Chapter 6: Bonds of Healing

Dante's surroundings were a blur as he slowly regained consciousness. The pain in his body was intense, a sharp reminder of the fierce battle he had fought to protect the injured creature. Blinking his eyes open, he saw the tranquil pond before him, its shimmering waters reflecting the sunlight. As his vision cleared, he turned his gaze to his left hand, which throbbed from the bite wound inflicted by the frightened creature.

Groaning softly, Dante struggled to sit up. His muscles protested every movement, but determination fueled his actions. He knew he couldn't afford to stay down for long. His gaze shifted to the injured creature beside him—the puppy-like tiger that he had risked so much to save. It lay there, breathing shallowly, its soft fur matted with dirt and dried blood.

With great care, Dante reached out and gently touched the creature's side. It flinched at his touch but didn't pull away.
