Bloody Fight

" Winner Jack."

" What! how did Lyric lose? He totally made it there first, he would have won in a real fight." Tanya complained.

" No, They both would have died, in a real fight. It should have been a tie. Is that even allowed though?" I voiced as more a personal understanding.

" That's annoying. I was hoping to see him lose." Tanya grumbled, as Lyric made his way back to us.

" I lost, sorry Tanya." Lyric came back sad, his ears were droopy and his tail was down. He was rather bummed about losing.

" It's, okay lyric, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little upset he got the both of us, but we have one last hope." Tanya turned to me, and Lyric's gaze followed." He won't even know what hit him." Tanya grinned

" You do know he's been watching the matches right. He knows about Alice." Lyric pointed out. Tanya's happy mood immediately bombed. Her facial reaction was best described as the internal feeling of when you trip and catch yourself and no one saw, then you trip again two steps later and fall on your face.

"Shut up, and let me have my moment alright!" Tanya raised her voice, and shook her fist at Lyric

"Alright." Lyric seemed happy. I would agree. A happy or an angry Tanya was far better than a sad one.

" You alright bro, that seemed like it was a pretty eventful match." Gram asked Lyric and patted him on the back.

" You did a good job, that was a very close match. Your foe was a skilled fighter, you should be proud of what you did." Eric added consoling him.

I look between the two newcomers and realize I completely for got they existed for a moment.

"The next match will be Fort Atlas's Kon Thalis against Elysium's Alice. Competitors please enter the ring."

" I'm up next, wish me luck." I said as I walked over to the stage.

Walking up to the stage I see the girl that had taken Eric out, near the beginning, during the fight between Luxen and Anabelle. My opponent was a girl with blond hair and red eyes and with pair of fox ears and a tail. She was really cute too.

" Kon" Kon said curtly

"Alice." I nodded towards her.

" I won't lose."

"Neither will I."

We spent a minute appraising each other. She had bracers that were cold silver in color, contrasting her bright yellow blond hair and fur. The gauntlets themselves had no fingers and looked a little like metal boxing gloves. She also had metal boots that matched her gloves, being a smooth silver.

" The match between Kon Thalis and Alice will now begin. Both participants prepare yourselves."

"Start!"

I drew my daggers and we immediately engaged. She was fast, but it wasn't impossible to keep up with her, this was probably going to be a real fun match. We met in the middle of the ring, and we both threw an attack. Before they connected I jumped back feeling something off, and thank god I did. Her fist hit the ground and it collapsed under the force of her hand. Spinning she smacked me out of the air with her tail that hit like a truck and sent me flying. I corrected myself in mid air as she pursued me and upon contact with the ground she had made it to me. Ducking under a punch she sent, I aimed for a slash across her stomach, but she moved back in time to dodge and counter, throwing a round house towards my head. I roll to my side and send my leg out to sweep her other leg that kept her grounded and returned to standing. She flipped back dodging my leg and a knife I threw hoping she would jump up into it. A beautiful back hand spring, and a graceful landing placed distance between us.

I naturally reciprocated her earlier generosity by pursuing, so once she landed I was in the process of attacking, with a flurry of Stabs and slashes. I threw a thrust forward as soon as she landed and She deflected it with her glove, and countered with a punch. I ducked again and she sent a kick towards my chest I dodged to the side, but she continued her attack switching to a low jump kick, aiming once again for my head, I managed to Dodge again, only to be smacked by her tail. Rolling on the ground I slide on my hands and feet, as she appeared in front of me. I lunged towards her neck catching her off guard, and she raised her hand to her neck to block. Using her hand as a vault I Spun myself over her head and Attacked towards her spine. She rolled forward to dodge and I followed.

I was cut short as a foot arced towards my head, and I stepped back. I ducked and lunged forward to stab her in the thigh to slow her down, but she Jumped up and back throwing her other foot at my shoulder. Rolling to the side, I catch myself and relax, looking for an opening. We were still feeling each other out. We stood anticipating each other. Then we both moved forward again clashing, her fist hit my dagger and I spun using the force of our blow to attack her stomach, and her neck simultaneously.

Bending back to dodge my blades Kon's hands landed on the floor behind her dodging my strikes and Kicked up, her foot brushing right beside me, before springing back making distance. Upon landing she moved to attack; running at me she jumped aiming a kick at my head again, becoming a bit predictable, I moved to strike her, but she used my shoulder as a spring board and jumped up. Suddenly a orange burst resembling a fist hurdled towards my face at a frightening speed.

Jumping back the Blast hit the ground in front of me, blowing me back slightly. Dust rose from the point of impact, and using the dust as cover, my knives turned purple and I accelerated forward. Emerging from the dust a kick was aiming for my chest. I rolled to dodge and shot straight at her neck slashing towards her Throat, which she managed to block with the back of her hand, and in the same motion stabbed towards her stomach which she had left open. She had grounded her leg she just kicked with swept it behind her, shifting her stomach to its side and narrowly dodging the strike. I grabbed one of her wrists pulling forward to make her stumble. I managed to stab her in the leg with a knife I was holding with my tail, but she got out of my hold by throwing me across the field.

I recovered and shot back towards her. She tried to reciprocate but her leg now had a nasty gash in it limiting it's usability. She stumbled and I used that opportunity to end the fight. Or rather tried to. As soon as I dash close to Kon to end the fight she moves abruptly my strike narrowly missing and a glowing fist connects with my stomach sending me flying. A little higher and it may have been lethal. I had the wind knocked out of me, and the impact on the ground was less than pleasant, but I had to move. I rolled onto my hands and feet and threw myself to the side as a boom resounded and a crater was formed where I was previously. Kon had once again attempted to attack me and I gritted my teeth as I waited until she almost hit me and a veil of purple appeared around me as I vanished. Appearing behind her I attempted to attack her spine and limit her movement, or completely disable her, but a back kick towards my head forced me to abandon my attack.

The light around her faded and she stumbled a bit. I attacked her as she was currently occupied with the aftershock of her art, and I lodged a knife into her stomach. She fell forward as her fist turned white and flew towards my face. Adjusting my head a little it missed by a hair. My eyes widened as I could feel the breath of death brush against the skin along the right side of my neck, as it trailed up my head caressing my face and causing my hair to flutter. That attack might have killed me. I stood frozen as Kon finished falling onto me, taking me with her to the ground.

" Winner Alice."

The medical team pulled both me and Kon off the field as she currently has a knife sticking out of her stomach and I have a very large and painful amount of internal bleeding in my stomach, and a dislocated shoulder that I didn't realize I had until just a moment ago. Looking myself over as my senses were currently crying from pain I finally realized that this place was pitting ten year old's against each other for practical deathmatch fights. Beating the other person into a position where they could easily die. What's worse is it took me nearly dying to realize that. My common sense is really taking a beating from this place.

When thinking about the fact that I'm only half way through the first year of this three year commitment made me sigh at my predicament. I can only hope I don't lose my rationality and sanity by the end of this. Thinking back to the bear that I ran into with lyric all that time ago. I remember why I need to get stronger. This world isn't like my old one. It's dangerous.

My vision falls onto Kon. I feel bad about how I beat her, my heart beat began to quicken from guilt, that was immediately silenced by a large pulse, from said guilt that cause me to want to throw up, the painful reminder that the blows she landed on me, even indirectly, hurt like hell. Yep, she deserved it. I hissed and inhaled a breath of air but chocked and started coughing since something got in my lungs. My sympathy immediately drained, as I felt the warmth of my own blood run down my chin and coat my mouth. We were healed over on the edge of the ring, out of the center. A roar of cheers, muted the soft ringing in my ears.

It was all a bit of a blur as I was being healed, but it got better after a minute. The dust in my eyes, and the pain all over my body made it hard to focus, but after a little the irritation went away and all the pain was replaced by a wave of exhaustion.

" There you are Miss, Alice. Your wounds should be healed so that they won't hinder your next battle. Your next match will start in five minutes, so please try to recover yourself as best you can until then." The kind lady that saw to my recovery told me. I couldn't help but groan at the news. I have to fight Jack in the next round and I am obligated to try because Both Lyric and Tanya lost to him. I can't let him just go free right?

In my current condition I, did what I could to prepare, so I used Moonlight magic to try and sooth my muscles and chill me awake. Time passed in a flash as before I knew it I was called up to fight. I was feeling a little better than before, but I was still sore and really tired. Walking up to the center where the holes in the ground thanks to Kon's punches and kicks were freshly smoothed over, making it appear as if that traumatizing fight never happened.

Before me stood my last obstacle and this competition would be over. Jack. I was a little nervous about this fight. I was already so tired, I knew if I made a mistake here I might not make it out on top.

" You beat Kon, That's impressive. I'm going to be honest I've never beaten her, not without a few broken bones at least. Though I guess you both have that cheating third arm to screw people over with." He joked. I could tell he was tired too. He wasn't as gone as me, but the consistent battles took a lot out of a person and considering it has only been about an hour for the entire competition, we didn't have a lot of time to recover. With the fact he fought both lyric and Tanya there is no way he isn't exhausted.

" Please, just lose." I asked, with a blank face. Emotion was too exhausting at the moment.

" Now, why would I do that?" he smiled. " I may be tired but it's not too bad to not have fun."

" God, you guys would get along so well." I droned. Tanya and Lyric would do this to me all the time. They would ask for spars one after the other, one reason was to improve themselves against someone who has a more diverse annoying method of attack, the other was to rack up victories fighting me while I'm tired. They would also say it was in the name of fun too.

"~Yawn~ Lets just get this over with." I said my eyes getting a little droopy. I fought the exhaustion. I would be fine once the fight started because I would be in a position I couldn't sleep, but it would be really embarrassing if I fell asleep just before a fight.

" Wow, I guess it's true. Cats really are lazy." He said with a tired smile " I'm kitten. I'll admit that wasn't a very ameowsing joke."

" That one really was a was a cattastrophe. How is it pawsible for you to be so annoying?" I shot back. He thinks he can beat me with puns does he. " It was your bad luck to cross me. I'll try not to leave you Catatonic, when you lose."

" ~Pfft~ Your good, Alice" Jack seemed to have woken up a bit with the exchange of puns, I did too, oddly enough.

" The match between Jack Harkness and Alice will now begin. Both participants prepare yourselves."

" Match Start."

Jack started off by walking towards me with his two chains swinging them in circles to make them move in fast arcs. I sighed and decided to attempt to end this quickly. Taking two handfuls of throwing knives I threw them at Jacks feet. He moved out of the way of all of them blocking a few. I didn't throw them with much strength so he just gave me a look like ' is that the best you've got.' I then grabbed my sword and pushed myself as hard as I could to attack Jack.

He smiled about the fact I was finally taking this seriously and pressed forward. Attempting to deflect his chains I struck and he reacted by whipping the chains. His chain wrapped around my sword and I stabbed into the ground, attempting to bind me, but I was prepared and stabbed my sword into the ground . I pulled out a knife and attacked his wrist that was holding the kama end of the chain and disarmed him. Throwing the knife at point blank range I clip his leg and grab his ankle, wrapping the chain around it and pull out as I stood up placing my shoulder into his stomach and sending him onto his back.

I got kicked in the head as I attempted to end the fight not paying attention to his other leg. The chain I had a hold on was stripped from my hands and suddenly I jad the chain wrapped around my neck slowly chocking me. I resisted but I couldn't move, Struggling to think straight from the lack of oxygen and the exhaustion my tail brushes across the ground and I feel something cold. It was one of the knives I threw earlier. Grabbing as best as I could with my tail I stabbed and cut him as many times as I could in the various places my tail could reach.

He hissed in pain and loosened up a bit allowing me to escape. The rush of blood to my head made me a bit woozy but I had to stay vigilant so I tried my best.

" Sorry, but I'm not really into that kind of thing, and were in public have some decency will you." I said attempted to distract him, he was distracted alright. But not with my words. Once my world stopped spinning I noticed he was clutching something low down on him. Once I realized that I have a brief moment of sympathy. He was crying a little and I wanted to cry with him. I don't have to imagine to know that hurt. I could feel the phantom pain of being hit in such a sacred place. I was a boy far longer than a girl. Somethings are ingrained deep into your soul, and that sympathy was one of them.

" Sorry?" I said, but he just glared at me, a kama was sent flying at me and I dodged only to find a one of my knives flying at me and a fist found it's way into my throat. My throat was bruised, making the punch hurt worse than it already would have. Jack then punched at me and I rolled away to dodge as I tried to fix my throat. The taste of blood filled my mouth and I couldn't tell up from down anymore. When I stopped spinning Jack was on top of me pinning me and he punched my square in the nose. He let out a few more, and I could feel my nose was broken and maybe a little more. As he was preparing another I moved my head forward and bit him in the neck as hard as I could and pulled tearing a chunk out of his neck.

He rolled back clutching his neck and I tried to stand but the knife he threw had hit me in the thigh. I was having an issue standing and so was he. I tried to grab another knife but I was out. My knives had run out and all of our weapons were too far away to retrieve. Neither of us could stay standing and we fell. My gaze started to get fuzzy as I could no longer stay focused on anything.

" Stop the match!" I heard vaguely and people entered the ring retrieving the both of us. I couldn't move my legs, or my arms anymore. I just wanted to sleep, this competition took a whole lot more effort than I had anticipated. I couldn't stay awake, the blood running down my face and the ragged breathing, I couldn't stay awake. Before I made it off the ring I had fallen asleep.
