to mention his lackeys had a certain firmness in them as well.

Sakura liked this so she decided to help these guys if they were in trouble. It's not like she has anything better to do, anyway.

Aeolia sat in a fairly decorated room. It was a room inside a tent. The tent was particularly expensive looking. As an ex-princess, She could tell these things are made out of high quality and rare materials.

Aeolia sat quietly as she was waiting for someone. She has been kidnapped. But she was still given royal treatment for some reason.

'Oh, my hero save me just like you saved me that day!' She prayed in her mind as a certain boy's face came to her mind.

After a while of her praying a person came outside of the tent and called her.

"May I come in miss?" A man's voice was heard.

"Go away!" Aeolia said.

"I see. I was just here to deliver your food, miss. But since you don't want it, I will take it away."

"No wait, you can come in," Aeolia said. She was hungry, to be honest.

the curtains moved revealing a man and behind him were a few maids holding platters and other utensils potentially consisting of food.

Aeolia noticed the man with a clown mask on his face. This man wasn't the person that usually attends her so Aeolia became a little nervous.

Nonetheless, this man was Jester. The man who is currently helping the knight captain start a revolution.

The man came in and a bunch of maids came in behind him. they presented delicious-looking cuisines.

Aeolia even recognized some of the food to be very high-end. After all, she was a royal. She may have fallen from grace but the said experience is still there.

Aeolia looked at the food suspiciously and then back at Jester.

"What are you up to?" She said with clear hostility in her voice. Though the hostility looked more like a cat's hissing rather than a cold indifferent one. It was clear that Aeolia wasn't the brightest person with her expression.

However, Jester was in his usual polite expression with a business smile.

"I am glad you asked mam."
