2-The Tutorial I

[Battle of Gods]

When the [God of Creation] created the universe, he was alone, so he created life. However, those beings were too simple and could not cure his loneliness, still he liked watching over them. He experienced sorrow for the first time when those simple life-forms perished, so he created an afterlife where their souls could live forever.

  As time passed, his ever-expanding universe grew too complex. To address this, he replicated more of himself, resulting in the gods.

These beings were not whole, while they were created in his image, each of them only possessed one of his many attributes. However, it was a happy accident, all the gods had their own personality, driven by their attribute, and the [God of Creation] was overjoyed.

With time, the gods behaved like a society, they exchanged ideas, arguments, love, hatred, and reverence for their creator.

Unfortunately, after eons together, the gods tired of each other and sought entertainment and influence over the rest. The [God of Creation] turned a blind eye until the conflicts got out of hand and the gods started killing each other.

As a solution, he proposed the gods settle their disputes by using the simple creatures as representatives.

Once a century, thousands of recently departed souls are transported to another dimension before reaching ther afterlife.

A vast continent where the relocated souls train to become stronger and fight for their god.

After arriving, they are given back their body as [Contenders] and a [Support System] which they will use to go through a tutorial. Contenders will undergo trials in the tutorial to prepare for the showcase battle. In this battle gods will take notice of contenders they find interesting and offer them to become their champion.

The [Champions] are contenders who represent a god and are backed by them. Champions then use their influence to obtain subordinates by establishing contracts. These subordinates are the [Contractors], they also receive perks from their god in exchange for allegiance to the champion.

The groups established by champions under a god are called [Guilds], which are the ones who participate in the [Battle of Gods].

Finally, as a prize to the champion who is deemed victor of the [Battle of Gods] the [God of Creation] grants one wish to them.

"I see"

Theo had a stern look on his face while reading the explanation on the window. Feeling deep anger as he realized his situation.

"I've become a toy for those bastard gods" said Theo as he let out a faint chuckle.

"What am I supposed to do now, I just want to rest, but it seems like that will be impossible"

"I guess I have to go through that tutorial, but what is a [support system]?"

"Beep"

A new window appears, this time it shows [Theo Ryfin. Currently at Tutorial Waiting Room. Skills- [Mind of Steel] (Grade D)]

"Is this me? Heh, no surprise here, just weak as always"

"Beep"

[This is the support system, here contenders can check their current quest, skills, and blessings. The support system will provide contenders with updates on their current quest, such as rate of completion and location. The six skill grades a contender can have range from A to F. Blessings have two categories; Champion grade or Contractor grade and are given by the god they serve.]

[Skills are obtained through experience, and they are what increase your stats. For example, if you were to practice with the sword, you would receive a [Swordsmanship] (Grade F) skill, which would increase your strength.]

[Blessings are unlocked through achievements, when you achieve something of value, your god will grant you a blessing. Each blessing contains specific powers that do not grow like skills.]

"Again, they are giving me too much information to process at once"

Theo goes through the different sections of the [support system] to familiarize himself with it. He realizes he has one skill which is already Grade D, [Mind of Steel]. Theo realizes his only skill is simply mental resilience, which would only help him keep fighting at most. "Not bad, but I need a skill that I can actually use, can I obtain more skills in here?"

  "I better test it out."

He started running along the walls of the giant room hoping he would get a skill. After a long time, he ran out of breath but continued running [New Skill: Endurance (Grade F)].

He fell on the hard floor and stayed there to catch his breath. "System"

"The number of skills is now two! Still no combat skills though, I guess I would need to train with a weapon or hit something to earn the sort of skills that I need."

"Once I obtain weapons, I wonder how long it would take to get a skill. I am not experienced with fighting so something simple like boxing would be good. However, that puts me at risk against opponents, since I will be fighting close range. What should I pick…"

"I wonder what other skills I can obtain while waiting here, should I go hit the wall to learn something like boxing?"

Theo got up and headed to the nearest wall, his intention was to hit it until something happened.

"Beep"

[The Tutorial is now ready. Starting briefly.]

"It's time, what do those f*cking gods have planned for me?"

[The first trial will now begin. Easy combat simulation being prepared]

"Combat? Sh*t, I have to fight right at the start?"

[Summoning monsters]

About twenty steps away from Theo, two small ugly creatures appear, they are green with thin hairs spread all over their body. They have a humanoid figure but have big noses and ears and seem very aggressive.

"Both of them are holding daggers, how am I supposed to kill them?"

"Beep"

Eight windows appear in front of Theo, all different weapons. There is a sword, a dagger, a shield, a staff, a big hammer, brass knuckles, a bow, and a spear.

Theo has a pale face as he is pressured to make a choice that could be the difference between getting stabbed and winning.
