Chapter 2 The Spider and a Dragon

“I-it’s d-d-dead! Ahhh!”

Did somebody save me?

Zerha looked around to see if anyone was around, though there was no one in sight. She did not know that she is the one that killed the serpent.

There is no one here except me, but I did not do anything to the snake! W-who killed it? I better get out of this place!

But after a minute, Zerha suddenly felt dizzy and lost consciousness.

Hours later, she woke up and quickly slung the backpack over her shoulder before she started strolling around the area in search of an exit. But while looking for the way out, a humongous spider appeared in front of her.

“A-a b-big spider! Ahhh!”

Zerha ran as fast as her legs could carry her, but the spider caught up with her easily. It shot out a web in an attempt to trap her with the threads, though she dodged it. The threads of a spider were so sharp that they could mangle someone in an instant. The massive creature let out another thread. Some of the threads hit Zerha’s face, inflicting a gash on her skin.

“Ugh!” Zerha groaned in pain as blood started dripping from her wound. She suddenly felt afraid upon realizing that if the threads struck her entire body, she would probably be torn to shreds. Although Zerha wanted to get furious with the spider for injuring her face, she could not bring herself to yell at it because she was overcome by fear.

How can I escape from the spider? How can the threads of the spider webs be so sharp that it can tear someone into pieces? Huhuhu someone help me!

The spider suddenly stopped moving. Zerha noticed this and froze in her tracks. She faced the spider, which started climbing the walls. Every time the spider changed its position, it left threads in the area where it had previously been. Zerha watched the spider in confusion. She did not realize that the spider was intelligent enough to think of setting a trap for her.

What is this spider doing? I should quickly escape from here while it is busy moving around so weirdly.

Zerha was about to run when she noticed that every path that she could have used as an escape route was covered with sharp threads.

“Sh*t!” She exclaimed.

It cornered me? So there was a plan behind its weird moves, after all! It formed spider webs all over the place to corner me! Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t! Zerha cuss nonstop due to the panics she feel.

The spider was already in front of Zerha, eager to devour her. Zerha tried to formulate a plan. How can I defeat this spider? Eh? Why would I think that I can defeat it? I’ll just think of a way to get out of here! But how can I cut these threads? Zerha tried to touched the threads, wounding her finger in the process. If she wasn’t careful, her finger would probably be sliced in half.

Whew! The threads are too hard to cut. Perhaps even a knife won’t be able to break them either. But even if it can, I don’t have a knife. The big snake earlier has venom that can melt a rock! Maybe it can also melt this spider’s threads! Huhuhu if only I had some of that snake’s venom!

Then Zerha remembered how the snake suddenly died. She started to ponder on the cause of its death. When I shouted that I wanted the snake to be dead, that’s when it died! Yeah, and this backpack, too! I said that I wanted a bag and it appeared unexpectedly! Maybe I will be lucky again and create a miracle, the snake died all of a sudden and there are monsters here, so it's possible that I can create something magical? She thought.

Zerha didn’t fully comprehend how it worked, though she decided to try something.

“Venom!” Zerha shouted and opened her hand so that her palm was facing the spider. Nothing came out. The spider gave Zerha a spiteful look.

Eh? It didn’t work? But I saw characters from anime that are trying to create magics doing like this...Maybe I didn’t do it correctly? Let me try it again. “Venom!” Zerha shouted again, though this time she spit out her own saliva thinking that it would turn into venom.

The spider stared pitifully at Zerha. This girl is so stupid. Let me end her life now, the Spider thought.

Zerha looked at the spider that was getting ready to encase her in threads.

“Sh*t!”

The spider began releasing ropes of threads in her direction. If she failed to dodge the spider’s attacks, she would be sliced into bits.

Zerha closed her eyes, though one could see that she was focusing hard. “Venom!” Zerha shouted again, stretching her palm out towards the spider. This time drops of venom came out from her palm, and they hit the threads, which melted instantly. The spider suddenly panicked, because Zerha was the only one capable of melting its rough, sharp threads.

Many humans and demons had entered the cave in pursuit of treasure, though none of them succeeded in obtaining the valuables because of this spider who had torn all of their bodies to shreds with its threads. As for Zerha, she didn’t cut the threads; instead, she melted them.

Zerha internally leaped with delight upon seeing the success of her plan. It really works! Let me try it again. Zerha closed her eyes as waves of energy flowed through her body. She also felt sparks coming from her soul. She had never experienced this feeling before. It was an overwhelming power that did not seem to belong to her. Zerha did not think too much about it and focused on diverting the energy to her palm with the venom from the serpent earlier clear in her mind. Much to her astonishment, there was venom forming on her palm.

As she opened her eyes, she unleashed the venom and it splashed directly onto the spider. The spider tried to shield itself using its own threads but to no avail because the threads melted.

The spider wanted to escape, though it was too late. The venom struck the creature’s body, and a moment later, nothing of it was left; even the bones had melted.

“Wahaha! I didn’t know how and when I got a power like this, but I feel incredible! Wahaha!” Zerha was so happy that she defeated the spider. At the same time, she was angry because her face was badly wounded due to the serpent’s venom earlier as well as the cuts made by the spider’s threads.

My face! Huhu! Matte (Wait), this is not the time to worry about my face! Since the spider is already dead, I should leave this place fast before another monster shows up!

Zerha produced some venom to destroy the webs created by the spider.

She was about to walk out of the area when another monster showed up. It was a dragon, and it was five times bigger than the serpent and the spider earlier. Zerha was so stunned by the sight of the dragon that she didn’t even move an inch.

Oi! Oi! Oi! Chotto matte (Hold on)! A-a-a g-g-giant d-dragon! Ahhh! B-better run!

Zerha started running, though the dragon used its tail to hit her, and she crashed into a rock.

“Ugh!” Zerha groaned in pain and slowly stood up. Huhu! Why is there always a monster that shows up? Oh no! Is it because I picked up the gemstones? Zerha grabbed her backpack, planning to give it to the dragon.

“H-here, i-it’s all yours! I-I’m sorry for picking up the gemstones! I-I’ll give it back to you! I-I will put it in here. I-I gotta go---"

Zerha turned around and was about to run when the dragon suddenly spat fire, and she would have turned to ashes had she not moved behind a large rock.

Zerha was shivering in fear. I almost died! How can I escape from it? Don’t tell me I have to defeat that dragon! But it’s too huge! I will probably die before I can even get close to it! Wait, why would I even entertain myself with the thought of getting close to it? Hmm, maybe I can try using the venom to melt that dragon.

Zerha tried to launch some venom at the dragon though the dragon was too big, and she had only released a small amount of venom. The dragon received very little damage, though the wound suddenly disappeared.

What the? It can heal itself?

Before the dragon started spitting out fire again, Zerha quickly hid behind the rock. As the dragon spewed more flames, Zerha tried to think of ways she could defeat the dragon. Maybe if I keep splashing lots of venom repeatedly onto that dragon, it will melt and won’t have time to heal itself.

When the dragon stopped breathing fire, she got out from where she was hiding and started to continuously launch drops of venom at the dragon. Though she failed to melt the dragon. Her splashes were too small, and every time the venom hit the dragon, its wound would heal

immediately.

Sh*t! It doesn’t work! Zerha hid behind the rock again. Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind. I hope I can do it and if it works, I’m sure that it won’t be able to heal itself!

Zerha tried something. Similar to what she did earlier, she closed her eyes and felt the energy flowing from her body. She pictured herself forming threads like what the spider did. Zerha thought that while the venom did not work on the dragon because it had the ability to heal itself, perhaps the strong, sharp threads from the spider would work. She remembered that the spider’s threads were so sharp that it even cut a boulder in half.

Upon opening her eyes, Zerha successfully created the threads. She got out from behind the rock and faced the dragon, whose gaze was also fixed on her. Any moment it would spit fire at her. But before this happened, Zerha quickly created threads which she formed into a large net and quickly threw them at the dragon. The dragon wanted to escape the net and was injured, though it used its powers to heal the wounds.

The dragon grew furious and breathed fire into the threads in an attempt to destroy them, though the threads remained intact.

Zerha was still controlling the threads using both of her hands. Just as she planned, she pulled the threads, and squeezed them together until the dragon was torn into pieces. As much as the dragon wanted to heal itself, it could not do so because its power was no match for the thick threads that squashed it roughly.

“I-I defeated the dragon! Wahaha!”

Zerha was so jubilant that she started laughing like a crazy girl.

Huh? Did someone call me crazy?

Zerha grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder. She began walking in search of an exit from the cave when she realized something.

Hold on. I woke up in a cave and I have a f*ck*ng horn! I woke up in a different place where monsters and dragons exist! I do not know exactly where I am, but I know I am in a different world!

......Did I undergo reincarnation?

Our stupid MC finally realized that she reincarnated, though she had yet to learn that she reincarnated as a demon.

Why do I always feel like someone is speaking badly of me?
