Chapter I ~ The incident

It has been a century since then. Despair fell over the world. Countless criminals were murdered by a mysterious force. This anonymous killer came to be known as Kira. Everyone panicked. What if they didn't meet Kira's standards of a law-abiding citizens?

However, there was hope. An anonymous detective who went under the alias of L hopped on the Kira case. His skills were like no other. He came to uncover that Kira was a college student named Light Yagami. However, his fate was sealed before he could prove it. The world was at a great loss. That was until L's successor, Near hopped onto the case. Near, otherwise known as N, brought the days of Kira to an end, becoming know as The Boy Who Cornered God.

That all happened a little over one hundred years ago. The world has been at peace since then. Until that one fateful day

Lydia Yukii is a Year 7 student in Nagasaki, Japan. Ever since the death of her grandparents in America, she moved to Japan with her biological parents.

"Remember Lydia, your project is due tomorrow. Don't forget." Lydia's teacher reminded."Yes ma'm" Lydia spoke as she skipped to the front office. Lydia was recently called up to the office. She didn't know why. Little did she know, her life was about to change.

Lydia walked into the office to see her brother, Akane Yukii. He had a stern look on his face.

"Lydia, we need to talk." Akane stated in a cold tone.

"Akane-San, What is going on?" Lydia interrogated.

"I will tell you when we get outside."

The pair made it outside. They walked along the sidewalk to their apartment complex.

"Come on brother, what did you want to tell me?" Lydia begged. She didn't know how serious the situation was

Akane let out a sigh, "I'm afraid that Mother and Father are no longer with us." A tear ran down Akane's face.

Lydia's face wwnt from an expression of joy to sadness. There was no way they actually died.

"Impossible! What happened, brother?"

"Both died due to a sudden heart attack"

Lydia couldn't believe what she was hearing. Before she knew it, she broke down into tears. Her only family left was her brother. Lydia was torn to pieces.
