7 Chapter 7

When I approached close enough to recognize her physical features, I got a little excited. It's the first time I've seen a human since I reincarnated. Should I attack her? Should I watch her? Should I interact with her? Should I assault her and steal her belongings? Different scenarios of what I could do began to appear in my mind, but for now, I should try to focus on watching her to understand her intentions in coming to this place and make sure she's not accompanied by a Pokémon much stronger than me.

As I approached a distance where I could recognize her facial features, I saw that she was a woman with brown hair, quite pretty, and seemed to be between 25 to 30 years old. She wore green pants, a black long-sleeved shirt along with a backpack and a fanny pack, both also in green.

Is she alone? No matter how I look at it, something is strange. Although I don't know much about humans in this world, it's quite suspicious that she's not accompanied by a Pokémon, as she could be attacked by some Pokémon. Even if she can release them from Poké Balls to defend her, wild and aggressive Pokémon won't wait for her to do so.

It seems dangerous to approach her, but at least she won't notice me while I stay on the branch of this tree, pretending to be a Pidgey, or so I thought when suddenly a black silhouette appeared out of nowhere at a speed that I only noticed when it was quite close.

I felt chills all over my body, and in an instant, I used <Double Team> to create a decoy and escape from this place. But the silhouette appeared in front of me before I could fly and immobilized my body with one of its paws, dispelling my illusion and returning me to the appearance of a Zorua.

I raised my gaze a bit, and finally, I could see who attacked me, it was a black and gray dog.

"Migh-Mightyena (If you don't want to get hurt, don't resist)." How am I supposed to resist when it immobilized me without even giving me time to defend myself or escape? Especially, how can it move with such speed and climb a tree being a dog?

I stopped resisting because the dog in front of me could kill me in seconds if it wanted to.

"All right, just don't hurt me." At least I should try to get out of this situation without involving my family. I shouldn't have let curiosity get the best of me by getting too close, I was very stupid and reckless.

The dog grabbed the back of my neck with its mouth and jumped from the tree branch to the ground, carrying me to where its trainer was.

"Oh, what do we have here? If it isn't a cute Zorua," said the woman with a curious expression before standing in front of me, and the dog let me go, saying, "Migh-Mightyena (If you dare to attack her, I'll kill you)." I felt chills at what it said, it sounded very serious.

"Can you understand me?" I nodded my head upon hearing her question. I don't even know if she's speaking my original language or another language because, for some reason, I understand her perfectly. Pokémon is supposed to be Japanese, so the only thing I should understand is taka taka and nothing more.

"It doesn't seem like you've unlocked telepathy, so you must be quite young." She tried to analyze me, and every time I heard her speak, I got a little nervous.

"Can I hold you in my arms and pet you?" I looked in the direction of the dog, and all it did was nod its head.

She grabbed me and held me like a baby with her left hand while scratching my belly. "By the way, Dan, why did you kidnap him? He doesn't seem like a threat to us." If I were in another situation, I would probably enjoy all this because it feels so good, but all that was on my mind was to escape from them.

"Migh-Mightyena (He is related to her, I can smell her scent on him)." The woman didn't seem to understand what the dog said.

She scratched her cheeks a bit with her index finger and said, "Sorry, I'm a bit absent-minded." That's what she said before using the hand that was petting me to open the fanny pack on her waist and take out a Poké Ball.

I felt my heart racing a mile a minute. I thought she was going to try to capture me, but instead, she hit the Poké Ball.

She opened it, and a Kirlia came out. When the Kirlia appeared, it looked at its trainer, and the trainer asked, "Lily, can you link our minds so we can communicate?" The Kirlia looked at me and then at the dog, nodding its head, but then pointed at me with one of its hands, and the woman asked me, "Zorua, can you please allow us to link our minds so we can communicate?" Even though she said it in a quite pleasant way, I shook my head in refusal. I don't know how that works, so it's better not to take risks involving my family.

"It's a shame, Lily, just link me with Dan." After she mentioned that, she looked at the dog and then had a quite surprised reaction.

"Do you happen to know Tifa?" It's the first time I hear that name, so I just shook my head.

But she looked at me with suspicion and said, "Liar, Dan said you smell like Tifa, so you must spend a lot of time with her. I've been looking for her for months because she ran away after losing to a wild Zoroark. It's impossible that you smell like her and don't know her." I felt a great sense of danger, but it disappeared quickly when she sighed and put me down before starting to rummage through her backpack.

I just want to go home and relax a bit! I thought to myself for everything that has happened in the last few minutes.

(I don't think it's a good idea to run away right now) I heard a voice of a girl in my head, and it didn't take me long to realize that it came from the Kirlia.

'Can you hear my thoughts?' I felt a little scared that they could read my mind so easily. I don't want them to know about my past, find out about my family, or maybe end up becoming an experiment.

(No, I'm just listening to what you transmitted) Before I could ask what she was talking about, the human woman took out some sort of notebook from her backpack and started showing me some pictures.

She asked me, "Do you see this?"

Of course, I see it, I'm not blind.

That's what I wanted to tell her, but I just nodded my head and saw how the Kirlia held back laughter.

"These are pictures of Tifa and mine." I looked more carefully at the photos and saw how a Lopunny appeared alongside the woman, and I quickly recognized her as my mother. In addition to that photo, there were also others where the woman appeared much younger, along with a little boy and a Buneary.

"I want to reunite with her. I know her favorite place around here before she became my Pokémon, and I also know that old Lazu is nearby. He said he wanted to spend his last days in this forest, so I want to pay him a visit." She showed me photos where the old giant dog appeared, only he had all four legs and didn't look so senile, along with a little girl who is similar to the woman in front of me.

It doesn't seem like she's lying, but I can't just take her to my mother if she doesn't want to meet the woman. Maybe I should ask my mother, but I don't think they'll let me go to meet her.

I just sighed and said the only thing that came to my mind to get out of this situation, "Okay, if I know her, but I'm not taking you or telling you where she is." She looked at me with some anger.

Before she did something rash, I continued talking, "She's one of the Pokémon I love the most, so I can't take you to her without knowing your intentions, and I don't trust you either. So I propose a deal." She relaxed a bit at what I said and replied, "Go on."

"I will meet her, but you are forbidden from following me or trying to track me. I will explain the situation to her, and if she agrees to see you, I will come back to this place to take you."

She looked at the Kirlia for a few seconds and then replied to me, "Okay, if she doesn't agree to meet us. We'll simply leave."

Did she really accept my suggestion? Isn't she planning to track me and then discover the location?

(You don't have to worry, I told her that you were telling the truth and that you didn't plan to deceive her, so we will wait in this place, and if you don't come when it's about to get dark, we will go back.)

I could only give a sigh of relief, transformed into a Pidgey, and started flying away from this place.

"Just tell Tifa that Liza is looking for her, she'll understand immediately!"

They didn't seem to intend to stop me, so when I was far enough away, I looked for a place with water and mud before soaking my body in it and covering my feathers with mud to hide my scent a bit. It never hurts to be a little cautious.

Then I flew as high as I could and went in the direction of our burrow.
